Did X I X Die?

A bright light encompassed my vision and an intense wave of heat washed over me for just a split second then nothing, and when I woke up all I saw was the black.

My body was gone

And my mind was hazy

I had no idea how I ended up here

But I knew I was dead

No doubt about it

I know an explosion when I see one

And that most definitely was one

I would have been surprised if she wasn't a vampire

And for some reason, she would always talk to me

It was weird

I didn't mind

Well I kinda did

But I never said anything

Mostly because at the time I was 4'10 and had a very slim build

Even if she was anorexic I don't think I could win in a fight if she decided to take revenge one day

But surprisingly

She was a lot more interesting than I thought

We both really enjoyed making videos, like those AMV types

We also listen to the same music being dubstep

You can imagine my shock when she said that, I thought she would like more depressing types but hey, looks can be deceiving

And we both loved the saint's row series

It's an American game about gangs, guns, and military corruption, it's not GTA though

I have to be VERY clear

It's not GTA

And because we both lived pretty close to one another we hung out at each other's houses often

Safe to say we got along pretty well

And I came to enjoy her company

Terrible cook though

But that wasn't her fault

Because her parents were overseas and had been for a couple of years now

So she would come over a lot and I would cook for her

I'm a pretty good cook if I do say so myself

Her clothes didn't magically tear off when she would take a bite but she did say it was really delicious

Although when your entire diet consists of fast food

A home-cooked meal could taste like the heaven on earth

So I'd say we were pretty close, and that I knew her pretty well

Never thought she would blow up the school

Eh who am I kidding

I figured something like this would happen eventually

I mean, pretty much the entire class actively avoided her like the plague

Still

I'm gonna miss her

Anyway

Where am I

If I'm dead shouldn't I have been sent to like heaven or hell?

Why would I throw that away for some fantasy adventure?

Having to deal with bandits and demons and stuck-up nobles?

The Great Elroe Labyrinth is without a doubt the most dangerous place on the continent of Kasanagara and because of its vast and ever-extending structure of complex tunnels that run through the labyrinth, and its abnormal number of both unique and powerful monsters, this specific labyrinth connects to Daztrudia.

However, the sea that splits the two continents is infested with water dragons.

Meaning that going through the great Elroe Labyrinth is the only way to travel to each of the two continents, and while teleportation circles could be used, it was very costly, so most could not afford such expense and had to travel into the aptly named hell region.

And right above the Daztrudia entrance lays a place called the forest prosperity and death.

It's a vast area covered by the green that has been blessed by the gods, or so the locals say, expensive and rare magical herbs and metals could be found at every corner, mythical and magical beasts like unicorns, spirits, and even the great albino horned wabbit resided in the forest.

However just as its a very enticing area because of its vast collection of rare and sometimes mythical creatures and items, its also home to some of the most dangerous creatures to roam the planet, being that could shift the earth without the use of skills, beings that could raze entire towns to ash with naught but a single fireball, beings that could take over the minds of its victims and lure them to their caves to feast upon the unsuspecting adventurer or explorer.

But, greed is a supreme motivator, expeditions are carried out monthly by a team of expert swordsmen, mages, archers, healers, and other essential personal. The entire thing is funded by the local adventures guild that rests a couple of kilometers away from the edge of the forest, and if not for the amount of revenue that could be brought in by the items the expedition team brought in, then the forest would have been classified as a black zone by the kingdom.

Although there are some others whose greed has blinded them to the dangers of this area, either that or the desperate just have no other choice, there are many reasons as to why one would need lots of money. Debt, medical bills, criminal charges, the risk of homelessness, not enough food for one's family. There are many reasons, but many who venture into the forest unsanctioned never return, thus it has become illegal to go in without being a registered part of the expedition team.

Currently, 4 human adventures can be seen within a 'Safe' part of the forest where one of the many rare and profitable creatures make its nest.

Their horns while small and brittle are as of now, the best possible ingredients for speed, and agility potions, and even just the shaved-off parts of the horn could increase a potion's potency by 20%.

Their eyes are said to be able to increase one's own total MP by a multiple of 2, they also have minor healing properties that are enough to regrow limbs if the eyes are brewed into a potion.

Their hide is resistant to most elemental attacks, and even though it's weak combined with other factors the hide could be said to be the best defense against said elemental attacks.

And their meat is rather plain in comparison to the rest of the body as it has no special properties, nor does it have an amazing effect, but it is a delicacy in these parts and is said to be the best quality of meat in the world.

With all these amazing effects that could be gained with just a single Albino Wabbit the humans, demons, and elves have hunted the creature to near extinction.

And so a group of 4 humans decided to hunt for the very last of the species.
