Chapter 110: Fifth Great Schism Episode II

[Mandalore Sector, Mandalore System, Mandalore]

(3rd Person: POV)

*Beep Beep Beep*

Hearing the beeping of her commlink Satine opened her eyes, slipped out of Obi-Wan's arms, sat up on her bed, then picked it up and answered it.

"Yes?" Satine asked irritability.

For she had only had a few hours of sleep.

A trend for her in the last few weeks after Jango Fett was acknowledged as the leader of their people, and he began transitioning the Mandalorians to follow the path of the 'True Mandalorian' he advocated and practiced himself.

A transition Satine and the New Mandalorians knew they could do nothing to stop.

So they went along with the decisions of their people.

Satine having taking up Jango's offer to become the Mandalore Sectors full-time ambassador, and having taken time to re-connect with her sister Bo-Katan.

Both decisions Satine does not regret.

Though she does wish the workload she has been saddled with would hurry up and lighten already.

"Ambassador, we've just recieved a communication from an inbound Consular-class Republic cruiser. Who says they are on there way to Mandalore to deliver a Jedi investigation team."

"What?!" Satine shouted. "This is outrageous. Tell them to turn around and leave immediately." She spoke.

Feeling her anger building.

For the Galactic Republic had no right to send a Jedi investigation team to Mandalore without informing her or her government first.

"I wish I could ambassador, but the cruiser just exited hyperspace here in the sector and is headed directly for Mandalore and Sundari. Seems that in addition to dropping off the Jedi the cruiser also needs to refuel."

"Understood." Satine replied.

She then cut the call on her commlink.

After she did she placed it down,turned to Obi-Wan, and gently started shaking him.

Obi-Wan opening his eyes a few seconds after she did.

"Satine, what's the matter?" He asked.

"Jedi are here." She spoke.

Immediately after Satine said this Obi-Wan sensed several familiar presences, and he was certain they sensed him.

"Yes, it seems like they are." Obi-Wan replied.

He then moved to contact Van and the others.

For if the Jedi had sensed him he was certain they sensed the others too.

Which could have the developing situation go bad very, very, quickly.

On the Conuslar-class cruiser Plo Koon and the rest of the investigation team perked up, for they sensed several familiar presences in the Mandalore system through the Force.

"It looks like those rumors of Jedi being involved in the recent events on Mandalore were true after all." Plo Koon mused.

Wondering why Van was involved with the Mandalorians.

"Van, it's Obi-Wan. Seems the Galactic Republic dispatched a Jedi investigation team here to Mandalore given all of the recent events that have taken place." He explained.

"I know. I just sensed them." I said.

This event well within my expectations.

Given who Jango is, what he did for the Republic, and the Mandalorians history it's no wonder the Galactic Republic and Jedi Order are acting paranoid and sending someone to check up on them.

The Jedi being dispatched here likely Palpatine's doing.

Now the question is, what to do about this?

For its not as if I'm scared of the Jedi Order, but one slip up and they and the Republic could learn about the Galactic Systems Alliance and the Jedaii Order before preparations to unveil them to the rest of the galaxy are complete.

Which would be very bad.

Thinking it over for a few moments I soon came to a decision.

Once I did so I informed Serra and Obi-Wan who had no problems with it.

Getting their approval I contacted Komari and Sia-Lan and informed them of the situation.

I then started moving to get ready.

For there were guests coming and I had to be ready to entertain them.

Their cruiser landing at Sundari without any trouble the Jedi investigation team was met by a group of royal guards the moment they landed.

The Royal guardsmen then escorted them to the Sundari royal palace.

As the escort took place the investigation team took note of their surroundings.

There was damage to the city from battles.

Along with Mandalorians wearing traditional Mandalorian armor patrolling the streets.

Yet the people were not afraid of them.

The Jedi sensed admiration and gratitude directed as the traditional Mandalorian warriorsm

Conversely the Jedi sensed suspicion and fear aimed at them.

Except for a few.

Anyway

Upon reaching the palace the investigation team was taken to the throne room.

When they arrived there the Jedi became shocked.

For they were not simply faced with duchess Satine but several Mandalorians wearing traditional Mandalorian armor.

Along with Van and his fellow Jedaii.

All of them dressed in their personal battle armor.

Turning the situation on its head in an instant.

"Greetings master Jedi's, to what do we owe your unannounced visit to Mandalore?" Satine asked.

