Titanic Victory

As the beam of absolute destruction carves a path of devastation towards me at a speed faster than I could ever hope to run, I begin to run out of options.

There is no escape. My only hope is to find a way to deflect it or dodge it once it approaches. Maybe with enough luck, its time will run out as long as I can evade it once. This beam may be deadly, but even the Cyclops himself can't keep it up for long, as I can tell from the straining shining eye that it is taking all of his willpower to keep it up this long.

So as it approaches, I decide to give something a shot. I know my body, no matter how tough, won't be able to resist it, and I doubt even this incredibly evolved spear could either, and not wanting to test that possibility, I need to try to divert it without touching it.

So the best bet is to hit it with enough force to either dissipate the beam or hold it off long enough that the Cyclops can no longer endure holding it.

With that plan in mind, I stand firm, planting my feet in the ground so hard it cracks the earth; I tighten the muscles in my arms as I grip my spear with all my strength as the veins pop from each arm and the wood from the spear creaks in indignation.

My mind calms as I filter out all unnecessary thoughts, focusing so the only clear thing is the approaching beam and what I need to do to stop it. So with the tension in my arms, I pull them back with every fiber of my being, feeling the literal energy within my body going into the spear and the strike I will unleash.

Then I release.

My spear thrust forward, bringing with it no sound, no theatrics, and no nothing as it simply moves forward almost slowly as if inch by inch. Yet it actually happened in a single second, like time stood still for my strike.

And then I look.

There I see the amalgamation of energy created from my strike pushing against the oncoming beam of destruction that emanates from the cyclops as both forces of energy contest against each other for dominance.

The energy from my strike is just pure force, the pressure created from the speed and strength exerted by my spear and body when it contacted the natural energies of the world. It has no color, being clear, almost see-through in nature, yet the deadliest and most forceful of any energy in existence.

It pushes against the most destructive energy, and they contest against each other, the Cyclops exerting even more force into his eyes, trying to squeeze out every lost drop that he can to win the contest and wipe me from existence.

The Cyclops screams as he pushes himself to the brink as pain washes over his oversized body, and the light in his eye begins to fade, the energy powering his beam dissipating as he can no longer hold it.

And with that, my force of energy claims victory overpowering the beam and erasing it from view as charges forth into the distance, destroying and uplifting everything it its path, far beyond what I can see. Leaving behind an abyss that treads deep just as far as goes into the horizon.

My strike just created a new landmark.

The strongest strike I have ever done, leaving my body tired and wracking in pain as I slightly convulse due to the tightness of my tendons and muscles. The spear in my hand wobbles in protest due to the overwhelming energy it held.

The Cyclops is in no better shape as it is bent over, holding its eye as blood seeps from it, and he howls in pain, with ragged breaths that escape between each painful yell.

Yet this battle is not over, for both of us are still alive, so it continues until only one remains breathing. And in this regard, I hold the advantage as I can always come back.

So as I steady my breathing, I step forward one step at a time. My direction, obviously being the Cyclops. I regrip my spear as I stretch my fingers to lose the tension and reaffirm my strength as it slowly comes back to me.

As I get closer, the Cyclops fully stand back up, letting go of his eye. The eye now blood red with veins popping out of it, clearly still in pain.

But he doesn't pay it attention now that he realizes I am still alive and still a threat. So seeing that he is nearby a small forest, he grabs up a fistful of trees to wield in his hand.

Then he rears back his arm in a baseball pitch, even bringing one leg up off the ground. And like a pro, he slams his foot back onto the ground, indenting it, spreading spiderweb-like cracks all around, and even causing a small earthquake.

The most dangerous thing was that his arm came forward like a whip as he released the multitude of trees in his hand towards me. The debris and trees hurling toward me like a kid that threw a pile of dirt rocks. If that dirt and rocks were enough to destroy an entire city if thrown.

Sensing the immediate danger, I take off in a sprint toward the Cyclops. I ready my spear as the trees and debris hurtles closer and closer.

And once I am in the midst of everything thrown, I sidestep and dodge what I can, weaving through the thrown items like a dancer. Yet it is not enough, so with a speed no mortal man could ever reach, my spear in my hand strikes out repeatedly to knock away or destroy anything I can't dodge.

Then like a bullet, I appear on the other side of the raining debris, still fast approaching the Cyclops. My path undeterred, and my will not broken, as I make my way closer.

The Cyclops yells in a rage as he, too, stomps on the ground causing more quakes, then leaping forth into the air to land on me as if squashing a bug.

Seeing the enormous body of the cyclops in the air and rapidly approaching me, intent on landing right on top of me, I stop and stand still.

I then ready my spear once more. This time for the kill.

The Cyclops approaches closer, his body blotting out the sky, leaving me in total darkness, so I just close my eyes and feel the wind.

I bring my spear back, I step forward, and then I release. Keeping it simple, my spear thrusts forward. Its speed is normal like a regular spearman doing a regular thrust. Yet what comes from it is anything but normal.

For the aftermath speaks for itself.

Only blood rains.
