Chapter 40: Obstruction

(slightly shorter chapter since it's mostly fighting. part 2 is tomorrow)

Shortly after Xue Tie's students leave, Xue Tie also begins making his way out to a city that the 7 Glazed Tile Pagoda is stationed in. The letter he is giving Ning Fengzhi is related to a meeting he wants to have regarding Xia Wei's circumstances. And With Fengzhi's fanboying, he is likely to show up.

Xue Tie spreads his wings that he didn't show off to his team otherwise they might have been directly demoralized as Qi Ming loses his uniqueness of flight, especially since his flight speed is so much faster/stronger. Though his cultivation is indeed higher, almost 20 levels, he also has the experiences of multiple bird type beasts memories regarding flight which makes his proficiency more innate.

As he heads out, after a few minutes, he finds a hammer flying past his head. He flies by it and looks down to see two cloaked figures just standing around. One of them grasps out with his hand and the hammer which went flying past him hits him from behind as he didn't expect it but also didn't care about it since it gives him a bit of an impression about the power of his would-be opponent.

What Xue Tie wouldn't expect is the sizable pain he experiences from the impact on his back. Causing minor cracks to appear on his back. They are quickly mended with some spirit power but this definitely makes Xue Tie more wary about his opponents as only Peak Emperors or low level spirit saints can cause him that level of damage. As a result, he is wary but not scared. In fact, he is itching to try out his new abilities

Xue Tie who had crashed onto the ground has a grin on his face which his would-be opponents can tell as their higher cultivation doesnt block out the shadow mist of his hood. They frown at the reaction. The one with a hammer steps forward and his rings only now shine out. 1 Yellow, 3 Purple, and Black. This identifies the unknown hammer man as a level 60 something Spirit Emperor. Likely a peak one if Xue Tie assumes correctly, otherwise the hammer itself is special but Xue Tie can't identify anything immediately unlike something like the Clear Sky Hammer which is big and bulky while also glowing with an aura. This at most has some strange symbols on it that Xue Tie cant identify.

"Do you know who you have offended?" The hammer man speaks up

"Huuuuuh? Your the one who attacked me. " he says confused.

"Hmph, the least of your troubles Blasphemer." The hammer man declares and charges forth at Xue Tie.

'Blasphemer? A religious type. I havent offended any gods just yet. They dont seem like ones sent by Asura or Rakshasha if they detected him at all.' Xue Tie thinks to himself, still confused as he raises his hands to block the regular attack of his enemy.

BAAM.

Xue Tie is sent flying a few feet but other than some strain in his hands he isn't too far off. He is confused how a seemingly regular attack was able to damage him last time but he doesnt bother to think on it.

Xue Tie uses his wings to rush forward and claws out with his first skill. The claws smack against the man's hammer. Embedding the glowing red claws on it.

It doesnt explode immediately, its only when the man gets close and is mid use of his first spirit skill that it explodes on him. The interruption along with the damage from the explosion causes a strong injury to the man.

The other who has been silent in the back waves his hand as 6 rings also appear on him. "Light Rye Bestow Grace" He calls out and a piece of Rye bread is made which he throws to his partner who catches it and swallows it in one fluid motion that indicates their long partnership.

The hammer man who had some burn marks on his slightly pale face is recovering quickly. Xue Tie does nothing to stop this as he analyzes his foes who also analyze him.

"He is stronger than reported, level 58. his defense and strength are also insane for his level. Even compared to a pure Assault system like me." The hammer man says while the other simply rolls his eyes and summons out another 2 pieces of bread.

"Dark Rye, Bestow Strength. CrispBread, bestow armor ", "Just don't be careless, we wouldn't want to disappoint our lord."

The Hammer man eats the dark bread and a multicolored biscuit like bread. He gains a red aura around him as well as a strange metallic sheen to his skin.

'I see, healing, attack buff, defense buff. They might have others or if based on Oscar, then even possible attack methods or self buffs that are on par with a set of time limited attacks. I better finish this fast and then interrogate them over why they are even bothering me' He thinks to himself as he unleashes his 4th ring.

"Tres". A red ring encircles both figures who are intrigued but also feel the 'sensing gaze' on their blood.

The hammer man charges forth, much more confident in his strength and defense now, he activates his first and third ring. The first increases the hammer's size and weight while the third gives it a blue glow that nicely contrasts the red aura from the Dark rye ability.

The hammer comes down and Xue Tie activates his third martial skill, Immutable but for a moment to greatly nullify the damage he takes. The hammer bounces off him and sends it's wielder back.

"Duo" Xue Tie applies the 2nd ring of his 4th skill and the enemy response was to throw his hammer at Xue Tie. who simply side steps it as it wasnt supported by any ability. But he keeps his senses on it as he remembers how he fell in the first place.

The Hammer man's 2nd ring glows and the hammer returns with massive force that Xue Tie dodges as he was already prepared. He sidesteps the hammer again, or at least tries but it homes in on him and crashes into his side, dealing much more power than when it's wielder struck with it.

"Humph, before my recurve Great Hammer, you are but an ant. You shall lose your life and your title here. Glory To The FOOD GOD" He calls out a haughty attitude but Xue Tie only has a headache.

"THATS WHAT THIS IS ABOUT? A title I didn't ask for but was given for me by regular people…..How pathetic. Any noteworthy Spirit Master knows about Asura, Rakshasha and The Sea God Poseidon. But nobody gives a shit about your pathetic food god. If he was truly great then he would be open minded to changes in the culinary world as that gives him a chance to spread his influence. But he would rather have it stay stale and pathetic like him." Xue Tie yells out in annoyance and decides that now that he knows who is responsible, he openly mocks him.

"You take that back you bastard. It is you who is undeserving of the title of our god. It is you who is overstepping your bounds and Blatantly showcasing your heresy."

"Heresy you say?" Xue Tie smiles.

"Then let me show you a proper god in the making"