When she did Pop Koon stepped forward.

"Greetings duchess, I am Jedi master Plo Koon." The Kel Dor Jedi began. "As to why my team and I are here, we were dispatched by the Republic and the high council to investigate rumors that Jedi were involved in the recent events that took place on Mandalore." He explained. His eyes going to Van's group. "Now we see that those rumors were not false."

"Hello, good to see you again master Plo Koon." Van spoke.

"You as well young Van." Plo Koon replied. "The same to the rest of you as well." He spoke to the rest of Van's group.

Who acknowledged Plo Koon's greeting.

"Master Plo Koon I think that is quite enough with the pleasantries." Master Mundi spoke up. Glaring at Van's group. "Let us get to the heart of the matter. Former knight Sunrider, why are you and your compatriots involved in Mandalorian affairs?"

"None of your business." Van immediately replied.

Earning him a glare from Mundi, which he promptly ignored.

For Van had decided confront the Jedi investigation team head on.

Since he will not run or hide.

He decided to stand against them with his head held high.

"He is right. Our internal matters do not concern you Jedi." Jango said. "Now once your ship is refueled I would kindly ask that you return to it and leave our space."

"Jango Fett. So, this is where you ended up after leaving Kamino." Master Shaak Ti spoke. "May I ask you the reason as to why you returned to Mandalore?"

"I did so to protect my people." Jango replied. "I received intel that a radical group of Mandalorians was intending to overthrow the current Mandalorian government. So I came back, took care of them, and have chosen to remain here and lead my people. For I am Mandalore after all." He spoke.

"That still does not explain why former Jedi we're involved in this matter. Also, duchess Satine are you okay with this change in leadership of your people?" Master Billaba spoke.

"Yes, I am." Satine replied. "They have spoken and wish to follow Jango. So since that is the case I have as well." She explained. "And as to why your former Jedi comrades are here they simply aided us in our hour of need. Something your order and the Republic would likely never do. Now you have come here without any advanced warning, asked questions which we have answered, and so as the Mandalore said once your ship is refueled we kindly ask you leave our space."

"I'm afraid we cannot do that duchess." Mundi said. "At least not without confirming one more thing." He spoke. Looking at Van's group. "Tell me former Knight Sunrider, why do I sense the taint of the dark-side of the Force upon you and your companions?"

"Simple. We have been studying it." Van replied.

The moment he did the five Jedi masters took up defensive stances and placed their hands on their lightsabers.

Which Van had expected when he made his revelation.

"The dark-side, are you mad?!" Mundi shouted.

"You touch upon the dark-side Van?" Plo Koon asked.

"I do, and so does Yennali master Plo Koon." Van reveealed.

"What, why?!" Plo Koon asked worredly.

"For my allies and I seek the balance." Van spoke.

"The balance?" Master Gallia asked.

"Yes, the balance." Van retorted. "We seek to use the Force in all its aspects. Focusing neither too much on light or dark. Which I hope will one day lead to the reunification of Force users and end this age old feud between Jedi and Sith that started with the First Great Schism ages ago." He explained.

"Impossible. It cannot be done." Master Mundi retorted. "The dark side is too powerful for anyone to manage."

"If that is the case then why aren't Force abilties like Electro Judgement or lightsaber Form VII completely banned instead of just restricted?" Van asked. "For that matter master Windu created Vaapad and has been using it for years and he isn't a craving mad lunatic who kills indiscriminately like many who touch the dark side and up doing. Making your point moot master Mundi."

Mundi having no retort for Van's words.

"Look I am not saying the dark side is easy to handle. But with training or can be done. Which is why I and my allies have started studying it, while also maintaining our studies of the light. For we seek balance. Hence why we call ourselves the Jedaii Order." Van spoke.

Having decided to go ahead and reveal the existence of the Jedaii Order here and now.

The Force telling him it was the right thing to do.

So Van decided to trust in the Force.

"Jedaii." Plo Koon murmured.

"Balance. Interesting." Gallia stated.

Shaak To said nothing.

While Mundi and Billaba looked completely outdone.

This lasted for a few seconds before Plo Koon removed his hand from his lightsaber.

"We understand. We shall take our leave now. Good day to you all." He spoke.

Plo Koon then left, taking the other four Jedi masters with him.

Van wondering how his revelations would play out within the main order.
