Soul Land 3: Dagger God Douluo

The day before his spirit awakening, Xie Xie has a dream. A dream of another world called Earth, a dream of another life. On that same day, a power awakens within him. The Anime Compendium of Martial Arts. The MC will be very strong for his age, but not overpowered. He will still have to struggle, train, and preserve through hardships to gain his power. He will not have any knowledge of any of the Soul Land books. Also, he will retain his core personality, as his 'dream' of another life is more akin to watching a movie than experiencing a whole other life, so he will still mostly act his age. Finally, he will have a very close relationship with Tang Wulin. As the story develops, they will become closer, and their dynamic would be more like the one between Killua and Gon than a Goku and Vegeta one. No Yaoi. Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Soul Land novels, nor do I own the cover. Basically, I don't own anything in this fanfic. Just like how I don't own my house anymore because my ex-wife Karen took it when she took the kids. P.S: This is my first time novel/fanfic, just trying to improve. Put constructive criticism in the comments or reviews, please cut me some slack.

The Day Before the Spirit Awakening

Narrator/3rd Person POV:

After much excitement and discovery inside his mindscape, Xie Xie finally woke up. As soon as he woke up, the servants around him surrounded him, bombarding him with questions, speaking faster than I click off a harem novel. My boy Xie Xie had enough, telling the servants, "Shut the heck up! Your shouting is freaking hurting my brain!" That got them to shut up, but not without a consequence. For you see, his father had heard him shout, meaning that he also heard him say the worst words ever known to childkind. Heck and freaking. Thankfully for our young not-really-a-hero, his father didn't seem to notice due to his concern over his son's wellbeing.

"Xie Xie! Are you okay?" his father asked. Of course, Xie Xie was a little surprised at the sudden warmth and attention he got from Fugaku Uchiha and Hiashi Hyuuga's stoic lovechild, but he answered nonetheless.

"I'm alright dad. I just had a pretty bad nightmare. Why are all of you so concerned?" He faked being unaware due to him instinctively wanting to hide his strange dream as well as the Compendium.

His dad sighed in relief before answering his question, mentioning, "We heard you scream and found you collapsed on the ground. I'm glad you're okay."

"Oh. I might have rolled off the bed during my nightmare. You seem to have changed, dad. What happened?" He responded with yet another lie, before changing the subject to the question he had on his mind since he woke up. I wouldn't blame him though, since, after his mother's death, his father had never been the same. He had become cold and withdrawn, always stoic and business-like, causing the relationship from father and son to be strained. However, he seemed to have regained some of his old personality after Xie Xie seemed to be injured. It seems kinda weird that he changed so much after one incident, but he might have been bipolar or something. Or maybe the author is just a shit writer. That's probably the answer.

Getting back to the story, Xie Xie's father looked at his son sadly, before responding truthfully. "After your mother's death, I've been a bad father. I didn't mean to strain our relationship, and only after seeing you seemingly injured badly, I've realized how much it would hurt me to lose you too. I'm sorry for being a bad father to you. I hope I can make it up somehow."

"Dad..."

"Xie Xie..."

They both repeated the other's name one more time, before hugging each other, crying. The combination of their MANLY tears created a horrifying illusion of waves crashing in a sunset, reminiscent of the illusion employed by one caterpillar-eyebrowed weirdo and his just as weird disciple. They were interrupted by a cough from one of the servants who couldn't take it anymore, causing Xie Xie's father to look at them.

"What is it?" He demanded.

"I'm sorry to interrupt you, Lord Xie Xiao, but you have many pressing matters to attend to." Xie Xiao, who we finally know not just as Xie Xie's father, but a human being with his own identity, huffed like a petulant child. He hugged his son one last time, before going off to work. He was naturally, a busy man, due to him being the leader of the Gourmet Food Corporation, a company dedicated to evaluating, and acquiring top-tier, gourmet, and expensive restaurants. It made a shit ton of bank because it already had an established reputation of having great food, and any restaurant owned by it would immediately be filled with die-hard fans. Sounds pretty fuckin shady to me, but I'm just a narrator so I have no opinion.

Xie Xie quickly shooed out the remaining servants and maids out of his room before deciding to go to sleep and explore the Compendium more.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Immediately after going to sleep, Xie Xie woke up in his mindscape and entered the Compendium. Finally getting a good chance to look inside and explore calmly, he found three different rooms excluding the library with the computer, which was the main room you find yourself in as soon as you walk in the door. Starting on the leftmost room, was the Earth Viewing Room. Basically, Xie Xie could rewatch the other life he saw in his dream. Pretty basic so far. The middle room was straightforward, and it was called the Entertainment Room. It had all the latest anime, manga, and webtoons. It was basically for if Xie Xie just wanted to watch or read something without it being through the view of someone else. It also included things that weren't shown in the 'dream' he had. Finally, the rightmost room was definitely the most useful. Its original state is a blank, white, room, but by connecting to the user's imagination, the interior can be changed. It is called the Training Room because it is meant to be used to train martial arts due to it being able to add things like punching bags or test dummies. Pretty fucking broken if you ask me. Being able to train while sleeping? Sign me up. The only downside is that it doesn't affect your body, only your mastery of the technique. It's still plenty overpowered though.

Naturally, our beloved MC, Xie Xie, chose to visit the Tr- wait what the hell? He actually chose the Earth Viewing Room? That's like the most boring of all of them! Anyways, he decided to walk into the Earth Viewing Room and rewatch his 'dream'. He immediately used the fast forward function he discovered to go to one of the best parts, trash-talking on CSGO. Our innocent little Xie Xie began to morph into a shit-talking god as he watched Mark, the person whose life he was watching, as he began to rise up the ranks in CSGO and become an even more arrogant and dirty mouthed cunt.

For the rest of the whole day and night, he watched Mark shit talk in Overwatch, CSGO, and League of Legends, and later on went to watch popular anime and read manga such as JJBA, Naruto, DBZ, Aqua gets gangban- wait a minute. That's not anime. A child should NOT be reading OR watching that type of shit. Well. At this point, he's already gone too far. I mean, an impressionable child who is prone to mimicking other people he sees as role models, was given access to porn and watched one of the greatest shit-talkers of the century play ranked Overwatch. I've pretty much lost all hope for him at this point. And as the hours went on, he became worse and worse, until the time finally came. The day all children and parents look forward to. The day that pretty much decides everyone's future. The day of the spirit awakening.

I felt that my previous chapter was so bland and serious, so I decided to edit it a little bit, as well as try to lighten up this chapter with some admittedly, shitty jokes.

Xie Xie will be the most corrupted, shit-talking, little piece of shit to ever grace the lands of Douluo. And yes, this will actually be relevant to the plot. After all, taunting is a useful battle tactic.

As always, review, give constructive criticism, and all that good shit. Gimme some story and title ideas too.
