Insect girl Game (1398 words)

I stare a for a bit at the two blood red words floating in front of me.

[You Died]

Everything but these two words was black like the void and even the red text begins to fade away.

Personally, I found the situation quite amusing.

The way I went out wasn't exactly what I had hoped for, but it wasn't the worst there could be.

Dying in a plane crash, classic, not too uncommon and luckily for me I passed out because of something hitting my head.

What exactly killed me I cant say, but I don't remember feeling much pain so that counts as a win in my books.

And just like that I, Amelie Wayne, died and disappeared from the world.

Shifting my attention away from my death I let my gaze wander over the two game like panels that had appeared after the [You Died] text completely vanished.

[New Game]

[Log Out]

Intriguing to say the least, definitely didn't think that a situation like this would happen after my death, but to be fair, humanity doesn't exactly has a way to figure out what's going on after death so we're just speculating.

Looking at the two options that remind me an awful lot of a video game I start to try and guess their meaning, which wasn't very hard.

New game probably will allow me to reincarnate, just not sure if I'm going to keep my memories or not.

Log out on the other hand I'm not too sure, am I going to simply disappear if choose it? Or will I enter eternal rest? It's also possible that I will awake and find out my whole life was just a simulation.

Quick to abandon that specific train of thought I focus on the [New Game] option with the intention to push it.

To my relief it worked just fine and both options fade away only to be replaced with something all to familiar to myself.

A floating panel with loads of options choices and a single sentence at the top.

[Character Creation]

Menu floating before me was the exact same as the one from a certain VR MMORPG that I… Indulged in?

No, I was absolutely addicted to it.

Probably spent more time in game than in the real world.

Doesn't matter now.

Refocusing on the panel and forgoing my antisocial tendencies of my old life, I quickly tap and slide through the sub menus of the character creation menu to make sure that it is indeed the one I am so familiar with.

It didn't take long till I was sure that it was indeed the same and couldn't help but feel excited about it.

If my favorite games character creation menu appeared, why shouldn't the rest also be around?

Meaning that in my next life I will have access to the games leveling, skill and class system, with which I am plenty familiar with.

Pulling myself together as to start with the creation of my character plans start to appear inside my mind out of pure habit.

What kind of build shall I go for?

What is it that I want to achieve with this character?

What do I need to consider in its creation?

Such and many more flood my brain and I automatically filter out the important ones and piece together something that fit most if not all my needs.

It is a habit and skill that I acquired after playing the game for over ten years with a great variety of characters ranging from min-maxing to role-play and most in between.

As for this one?

I'm going to be reincarnated as it, so I have to prioritize survival and comfort over most things which narrows my choices down quite a bit, but not enough to make it easy to come to a decision.

Let's first focus on choosing a race, it will be the foundation and probably the most determining factor for this character.

There are three main categories of races available.

Humanoid, Demi-Human and Heteromorphic.

I already lived a life as a human, so I scratch the humanoid race section entirely to narrow down my choices a bit.

This leaves the Demi-Humans and the Heteromorphs, still a very wide range of choices.

I'm hesitant to choose the Heteromorphs, even though the thought of becoming something closer to a monster than a human is tempting to me, I am very aware that my aesthetic sense and sexual preference remains in humanoid creatures, preferably female, I'm not entirely averse to males but I always inclined to lean more on my lesbian side.

Eyeing the Demi-Human section and looking through its many choices I had a hard time to decide.

With a mental sigh I hold off on making a definite decision and instead start thinking about what it is that I would need in my second life.

Now that I think about it, it isn't clear if I am going to be transported into the world of the game.

In that case it would probably be good to make a build that would allow me in a great variety of biomes, just in case I arrive in a poisonous swamp or something like that.

This new factor shifted my decision as to what race I should choose more in the direction of the Heteromorphs.

Heteromorphic races are stronger at the beginning which would boost my survival rate greatly in the early stages which is exactly what I want.

As for my sexual and aesthetical problem, I can choose a race who has an evolution option that allows a more humanoid appearance later on, solving both problems even though I won't have much of a social interaction with humanoids early on.

Skipping through the races that fit my criteria I soon land on one that I could somewhat accept.

Insectoid, a race of insect like monsters.

With natural armor and weapons right of the bat and plenty of resistances against most things appearing in nature like poison and diseases, they are a good choice.

Depending on what kind you pick you can also gain very useful traits that can help you in the early game or even remain useful all the way into the late game.

Confirming my choice I select the insectoid race and make myself onto creating my future body, or, well, the initial form of my body, I after all am going to evolve quite a lot which will change my appearance drastically.

A fair amount of time passes and in the middle of the floating character creation panel now stood a female insectoid.

The base form is basically the same as human with the addition of another pair of arms underneath the normal ones.

Her whole form is covered in a dark grey exoskeleton and form the intersections of the armor white fur peeked out, with the exception being her arms and legs where it stopped from the forearms downwards and by the knees downwards for the legs.

The fur around her neck is exponentially longer, and fluffier, making it so that it looked like she wore a fur scarf that covered her lower face, which hid her terrifying mouth who she can cover with the armor plates on her face.

Except for the armor pates covering her mouth the resto of the exoskeleton on her head was white like her fur, contrasting strongly with the two big compound eyes bulging out of her skull.

Lastly a pair of fern like antennas similar to those of a moth come out of her forehead and dangle on the air.

I made sure to make it so that she was well armored and can effectively use her hands as weapons, either to deal blunt damage or use the as claws for sharp damage.

The feet are designed to allow a good hold onto the ground and most other surfaces.

As for the perk I ultimately decided on, I choose wings.

It is an op ability in the early game even though it is limited, and one has to evolve a couple of times till one gains true free flight.

After taking the wings I stuffed the rest into things that would increase my tenaciousness and regeneration.

Another nice thing that the insectoids have for themselves is the fact that they can regen lost limbs without the need for healing spells.
