Solitary Vampire
It’s the year 2357 on earth and the world has been at war in a three battlefront against humanoid lizards gifted by magic called dragonkin, aliens that had far more advanced technology called the Xalorians, and the remnants of angels and demons called ShadowFallen. No to mention the aggressive beasts that roam the universe Through the war humanity has grown too big to stay only on earth, having finally gone to space and occupied planets that one could only dream of, but the universe’s mysteries are far and wide but closer than you may think. Rosaline, a young 16 year old girl, had been given a book to her by her dead parents that had died on the battlefront against the dragonkin before humanity and the Xalorians signed a treaty in the name of ‘preventing’ war and to deal with the powerful dragonkin. Like that treaty had ever stopped war and the Xalorians being hostile towards humanity. But no matter how hard she tries to open the book it wouldn’t give her face, not even pouring acid. But one day just before she goes off to her new military school after middle school, she accidentally poked her hand and a drop of blood fell onto the book. A system appeared giving her a chance to become stronger, thinking this was a miracle. What she didn't know at the time was that it turned her into something not human. A Vampire. ********************* This novel was inspired by a lot of different media that I have seen so you may see some similarities between them. I will make sure to mention and give credit to the media when that happens. Updates everyday at 16:00 EDT I will probably be able to pick this novel back up again in December of 2026.
Savory Smell
As Roseline was about to get closer she got a notification from the system.

But Roseline ignored the notification as she looked at the scene.
Her nose, still catching the smell of blood, twitched as she started to move closer.
But Roseline soon snapped out of it and looked around.
'Huh Aiden got bullied, well damn.'
If she helps Aiden up she might get targeted as well but if she just leaves she might as well yell that she was on the side of them, which she couldn't considering her Star level and having no affinity.
Thinking about what to do, Roseline made a decision to help Aiden even if she made enemies as she was like him too. Both are weak.
Getting to Aiden's side, Roseline used all her strength to carry his heavy body to the hospital on campus.
Coming in, she talked to the medic in charge of the hospital named Lydia Reese.
Lydia Reese was around 5'7" feet tall with pink hair and green eyes.
"Where did you find this student?" Said in a gentle voice that matched her appearance.
"In the alleyway."
"Thank you for giving her time to bring him here. You can go now."
Hearing that she can go, Roseline went off to check on the notification she had received earlier.
Looking at it, she wasn't quite sure how to feel.
'What was the source of energy? Wounds? Nah. Then… blood?'
Though Roseline was human as of right now, she somewhat had no qualms about drinking blood if it meant getting. It was a different story for human flesh. She would rather kill herself than eat that.
Roseline went over to the library to get more answers and see if there was a species that had blood as their source of energy, other than mosquitos.
Looking through the various books, Roseline looked around to see if there were any books related to such a species.
The books didn't really seem like books as they were metal. Tablets that were thin and had a screen to view information.
Roseline had only found something similar to what the System had said but the only issue was that it was in the fantasy and theory area.
'Could I be a vampire? There was no real sighting of them and only exist in theory, but if I weren't them what the hell could I be?'
Going to a desk at the library, Roseline brought over some books on vampires to read.
The desk had a triangle shaped object on it that could silence both noise from outside getting inside and vice versa.
Turning it on, Roseline looked through the books, getting another notification on one of them

Roseline looked back at the book and read the title 'Vampires: Theory on The Creatures of The Night.'.
The System had said that the unsealing of her cells was happening but she felt nothing different, or at least she didn't realize it.
But still, finding the book got feedback Roseline kept looking through but not getting anything like that similar again.
Seeing that she got into a dead end, Roseline stopped and went to go back to her dorm, disappointed.
'The book about vampires got feedback so I'm I really one? Looks like so… So I have to drink blood now, but how do I get my hands on blood?'
As she thought about the question, she once again smelled the same smell of savory and rusty blood that got her attention.
The changes to her body as the unsealing of her cells caused her to recognize it more than before.
'Ah I should go see then, maybe I can use this chance.'
Going over and following the smell, Roseline encountered a student that seemed to get just as bullied as Aiden did. Looks like this school had a few bad apples, but it was just what she needed.
The student was unconscious which was perfect to keep her secret safe.
Being driven by instinct, Roseline went up to the student and dipped her finger in the blood, opening up the interface, and looking at it for a while before getting ready to lick the blood.
"Well here goes nothing…" Roseline said as she proceeded with putting the finger in her mouth like if she were eating frosting.
As she tasted the blood, it was as if something in her entire being had changed.
She could hear things from far away, see much clearer at night than before, almost like night vision, and among other things. But at the same time she hadn't realized yet that she had lost her ability to taste sweets, replaced with the taste of blood and meat high in protein.
The taste of the blood was satisfying and relaxing as if she had the best thing ever.
The pleasure that went through her was that of trying something so good that you could even live off it if you wanted, in this case she had too.
As she was relishing in the taste of blood, the System's interface appeared before her

'Huh even just a little blood? Seems quite vague.'
But before she could continue to think and pang of pain hit her head that felt like when getting the System.
Because she had felt such pain she was able to bear it for a while, getting out of the alleyway and running to her dorm.
No one was at the dorm and when she got in she felt an even bigger pain than before, as if her head was going to explode.
Falling onto the floor and curling up like a ball, clutching her head, the pain was so unbearable that she started breaking a few things and wailing slightly as she was trying to stay quiet.
She was awake for the whole event and it lasted before Lelia got back into the dorm, enough time to clean up the dorm from the mess.
Roseline was tried and hungry.
