At The Hospital

Shawn, Natasha, and Professor Newmon were taken to the nearest hospital as soon as possible.

It didn't even take five minutes before the news about Professor Newmon's lab accident getting out, it was all over the media, people started to wonder what when wrong in the lab.

Professor Newmon is a very well-known name in the science community so many people tried to contact him to find out about his condition but he has put his phone on silent, the news about two students getting hurt was also out in the public as well.

Some people even started to blame the professor for not taking care of the students properly, while some defended the professor saying that lab accidents are not rare and sometimes they can be fatal, they all hoped that the injured students would come out of this unscathed.

Back in the hospital, both Shawn and Natasha are taken to the emergency room and Professor Newmon was taken to the general ward as his injury is not severe, he just suffers from a dislocation.

Shawn and Natasha, seem to have been affected the most, the doctors found out that Natasha has a hairline fracture on her lowest left rib so they did a quick surgery on her to support her fracture, it will take six to eight weeks for it to completely heal, they did the dedicated procedure on her and sent her to a private room as per her guardian's request.

When her parents heard about the accident, they immediately rushed to the hospital to check on their daughter, they were happy that their daughter didn't suffer any life-threatening injury, they didn't care about the other two so they decided to accompany their daughter alone.

The doctors were able to fix Professor Newmon's arm quite easily, since he was furthest from the explosion, his injuries were not much of a concern at all.

Newmon moved around his arm and felt a stinging sensation around his shoulder, since his arm was just fixed, he shouldn't move it around much.

"Doctor, how are my two students". He asked, he is very concerned about Natasha and Shawn, especially Shawn as he treats Shawn as his own son, Newmon doesn't have any children as he spent his whole life being alone.

Shawn was the closest thing to family right now and he doesn't want the boy to be in danger.

"The girl has a hairline fracture on her lowest left rib which isn't much of a concern, as for the boy he is in a coma, luckily he doesn't have any fracture or broken bones, he seems to be fine, his body, on the other hand, is in shock". The doctor said as he was also fascinated by Shawn's case.

"Are you sure the boy was flung through the air because of the blast?" The doctor asked again. If what Professor Newmon described is true, then the boy should have multiple fractures all over his body, he might have even died if his skull was fractured and a piece of it lodged into his brain.

"I am sure, I saw with my own eyes, he was out in the open and got thrown away by the blast and hit the wall". Newmon said.

"Then it really is a miracle, the boy is very lucky and has a very strong body to come out of it unscathed". The doctor said.

"How long will he be in a coma?" Newmon asked.

"Now that is the main concern, even if his body hasn't suffered any injuries, his brain went into shock as soon as he made an impact to the wall and got knocked out.

We took a CT-Scan and noticed no severe damage to the brain as well so we really don't know when he will wake up, it might take a day or a whole month". The doctor said.

"I see". Newmon is relieved to hear that Shawn's life is not in danger but he is also worried about his current state. "Can I go and visit him?" Newmon asked.

"Sure, I will take you there". The doctor guided Newmon to the room where Shawn is being kept, when Newmon entered with the doctor he saw a buff dark-skinned boy along with a short pale skinned girl standing next to each other staring at Shawn with concern written all over their face.

"You two must be Shawn's friends". Newmon said as he walked in, Marcus and Ann turned around and looked at Professor Newmon, and nodded.

"Hello Professor, my name is Marcus and this is my girlfriend, Ann" Marcus introduced him and his girlfriend to Newmon. Newmon nodded at them and looked at Shawn who seems to be sleeping peacefully on the bed but he knows that Shawn is in a coma.

"What about his mother, did you inform her?" Newmon asked Marcus.

"Yes, I informed her, she will be here in a few minutes she said". Marcus answered. Marcus knows about Shawn's mom and how she can be very unreliable so he really didn't believe her when she said she will be here in a few minutes.

"You two should go and check on that girl Natasha as well, she is also injured". Newmon said as he believed Natasha is also their friend.

"Sure we will do that". Marcus agreed and left with Ann to visit Natasha, once Newmon and the doctor were all alone, Newmon asked some questions about Shawn's condition.

The doctor soon left after checking up on Shawn leaving Professor Newmon all alone in Shawn's room, when he heard that Shawn received no injury he was glad but he got curious as well, with the speed and power that Shawn had been thrown by that blast, making out alive would be a big deal but now as he looks at Shawn's body, he sees no burses at all, there are only some cuts that have been covered by bandages.

'How is this possible?'. He questioned himself as he observed Shawn, as he was doing so he heard the door of the room slide open again so he lifted his head to look at the person who just entered.

He looked at the middle-aged woman with curly hair, who is wearing a lot of makeup, a short skirt, and a very revealing top, and wondered who she is?

"Who are you?" Newmon asked.

"I am Shawn's mother, is my son ok?" She asked with a tremble in her voice.

"Oh, you are Shawn's mother, I am sorry but Shawn seems to be in a coma, we don't know when he will wake up". Newmon answered back.

"By the way, who are you?" Shawn's mother asked.

"My name is Newmon, I am a physics professor, Shawn works as an intern in my lab". Newmon answered.

"Hello, my name is Debra". She introduced herself as well.

"Nice to meet you Debra. Come, have a seat". Newmon said and pointed at the chair next to him.
