CH3 THE FIRST TEST

True to her word Aanya sent someone at the crack of dawn to pick Alex up from Aria's house. Her father who looked like a lion was not at all happy that his daughter had made friends with Alex. This was not surprising since this world's beauty standards for men depended on the amount of muscle they had and since Alex was built like a twig The resentment sent his way was understandable. His mother on the other hand was not that hostile towards Alex Tho a bit cold at first she had warmed u quite a bit towards him. Alex decided that it was because he had helped out around the house since his Arrival. That morning two people came to pick Alex up from his temporary accommodation

Alex(To Alpha): I am counting on you partner.

Alpha: You don't worry about that there's just something I want to tell you that I think could be important

Alex: Is it related to today's exam??

Alpha: I don't think so.

Alex: Then I think you should wait for a while until my test is over.

Alpha: But ...

Alex: No buts I have a big test right now and I need to focus.

Alpha(sounding angry): Fine then but don't come crying to me later.

Alex(also getting angry): As if you pile of tin foil

Aria(with a hint of concern): Hey Alex everything ok your face looks funny

Alex: Ya I'm fine just a little nervous.

Shortly afterward they approach a large clearing in the middle of the village. An arena seems to be built there. They see Aanya and two other people flanking her one was a burly man and the other is an elderly woman. The woman was carrying a strangely shaped staff but Alex didn't get a chance to ask her what it was before Aanya began speaking.

Aanya: Now that he's here let's begin the test you two. Valerie would you do the honors

The old woman stepped forwards and began speaking, her voice was oddly enchanting and soothing. It made Alex want to sleep and he would have if it weren't for Alpha who kept sending an electric shock through Alex,s brain every time he became drowsy.

Valerie: Your test consists of three stages in this stage we shall examine your ability to learn new things and adapt to them. Wilson if you will (She said before backing up again)

Valerie's POV

There's something strange about this kid he managed to withstand my drowsiness spell, Even fully grown adults can not last more than 5 seconds. This should be interesting(she thought as she leaned against her cane waiting in anticipation)

The bear of a man stepped forward

Wilson: As you know my name is Wilson and I shall be your examiner for the first round. During this round, I shall be demonstrating our village's special fighting style. To pass you need to copy me to a certain level of accuracy. Am I clear!

Alex: Yes sir (Alex said while standing straight and rigid).

Wilson: That's what I like to hear how you prepare your self I will begin when you are ready

Alex(to Alpha): Alpha can you cover for me

Alpha: You just need carefully look at his movements I will take care of the rest

Alex: Thanks mate

Alpha: Don't mention it its all part of my job

Alex(to Wilson): Ok I am ready

Wilson nodded and headed to the center of the stage where he took a fighting stance and prepared himself. Alex could feel the energy radiating from him. Then suddenly without warning, Wilson executed a flurry of blows and kicks Alex could practically feel the gusts of wind that were coming from Wilson's blows despite being a good 15 feet away from him. One thing that struck Alex's eye was that his movements despite being extremely powerful were fluid it was almost like the force from each blow added power to the next, It seemed less like a fighting technique and more like a very violent art form Then after a minute of his assault, Wilson stopped his performance and looked towards Alex

Wilson: You ready kid

Alex: Just give me a moment I need to process that information

Wilson shrugged and resumed his post by Aanya's side

Alex(To Alpha): Mind explaining what the hell that was

Alpha: It's rather simple actually that technique was made to kill. It uses the momentum of one's body to deliver blows that get stronger the longer you fight. The moves are simple but effective, that aside from me might have a small problem.

Alex: What the problem

Alpha: If I copy him exactly they could become suspicious

Alex: Your right, then what you can do is copy it to a 50% accuracy I am sure that will help lessen suspicion

Alpha: ok got it

Alex: ok then let's go

Alex(turning to Wilson): I am ready can I begin

Wilson nodded and gestured towards the arena

Wilson: You can begin when ready

Alex stepped into the very center of the arena took a deep breath and began.

The onlookers were struck dumb by Alexe's performance. Wilfred couldn't believe his eyes, he had been considered a prodigy by the villagers and yet it had taken him 50 years to achieve a mere 70% mastery over the technique, and yet here came this young kid who managed a 35% mastery be merely looking at a demonstration once. With a look of disbelief, his eyes turned to Aanya who sported a similar look. The requirement to pass the test had been mimicking the fighting style by 1% 3% and Alex would have been referred to as a saint with god-gifted talent and there Alex had completely shattered the expectations from the villagers. The moment Alex's demonstration was completed he took a quick look around and the number of bewildered faces forced him to bite back a laugh

Alex: So ..., Did I pass(Spoke Alex in a mock voice of concern)

Wilson:(While giving Alex a supersonic thump in the back) With flying colors my friend

Alex: So does that mean I get to live here then.

Aanya: Unfortunately no you still need to pass your remaining two tests but with your skill level I'm sure you will glide through them

Alex: Well then when can I start....(With what could be called a truly demonic smile)
