Psychic Lizard (950 words)

„So, one wish?" A vague humanoid silhouette asked the golden shining, reality and reason escaping eldritch marvel which floated in and outside of existence somewhere in her perception that made her believe it was in front of it.

"Yes, now choose." The words or whatever the thing used to communicate rang in the humanoid silhouette's mind.

"Fine, I want to have all the psychic abilities of Kageyama Shigeo also known as Mob." The silhouette said with expectation in its voice.

A silence ensued right afterwards till it got dispersed by the golden shining being.

"Granted." With that the humanoid silhouette imploded and disappeared.

Regaining its conscious again, the humanoid silhouette realized that it was no longer in the presence of the terrifying creature who escaped all its attempts to comprehend even a fraction of it.

'Sweet, new life, new chances, and with a great advantage this time too. I can hardly wait to test out all the cool sh*t I can do with a Mob's powers. He wasted them greatly and could have done so much more, well, not that I have any right to judge him, he went his way, I will go my own and I can promise that mine will be a lot bloodier than his.' Thinking to itself the humanoid silhouette didn't even realize how it succumbed to sleep.

A while later consciousness abruptly returned to it together with the pain of its lungs burning in its chest form the lack of oxygen.

Falling into panic form the feeling of suffocation that threatened to abruptly end its second life, our main character tapped into the already enormous fountain of power that had grown inside of it without noticing it.

*BANG!*

With a burst the dark surroundings shatter into many fragments and reveal a dark cavern.

Taking a deep breath from the moist and cold air inside the cave our protagonist curiously looks around.

'A cave? Eggs?' A mere cursory glance was enough for it to come up with a theory which only got enforced once it inspected its body.

'Well, looks like I am reborn as a female lizard folk.' Clenching her scaled hands into fists our little humanoid lizard tried to calm her emotions.

After taking a couple of deep breaths she finally calmed down.

'No matter, old me died, new me lives.' Rather willing to accept her new identity and leaving her past life behind, the little lizard girl stands up and starts to familiarize herself with her new body.

Her body build remained pretty much the same with the exception of her neck, which was thicker and much longer than a human's, her head, that became a lizard with a fin like appendage on each side and the tail, a complete new body part as a whole.

There are some other, more minor changes, like her feet that now have three sharp claws instead of toes, or her hands that gained sharp claw like nails.

Other than that, there are of course also the dark, forest green scales that cover most of her body with the exception of her front side, inner side of her arms and thighs and the underside of her tail.

She spent a good half an hour performing various moves and postures gaining an understanding of her body.

When she finished, she sat down on the straw covered ground of the cave next to a couple of eggs similar to her in size, meaning around forty centimeters in height and thirty in width.

'Now that I can move around comfortably in this new body I should try and take hold of my psychic abilities, I already used them in moment of panic in order to break free form my egg so I should be able to draw them out by recalling the feeling of form that time.' Closing her clear yellow reptilian eyes, she starts to meditate and recall the feeling of using her psychic powers to burst open her egg.

It didn't take long till she mentally griped hold of a surging mass of energy in her mind and soul.

For another hour or so she curiously moved this energy around internally and guided it through every part of her body in a circular fashion.

'Hmm, guiding psychic energy through the body seems to improve my physical spec's by quite a bit.' Satisfied with her current accomplishment and control over her powers, she stood up again and started to walk in the direction of the caves exit.

Following the fresh air, she soon saw the bright hole leading her into the unknown.

'Lets take a look at this new world I found myself in.' With an excited smile on her lizard face she broke into a sprint.

A clearing surrounded by tall, lush trees appeared in her view.

In the clearing she could see many tents made from animal hides, while a couple of barely clothed lizard folk people walk around equipped with stone spears and fur clothes.

'Damn, this is disappointing. Looks like in this world the lizard folk isn't much more than tribal monsters. Sigh, well, looks like I got a goal to achieve.' Sighing to herself at the prospect of being part of a barely civilized race she quickly recovers by coming up with a goal for the future.

Walking over to the nearest lizardman who stood at a height of a good 1.80 meters while hunched over and without the tail who is just a tad bit shorter than his height.

"Dude, can you speak or you just a humanoid lizard?" Her question was spoken in a wired mixture of hissing and growling.

'Neat, so I automatically speak in the lizard tongue.'
