The Hunt

After having started falling from the sky towards the unending abyss, Arthur started to constantly use his thrusts from his spear to create a pure force to push him through the air until he found solid land he could land upon.

Once he landed on the ground, creating a large crater from the impact, he just laid there, catching his breath and relaxing after having another intense day.

Now he only had two more monsters to fight, and this realm would then be empty except for himself. He will have emerged as the ultimate survivor and victor, having triumphed over the most vicious and deadly beasts to have graced this world.

But he has to actually find these last two beasts, as both of them remain ever elusive. One tunneling and digging in the ground below, reaching unknown depths and being difficult to find. The other swimming the vast seas, having untold freedom in the salty waters of this realm, being the only fish alive.

The challenges to not only find them but also beat them in their natural habitats is extreme, but it can be done, for Arthur has already overcome similar challenges thus far.

And so he stands up, grips his spear tightly, and walks off. Beginning his hunt.

So another hundred years pass before he finds himself one of the two that are left. Over seven hundred years have passed since he came to this realm. Though to Arthur, time is now irrelevant. It matters not to him, as he feels it less and less as time comes and goes.

The important thing is he found the elusive fish. The Gillip is an SS-rank sea monster that looks like an oversized clownfish.

I found it in the seas as expected, and it took practice, but I was able to eventually traverse the seas with ease once I was able to walk and run on water. It took a lot of practice, dozens of years worth. But with muscles, training, and force of will, I was able to accomplish it. And with that it made it easy to search for the sea beast.

In fact, it actually found me while I was traversing the clear waters. It seemed angry that I was trespassing upon its seas. So it attacked, and quite viciously at that. Instantly sending dozens of tsunamis my way, trying to overwhelm me, crush me, and drown me.

But simple water is no match for my spear, as I just trusted forward, creating an opening in the oncoming tsunami waves for me to pass through. And this made the funny fish even angrier.

It opened its weird mouth, and then its throat undulated, releasing a sonic cry that almost busted my eardrums, causing me to clench my teeth in pain. But that was not the true attack, only the encore.

As a wave of spatial-like energy cascaded out of its mouth, flowing towards me at a quick speed, chaotically sending the water it touched to sporadically twist and sprinkle through the entire region.

The attack not only tore apart anything it touched but sent the torn pieces through spatial rifts to nearby areas. This was an attack I couldn't take lightly, as that could even harm my sturdy body.

But, by now, I have gotten confident in my abilities, so I don't back down, yet I need to play this smart. As this beast is strong, with mysterious abilities.

Arthur stretches his fingers as he twirls his spear between his hands, his feet standing firm on the water, breaking the physics of this world with his might alone. His gaze hardens as he takes the spear in one hand and brings it out wide, straight out from the side of his body, pointing to the right.

That spatial attack comes closer, eventually reaching within the range of Arthur's spear. And then he swings the spear with one hand in a wide arc as if batting a baseball.

The spear comes into contact with the spatial attack, and both struggle to move for a second as they vie for dominance. Yet the spear overwhelms the spatial energy, dispersing it as the spear continues to move past the attack. The energy left over from the spear's movement ripples across the sea, evaporating it and causing a massive split in the ocean in the direction the spear was moving.

"Huff." Arthur lets out a small breath as he relaxes his tensed muscles and lightly waves around his spear to stretch his arm after the swing.

"SCCCCRREEEEAAACCHHH!" A loud cry comes from the Gillip as it realizes its attack failed, and not only that but its precious seas has been damaged in the process.

It then dives down into the water, moving very fast as it wades through the sea towards Arthur. This time it seems to want to either devour him whole or use its large physical body to crush him to paste.

The fish moves fast and easily as if the sea does not impede it but instead fortifies it as it moves. Even with my eyes, I find it hard to keep track of its movement in the water.

So this time, I need to rely on my instinct, as I feel for when it will attack, and keep my spear at the ready.

The fish soon stops its erratic movements, meant to confuse and hide its motives. And that is when I realized that it wasn't actually gonna come try to attack me up close. The clownfish like beast is smart enough to play feints.

It actually started to create a vortex in the water, a whirlpool of sorts, but one much deadlier. The Gillip had started to release particles of spatial energy in the water as it swam to create the vortex, making it not only a water-based whirlpool but a spatial one. Not only do you get sucked down into it with incredible water pressure to face, but the tearing of space and probably being sent to god-knows-where.

The Gillip continues to swim to spread out the spatial energy and to speed up the vortex wanting to suck me in. Even with my strength, it is hard to resist as the water begins to pull me downward into it. I can already feel the small bits of spatial energy prickle my skin, trying to tear me apart, piece by piece.

This will be difficult!
