Plant Kaiju (619 words)

Death and rebirth, concepts Sam was familiar with but didn't expect to experience so soon.

An electric shock from a power lose power cable was enough to fry Sam's body beyond saving.

And now here he…she…it… is in the body of some kind of plant monster rooted to the ground with fuzzy memories of another life which it could not remember completely, causing great amounts of frustration as it didn't even know if it was female or male, its name also didn't help as it was pretty gender neutral.

Having spent the first few minutes trashing around with its barbed tentacle vines of which it had four connected to the thick stalk that kept it upright and was adored with a bright red flower head, Sam managed to calm down enough to take in the surroundings which stunned it quite a bit.

Wherever it turned thick forest filled with plants of all kinds grow strong and healthy, and if the movement of some of them is anything to go by then Sam was not the only abnormal plant around here.

Bringing one of its tentacle vines closer to its eyes which were located underneath the flower head whose middle could open up into a terrifying maw filled with teeth, Sam inspected the sharp thorns growing along the flexible green limb with curiosity.

This new body was strange but oddly comfortable.

No bones or muscles that could ache, nor the sensation of pain as Sam soon found out though unwillingly as a small creature roughly the size of a mouse gleefully chewed at its roots, tearing dark green plant flesh off and engorging itself on the toxic looking blood streaming forth.

It shared some characteristics with a rabbit combined with an insect creating quite the abomination if Sam could say so.

Not willing to figure out how much damage it could take before dying Sam instead slammed two of its barbed limbs at the creature, squashing it into past.

After a moment of hesitation Sam scooped up the things remains and lift them above its head where slowly a way to big mouth opens up with strings of salvia connecting the pristine white teeth's.

The meal was short but satisfying.

Sam could feel the remains melting in its mouth turning into liquid that then coursed through its body and some of it leaking out of small would near its roots.

Focusing on the spot of its body where green blood seeped out from Sam came up with an idea and wrapped one of its four limbs around the wound, careful to twist it so that none of the thorns pierced it and cause more damage.

With no more immediate things to attend to, Sam went to future explore its new body.

With a few attempts it figured out that it could gain a full body picture by focusing on itself, it felt as if it was shifting its very conscience through its body.

It's a wired and new experience but Sam found itself entranced by the feeling and started shifting itself through out every nock and cranny of itself, be it one of its limbs, a root or a petal on its head.

Like that Sam spent a good while playing around until the sound of branches breaking and trees falling brought it out of it.

The once clear blue sky darkened as a giant scaled limb passed over Sam's head who could only stare wide eyed at the massive limb vaguely looking like the leg of a crab.

Following the one limb are soon a couple of others and a mountain like body covered in spikes and massive eyes staring into the distance, not bothering with little old Sam.
