Chapter 2: Shop Window
Arriving at the light they see windows into a warehouse storefront. They come around to the door and try it. Kisho breathes a sigh of relief as the door opens ringing a little bell. "Helloo?" he calls out timidly as they all rush inside. The door shuts behind them as they all breathe a sigh of relief feeling the heating of the building.
They start to glance around as no one comes to greet them. This front room is bare. On the wall are various house samples. There are only a few old chairs for waiting customers, a simple check out counter and a snack station that looks bare. Kai is quick to check the cupboards below the empty popcorn maker but doesn't see much except for extra coffee cups and dust. Evelyn sees the bell at the counter and taps it three times. They wait a moment but no one comes.
Tamaya seems to dance a little in place as she says, "The lights just turned on? Where is somebody?" She glances around and decides to ask nervously, "Do you guys see any signs for a restroom?" They all shake their heads.
"If they have one it is probably this way." Asher points to the only door not to the outside that says Employee's Only in big bold letters.
Tamaya hesitates as Kisho smiles saying, "I'm sure it will be fine. Besides in this storm it's understandable. I also kinda need it so not a bad idea." They head off to go find the restrooms as the others quickly follow, finding nothing of use in here and all curious as to who turned on the lights.
The restrooms are just past the door Tamaya and Kisho quickly use them as Kai's tummy grumbles. Still seeing no one as they all decide to take their turns using the facilities. Getting past the lobby they see the ceiling height change in this small hallway slowly revealing the warehouse they are in. None are eager to wander alone.
"Okay we've checked that off the list." Kai says as he tummy grumbles again, "Suppose we should find the breakroom in this place. They gotta have a vending machine, fridge or something right?" He opens up the door at the end of the hallway as they gawk at the size of this place.
