Volume 5 Chapter 1
Volume 5: Defection of a teammate and Otsusuki trouble.
"Our mission will last for about an week and half. But just to be safe, pack the necessities for two weeks." Tenten told the three girls infront of her. When, it comes to kunoichi, currently these three are the weakest of this generation.
Not, weekest, but least developed.
Ino Yamanaka, she has decent support skills and good at psychology and poisons. But her direct combat power is very low.
Sakura hadn't used her main talent chakra control yet. And though she could strengthen her body via chakra control, she still lacked effective speed and combat skills.
And finally Hinata, She maybe the strongest, of three of them but she lacked confidence.
After telling about the details of the mission, Tenten told them to meet her at the village gate in the noon.
They departed the village around one after noon.
"What's the maximum speed you can go ?"
Tenten asked them.
"I can go faster." Ino was the first one to reply.
"I think I can go a little faster."
Hinata just nodded.
"Well set up your maximum speed."
But then Sakura asked a question.
"Can't you just teleport ?"
"The teleportation jutsu doesn't work like that. It is actually called shambles. I need my markers to be on the spot to be able to switch pleaces with them."
"So, it's more like substitution ?"
"Yes, but without any limits in range."
We silently went on. By the time of dusk, we reached in the port city. After talking with the merchant ships, Tenten decided to stay there for the night.
"We will stay in an inn for tonight . At five in the morning, we will depart in a merchant ship." Tenten informed them.
"I have seen some inns while we were scouting." Ino said.
"Alright, then let's go."
Ino and Sakura stayed up in a room and Tenten and Hinata stayed in another.
After eating dinner they went to sleep. Early in the morning, they left to board the ship.
"Is there anyone here who is sea sick ?" Tenten asked.
"....No ?"
"What kind of Ninja will be sea sick ?" Sakura asked.
"... Nevermind !"
"A-ano I -I think G-guy Sensei is sea seak." Surprisingly Hinata answered.
"How do you know ?" Tenten asked.
"We h-had a jo-joint mission."
"Oh !"

"How many days it will take us to reach land of waters ?" Ino asked.
"If everything goes right, then probably by monday ." Tenten answered.
"Five days ?"
"Yes, but you don't have to worry. We have enough supplies."
"What do you mean if everything goes right ?"
"There are many different things in the ocean. Weather problems, pirates and sea monsters. So....well, if the ship got caught up in these mess, then it might delay our arrival. Just to be safe, You all know water walking don't you ?"
""Yes."" Ino and Hinata said in unison.
"I can, but I just learnt it recently. So I can't maintain it for long." Sakura hesitantly replied.
"It's okay. I was just asking for your safety."

"It's the devil's maw ! Captain ! We have lost the course !"
The commotion started on the third day. The first three days were smooth sailing. The ship stopped at two other ports. But the team didn't required anything. So they mostly stayed on the ship.
But on the third day, they faced a trouble.
"What's happening ?" Tenten asked the captain.
The capitain wanted to shout at the girl. But after looking at her vest and headband he stopped and replied. " It's the 'devil's maw' . It's an area in the sea where compass doesn't work. And the place is full of undersea rock mountains. Not to mention the violent sea current, once a ship caught up in it, it's over."
After listening to the captian, Tenten replied, "Can you maintain the status quo for a while, I can take the ship outside of this place."
"Sure ! But try to be quick "

Tenten teleported the ship outside the dangerous region. After that it was a smooth sailing. The condition of land of water due to the civil war was not the best. But still, the new Mizukage has done a great job improving the atmosphere.
After reaching the port, they were confronted by some mist chunins.
"It's the speed witch ! State your business in the land of water !"
"We are here on an official mission." Tenten spoke calmly. Then handed over the legal permission and the identity documents.
"What's speed witch ?" Ino spoke .
Tenten scouled. "It's the stupid tsuchikage. He gave me that name on bingo book !"
"They are telling the truth." The Chunin reluctantly.
There is a rule to getting into another major land. The five major lands, fire, wind, lightning, earth and water. There are five major hidden villages in these five lands. There are many shinobis of one hidden village, on whom the other villages might have warrented a bounty. For example, Kakashi has bounty on kiri, iwa and kumo. Suna has froze his bounty due to the alliance. I have bounty from iwa. So I can't enter land of earth unless I get permission from either daimyo or tsuchikage. But to enter other lands I only need permission from Hokage. Unless I entered kiri, I don't need anyone's permission. There's still unofficial black market where anyone can declare a bounty. But it's illigal. To avoid conflict, there is also a system of mutual agreement between major villages and small villages.
Where shinobi from the major villages can enter the villages and the lands without any permission.
Ofcourse Anbu missions are different. But it's the basic legal details on how shinobi works.
After confirming everything, we went to meet our client.
