Fairytale witch/druid 1431 words)

Naked feet run across the cold grass covered ground with occasionally tree roots poking out, the grass is still wet from the dew which glisters in the early morning sun.

Heavy breathing escapes the rosy lips of the young girl which runs through the forest with nothing but her bare feet.

Pulling a thick and warm fur coat which was way too big for her tightly around her small form in an attempt to keep the chilly morning cold away, she swiftly dodges trees, bushes and roots that impede her path.

Her wavy crimson hair flutters wildly as her emerald, green eyes cautiously dart around the forest looking for any suspicious movements.

A dark glint full of anger and rage glows at the bottom of those brilliant green eyes.

She grinds her teeth against each other as she thinks back to what has transpired this very morning.

'Those filthy traitors, the whole lot of 'em!' She shouts in her mind as her expression twitches with barely suppressed rage.

In the early morning even before the sun rose to illuminate the world all the many different people of the small village in which she was born and lived till the age of eleven surrounded her house where she resided with her parents and kicked down the door.

Barny the farmer who has taught her about all the different crops he has been planting for most of his life barged into the small wooden house and made his way to the door on the left of the cozy living room.

He kicked open the door, expecting to see a little girl with crimson hair and poisonous green eyes lying in the straw bed in front of him, but to his utter surprise he found it empty.

Two other men entered the house after Barny who just stood in front of the straw bed in a daze.

Their arrival brough Barny out of his daze and he begins to shout at the two to search the rest of the house.

He and the other two men left the empty room, unaware that two emerald, green eyes had witnessed everything from a small crack in the wooden wall.

The little girl continues to hide in the small compartment in the wall of her room till she hears how many footsteps leave the house followed by hectic and angry shouting outside.

Taking her chance, the girl sneaks out of her hiding spot and walks into the living room where she takes a big fur coat off its rack and then proceeds to climb out of the closest window.

A cold shiver shakes her whole body as the cold of the early morning invades her little form.

Not able to spare even a second more the girl starts running away from her old home in the direction of the forest to the north.

'If I ever return to this place, I'm going to break some of their bones!' Cursing the traitorous people of her village, the girl silently makes her way through the unfamiliar forest.

After a while running, she comes across a small river of crystal-clear water, after a short moment of hesitation she bites on her lower lip and with slow but steady steps she starts walking into the river.

The ice-cold water reaches halfway to her knees and a freezing feeling creeps up the girl's legs as she tightly clenches her teeth before marching forward along the river.

'This should make it a bit harder for those traitors to find me.' She thought as she continues her escape.

All traces from there on got washed away by the water, assuring the girl that she won't be tracked by the hunters of her village.

Continuously cursing every member of her village, the little girl marches through the cold water further north.

'I thought I was lucky to gain a second chance in life, but hey, maybe being born with crimson hair which compels those medieval sheep to think that I'm a witch is the price for this miracle.' Her quivering lips get pulled into a sad smile as she thinks about her eleven years in this backward village, she calls home.

'It took them eleven years to finally come to the conclusion that I'm a witch, I'm not sure if I should be thankful or be angry that they gave me enough time to start liking them before betraying me.' Releasing a deep sigh, the girl finally walks out of the river back onto the now dry ground, all the dew has been evaporated by the bright sun which shines down on the world.

Looking up at the bright blue sky full of fluffy clouds the anger and rage in the girl's stomach start to drain away and make space for the sadness and pain of being betrayed by friends and family alike.

Collapsing at the river side the little girl curls up into a ball and starts cry as damp wet tears roll down her rosy cheeks.

At first, she tried to keep her voice down but after a short while she openly cried, showing her pain to the world.

Her weeping form covered by the fur coat slowly starts to attract many different animals form the forest around her.

Birds, big and small, land on the branches of the surrounding trees while rabbits, boars, foxes and many more animals come forth from the tree line.

The river gets filled by different fishes while snakes, lizards and spiders crawl onto the surrounding rocks.

Finally, after a long time the girl fell asleep, her escape and the emotional storm in her heart took its toll.

It was then that the roots, branches and bushes near the sleeping girl start to bend creating a free path leading deep into the forest.

Out of this path strides an old man wearing a simple brown robe and a floppy hat with pointed tip, in his hand he holds a gnarly wooden staff that has green moss and vines all over it.

A majestic white beard that reaches down to his waist covers most of the wrinkled old man's face, two bright sunken eyes gaze at what lies before him.

He curiously looks at the little girl covered by a big fur coat which lies sound asleep on the side of the river.

With steps full of strength unlike his outer appearance he approaches the little girl before crouching down and pulling away the coat revealing the delicate face framed by crimson hair of the little girl.

The old man intently stares at the small figure as his green eyes repeatedly jump between the crimson hair and the closed eyes of the girl.

"What an interesting being fate has brough upon my path. She carries the gift of the druids as well as that of the witches." The old man's voice is deep and rough as if it hasn't been used for a long time.

His lips which are mostly covered by his beard spread into a wide smile as a strange glint flash past his brightly shing eyes.

"I'm curious to see what someone like her can achieve at the height of her power. Will she make the world a better place or will she plunge it into destruction? Hehehehe how exciting to think about." The old man's smile stretches into a mad grin causing all the animals surrounding the little girl to go completely silent and distance themselves a bit more.

"The earth has been silent for too long, nature is thriving mostly unhindered, except for the south where the Tamriel empire started building machines that feed on the flesh of the forests. A new storm shall be coming soon, and maybe I'll be able to use this storm to nurture this wonderous child to its full potential." Carefully the old man kneels down next to sleeping child before laying his staff on the ground and shifting the girl into his arms, lifting her off the ground.

With the child in his arms the old man begins to walk back the same path from where he came from.

As soon as he left all the animals that gathered spread out once more going back to what they have been doing before.

The roots, branches and bushes that had bent to create a path for the old man return to their previous position.

In but a few minutes after the department of the old man and the girl everything returned back to normal.

Meanwhile a group of villagers slowly approaches the are where the little girl went ashore.
