Chapter 35: Leaving Hell

As the curtains rise they see only Kisho there in a lab coat. Kai sees the textbook holding the door as he feels his shoulders relax a little more. "Thanks for waiting. Time to go home?"

Kisho nods saying, "I sent the others ahead. Asher came back to let us know the van is warming up." He sees the glow about the two and begins to realize why the two took the last two tasks. Counting up his own pleasures while he was waiting he realized Tamaya and him got the most carnal pleasure out of the whole experience. He knew Ivory and Evelyn must have done something like that to get clothes. Fia and Kai only got this glow about them now. "Sorry we don't have extra shoes."

Fia grins, "If need be I can carry my…" she stops herself realizing they were leaving this bubble, "I can carry you Kai if you like."

A blush crosses his face as he glances down at her shoes saying, "I would hate for you to break a bone now." He offers his hand which she gently takes as the three head out of this hell hole.

Kisho grabs each textbook as they cross each threshold, unable to imagine normal life anymore after this, but at least it would be a life with Tamaya.

As they come out the front door the weather seems to have calmed. He sees Tamaya's face beaming at him as she waves from the passenger seat. Suddenly everything slows down. All of them hear a crack as Tamaya's face freezes before she slumps over in her seat.

There were screams as everything became a blur. Kisho ran for Maya quickly holding her in his arms as he held her face up. There a single drip poured down her face where a bullet had lodged in her head. Her eyes open but already lifeless. "Nononono….Maya? Maya it's gonna be okay."

Kai was quick to get Fia in the van as he looked about for where the shooter could have come from. For a second he saw a shadow move as a light that made no sense shone for a split second on a drone with a lethal attachment. Evelyn looks over at Asher terrified. He quickly worked his way up to the drivers seat demanding Kai and Kisho get inside. Fia moved to the back seat as Kai jumped in shutting the door.

The yelling finally broke through to Kisho as Asher tapped his shoulder. "We-we have to go to the hospital!" He picked up Maya's lifeless form sitting in the front passenger seat shutting the door. He felt that spark of chaos inside of him as he held the back of her head.

Kai heard a ding from Tamaya's phone that was charging. He picked it up gazing at the message in terror.

Shock. 

Kisho denied the truth even as the doctors gave one look at her pale corpse and said their condolences. The police came, taking their statements but no one believed their story. The girl was shot, but these people were clearly out on some wild bender. They crossed the wrong people and things happened. She had no close friends or family other than Kisho. It was simple to forget this case especially when money reached certain hands.

They had to drag Kisho away from her corpse. Getting him home he stared at his bed remembering their first and last time together in that trap. In his hands he clutched her friendship bracelet he made her all those years ago. Fia curled up with Kai in his room as Asher and Evelyn got some clothes from their place crashing in Kisho and Kai's living room, not daring to leave Kisho alone. They removed Kisho's door for his own safety.

Kai showed Fia and the others the text that appeared on Tamaya's phone realizing this twisted game wasn't done.

All common humans, eliminated.
