The History?

Nox and Tori sit in front of each other. Tori's face was plastered in a grin as Nox glared at her. "Well help them save their country?" Nox says mocking her voice. "Why the fuck did you

speak on my behalf?" He asks slamming his hands on the table.

"Think about it Nox!" Tori says Gleefully. "This is just like all those mangas I've read. We

get summoned to another world, we save them, I- We become hero's" Nox nods his head. "Your right this is a big cliche. Just like WHEN THE KING IS A GENACIDEL MANIAC." He screams. "Just because this is like a manga doesn't mean that it will play out like one. There will be consequences for your actions. You have just us both up for war!"

"Relax Nox." She says brushing his words of. "We'll end up getting supper strong powers

and the like." She opens the door and leaves happy. "Sit in there and try to relax." She quickly

shuts the door before she can hear Nox's reply and happily walks down the hallway.

She follows the hallway before entering a room with 3 maids cleaning the halls. "Excuse

me. Could you bring me to the king? I want to ask some questions." One of the smaller maids

nodded her name and beckoned her to follow. As Tori followed she noticed that the maids

seemed to make not only no sound but their footsteps were also very light and soft. The maid walked to one of the doors and knocked 3 times paused and nocked again.

"Come in-hero." A voice said from the other side of the door. Tori walked in, her eyes glancing

around the office. She had noticed when entering her room that the technology used seemed to

be steam-powered. "Hero." Silver said walking over to her "May I ask why you have come to my

office?"

"Well, I had some questions about the world. You said that the world used to have magic

in it. Can you tell me the history?" the man smiled and nodded his head. "Of course, but I would

suggest having a seat, it is a long story." Tori nods her head and sits down in front of his desk.

"Well, it started around 200 years ago. Magic was so common that even a present could use some type of magic. Magic was given to people by the gobs based on your rank in society, experiences you have been through, and what blessing a god gave you. Having a blessing was a double-edged sword. It increased the magic you got from that god and even gave you new magic a the cost of you never being able to use other magic." The man stops and smiles.

"One day two gods started fighting, the blood that was spilled had amazing properties that we humans could only dream about. Injecting yourself with even a little bit made you stronger than B-rank adventures. Taking enough of it you would become a demi-god and even a minor god if you took enough. One day somebody wanted to be a god. But the thing was that we were running out of blood, so he decided that he would get more and declared war against the gods."

"The gods were insulted and when the man arrived to kill a god he was confronted by

everyone. He put up a good fight but was unable to injure any of them. The gods seeing how

corrupted humans had become decided to leave for another world, taking their magic with them.

The only god that stayed was the trickster god, and now that he had free reign he changed

everything. Magic died and humans were scared. Those who were able to get blessings found

them to be a curse. It granted them magic at a cost."

"Humans confronted with the idea they lost magic turned to science. We created steam-powered airships, weapons, everything. The thing was that the god of trickery liked old

combat so he gave a buff for those who use a sword. That leads us to now. In a hope to stop the west kingdom from attacking we searched everywhere for even a drop of God's blood. Once we found some we decided that we should bring people from other worlds to ours for help."

Tori nods her head and stands up. "I want to use the sword. I was taught a bit of Kendo and so I know how to use a sword." Silver paused for a moment and smiled. "You know, one of our battlegrounds in the west is heavily in need of support. We could send you there as support.

You can learn a bit about war and when you get back we can train you based on what you did."

"Deal," Tori smiles and holds her hand out for a handshake. Silver grabs her hand and kisses it.

"Yes, deal."

Nox finds himself standing in front of a door. One of the maids had brought him to the door two hours after Tori had left to train. He had passed the time by reading through the history books. While some books seemed to have the same message, some books contradicted themselves. When the maid came to get Nox he decided that he would confront him about this.

The maid knocks 3 times before pausing and knocking one more time. Nox makes a mental

note of the knock before walking into the room.

"Nox I presume?" Silver asks watching him enter the room. Nox doesn't respond but instead walks over to a miniature steam-powered train."It's amazing you know. Most people wouldn't understand how to make steam into a power source. You use the steam pressure hot water produces to move a turbine to create electricity which is used to power anything you desire.

"You seem to understand how steam power works I am quite-" Nox cuts him off. "What I

find incredible is that you can power an entire kingdom, military, and even have some leftover to

create new weapons. No, you don't just use steam. Steam is just used to power the kingdom

and some of the military." Nox grabs the train and waves it around his ear, water sloshes around

in the train as he nods. "I think you found something else? You use this substance to power everything that steam can't power, but because the substance you found is very rare you only

use it for experimental things."

Silver drops his smile, walks over, and snatches the train out of Nox's hands. "What are you trying to say? Even if we found a different supply of energy why bring it up? I didn't bring

you here to antagonize me!"

"The library smells of oil. All of the books in there tell contradicting stories, and if I'm right

about what type of person you are the people outside can't even read those books. This war, I

have no part of it."

"That is enough!" Silver tosses the train at the wall barely missing Nox. The train hits the

wall with so much intensity that it tore a hole through it. "I will not have these false accusations put against me. If I was the coward you think I am I would not fight a war to save my people!"

Nox shakes his head and the two sit down in chairs. They both stare at each other for a

few seconds before Silver speaks. "I don't know why you are so angry with me but I was going

to ask what type of job you would like. Your friend has chosen to be a swordswoman. But seemings how we need to build trust between each other I will allow you access to The Pit."

"The pit?" Nox questions. "Yes. The Pit is where we build and produce all of our technology. I'll even give you free rein of the entire facility. Once we build trust I will even put you in charge." Nox stands up and looks at Silver. "I will accept this. Make note of the fact I will be watching, and if my fears are unfounded I will take back what I said."

Nox walks out of the room and pauses right before the hole in the room. He closes his eyes and waits for a few seconds. Once satisfied with what he has heard he continues down the

hallway to The Pit.
