Chapter Three

I S O B E L B E N N E T

* 7:00AM* -ALARM GOES OFF-

I woke up in a terrible mood. I quickly get dressed. As I didn't return to the pageant last night, Stefanie filled me in on who won. My phone starts ringing. It's an unknown caller. I pick up without hesitation.

"Hello?"

"I have Joshua St. John. If you don't bring me your mothers grimoire to the Mystic Falls High School basement by midnight, he will die-" he hangs up.

Who was that? And why doe she/he want my mother's grimoire? I'm gonna need help.

I walk into the town square with Stef and Annie, my two best friends, and announce a meeting that is happening at 2pm. Before the meeting, I start the search for my mothers grimoire but no luck. Then I realise, I'm a witch - duh- so I use a locator spell to find it and luckily, I succeed. Who could this unknown caller possibly be?

The clock tower strikes 11pm. One hour and this will all be over. As I step in to Mystic Falls High, with 5 supernatural creatures behind me in case I cry for help, I make m way towards the basement stairs. I walk down the stairs as quietly as possible.

"Have you got it?" I hear a voice exclaim.

"I wont give it to you until you show me who you are!" I almost shout, my voice echoing.

A dark shape steps out o the gloomy, dark corner. My jaw drops and my body goes numb, eyes filling with tears...
