In an illusion (2)

Lancelot who was in the car with his mother, was worried when he saw the tense look on his mother's face.

Being a woman, it's natural for her to panic in such a dangerous situation.

Especially when she has a child to protect.

With a tense look on her face, she lovingly caressed his face.

While praying in her heart that her dear husband is safe.

Lancelot already knows the future, his father and mother will die and there is nothing he could do about it.

The fact that he is too weak to affect the situation pained him.

He could only wait for his father to come back, he is rather curious to know how his father and mother died.

He still did not know that he is in an illusion.

Soon, his father who was now injured with blood flowing from his stomach area came rushing to the car alongside Steve and Jane, completely ignoring the injury as if it was nothing.

Before entering the car he pressed a remote and the gate of the house automatically opened.

He quickly opened the back door for Steve and Jane to enter, before opening the front door to enter.

Inside the car, Lancelot and his mother could hear the growls of a beast and were sure that the beast was chasing after the three.

As soon as Lancelot's father entered the car he started it and waited for some seconds for Steve and Jane to enter before zooming off in a very rough manner.

Lancelot's mother looked at his father and sighed, she only muttered "Dave sorry" while at the same time, sobbing and crying silently hoping for some miracle to happen.

Lancelot's heart ached badly when he saw the condition of his father and mother were in.

Just then, a crash sound could be heard at the back of the car, as the beast that was chasing after them, hit the car that was taking off at full speed,

The car swirled around roughly before Lancelot's father was able to stabilize the car and narrowly escape through the already-opened gate.

The beast chasing after them in a crazed manner wanted to overtake them, so instead of passing through the gate, it crushed the wall, breaking it, before quickly passing through the broken wall.

The wall was thick, but from the way the beast slammed its body to the wall and easily crushed it, one could easily tell that the strength of this beast is not normal.

Fortunately for them, they were able to increase the space between them and the beast, so the beast would not be able to easily catch up to them... Even so...

The speed of the beast is nothing to scoff at, its speed was very fast, and it was more or less the highest speed a normal unmutated cheetah can attain.

But unlike cheetahs which could run at a very high speed in a short period of time, this beast has a very high stamina that could keep it going at full speed for days!

Lancelot's Father continued to drive the car at full speed silently hoping that the fuel won't go down too soon.

He tried shaking off the beast by passing through many sharp turns, but no matter the direction, the beast was still able to trail them... Its senses are just too high.

It was then that Lancelot started hearing whispers from the back where Steve and Jane were sitting.

He did not know why, but a sense of premonition started rising in his heart... Something bad was about to happen.

He started praying silently in his heart, there was nothing he could do to help the situation, he was just a baby and could only watch and listen to what was going on around him.

His father continued to drive for an hour, trying to shake off the beast, but no matter what he did or the path they entered, the beast continued to chase them, and it did not look like the beast would stop chasing after them anytime soon.

Occasionally, Lancelot would hear whispers from the back, he did not know why, but he could feel that Steve and Jane were planning something... Something very bad.

Just then, he heard his father mutter "Zombies? Have a fucking Apocalypse started on our peaceful world... Why does it have to happen when my son is still young"

Everyone in the car looked through the window, only to shudder at the sight they saw.

Plenty of people could be seen walking aimlessly, their clothes and body were stained with blood, and some of them have an open stomach, as their stomach seem to have been eaten by something.

They were many of them chasing a sane woman who was shouting as she ran, she tried to avoid as many as she could.

Though this Zombies was not fast, it's common knowledge... Even in books and movies its a common knowledge that one needs just a scratch or a bite from these beasts to become one of them.

In the end, the woman got surrounded by the Zombies, they all pounced on her, and one of them dipped its hand to her eyes, and dug out an eyeball of her eyes, before munching on it like candy.

Some of the started eating the flesh on her hands and leg... Within minutes she became a Zombie.

Her body is even more scary than that of the other Zombies.

Everyone in the car gulped nervously, they imagined themselves in the woman's position before quickly shaking off that thought.

None of them were willing to be in the woman's position.

Meanwhile, the beast was still chasing after them, they did not let themselves get carried away watching the scene in front of them.

So Lancelot's father controlled his emotions and continued to drive as fast as he could, some times the car would crash into a few Zombies which would die on the spot after the crash... But he did not care, after all, these fellows are no longer humane.

Then suddenly, Steve, who was sitting quietly at the back said. "Sir, I have a solution, I know what we have to do for the beast to stop chasing us"
