The Horror

It was getting darker now ...she had to make some decision or the other . She was so close to loosing her mind . She has disgraced her family and herself . There is no way she can go back home at this point . She could not apprehend what was going on ...Laya had spent half the day standing in he same spot ...the shopkeepers around had started noticing her presence . She had to go somewhere to spend the night ...but where will she go ? She knew nobody...this was a completely unknown town for her . How could he do this to her ??

Laya frantically started going through her phone book ...trying to see whom she can confide in and who could help her out . She had a friend in college who had moved out of her small town for a job to a town closer to where Laya was at ...but she was not sure how far away was her home . Laya started going through her contact list for Satya's number . She called the number keeping her fingers crossed . As soon as Satya answered her call Laya bust out in tears. All her emotions for the day came out like a gush of water which Laya could not control .

Satya was baffled . She was hearing from Laya after 8 months . They had not communicated for a longtime . Satya had no clue why Laya was weeping like a baby.

"Can you please help me ?

"What happened Laya?" Satya asked very concerned . You are calling me after so many months and then just crying ? Hope all is fine "

Laya gave Satya a gist of what had happened and requested her to help her out . It turned out that Satya was living in a hostel in a town next to where Laya was waiting . She said it would take at least an hour for her to reach where she was standing .

Satya had to take special permission from the warden to have her stay over for the night . She was not sure if the warden would agree ... but Satya decided not to disclose her uncertainty to Laya.

Laya knew that she had to wait for at least an hour in this unknown place. She was feeling very uncomfortable since people around were kind of staring at her or maybe she just felt so . S She kept walking back and forth the street not knowing what to do . The battery in her cell phone was draining fast ...she only had 10% charge left . Time seemed to crawl by ..she was terribly hungry too. She observed people walking around her. Everyone was in a hurry to reach somewhere unlike her who had no home to go to ....It was nearly 35 mins now since she had called Satya.

She went back to the spot where she was originally waiting since there was bench she could sit on . She gradually sat down on the half broken wooden bench . Laya could hear the water trickling from a nearby tap . She kept staring at the water dripping . Her mind was blank and her thoughts wandered to the wonderful days she had spent with Praveen . She could hear his voice assuring her .."I love you Laya ..I will always be there by your side ". His lie was so convincing Laya thought. They had spent so many wonderful days together. Laya had weaved an entire world around him .

Her thoughts came to a pause as her attention turned towards a strong stream of light coming from a two wheeler coming her way . The light was so strong that she could not decipher the face of the person riding the 2 wheeler .
