The unknown and a clue

Paul and Markus had been working together to find out more from the gangster they found. But to be fair, he is a new kid in the game. So the information that can be gathered from him was less, but Paul and Markus were able to get the locations they met up.

"Ben," I got a call from Paul.

"Hi, did you find anything crucial?"

"Yes, we showed him some photos and he identified Liam and Venom,"

"Did he know any details about them?"

"Not apparently, he knows a few places they meet up. But I am surprised that no one came to bail him out," said Paul. As we were hoping someone will come to bail him out.

"So it means we can use him to get information?"

"Maybe we can, I will see what we can do, Ben,"

"Thank you for your hard work, Paul. Much appreciated,"

"It's my duty and something I have to do for Dave. But take extra steps for the safety of you all,"

After that call, I went and gave the message to Alex and discussed what we will do about safety measures. We thought of inviting Sarah and Meg's parents to live with us for the time being. But my father had a better idea as we all live next door to each other. So I called Sarah's father.

"How are you, Son,"

"I am doing fine uncle, I hope you two are doing good,"

"Yes, so how are things with the matter at hand?"

"About that father, we do have a lead, but.."

"What is it, son?"

"Hmm.. I would like if you and mother would come and stay with my parents for a few months for safety reasons,"

"So you mean the people we are dealing with are dangerous?"

"Yes father, they might be around us unknown to us. So your's and Meg's parents are a concern to us,"

"Oh I see, I can understand,"

"So Meg's parents will stay with Alex. You can meet together as we all are neighbors to each other," I said in a way to reduce overthinking.

"I will talk with my wife and see,"

"And father, Paul also seconds this idea. So I hope you will really consider this option at this time,"

After that, I went around looking for Markus to make the preparations for the parents' move. My father had a separate wing in the house so that Sarah's parents can live in peace. Alex had taken care of Meg's as they wanted to be sure of their daughter's safety they agreed at once.

My phone rang at the same time, to see a call from Jonathan.

"Hi, brother,"

"Ben, Guess we are shifting back soon,"

"Really, that's good news,"

"Don't tell the girls and that silly boy. I want to give him a surprise,"

"ok, Jonathan. But there is something you need to know,"

I told him about the new developments and the information we had found. As I invited his family to stay with us at our home till the issues are solved and till I help him find a new home. Luckily he agreed as there will be many babysitters - for him to have some quality time with his wife.

With all this, I want about to find Markus. Who was with Alex at the same time checking the security footage.

"Is everything alright?" I asked them as they looked a bit worried.

"Sir, there is a little situation,"

"What do you mean,"

"Someone had delivered a package to Ms.Sarah," said Markus with a worried look.

"And there was no name who sent it," said Alex looking at me.

Which made me rush to Sarah's room quickly, with Alex and Markus coming behind. As entered her room I saw already opened the box and holding a photo in her hand while tears streaming down her cheeks.

I went to her quietly and hugged her while taking a glimpse of the photo. Dave was in the photo with some person that I don't know. I looked at Alex and mouthed "Paul".

After a while, she calmed down and let us inspect the box. The box contained a few items like a car key, a handwritten note addressed to Dave, and a photo. Alex and Markus with the team tried to find out who delivered this but we were out of luck. As the guy wearing a mask and sunglasses with a long-sleeved coat.

"Ben, is this guy trying to help us or threaten us?" was all Alex asked after reading the note, written to Dave.

If I am to be fair, yes I was confused too. Paul came in about an hour later. He and his team went through the box and found a second note with different handwriting saying, "I mean no harm. Hope this can help you find who is behind Dave's...."

It's really hard to patch all these pieces together, but first things first. We have to find who sent this. Paul who had better experiences with these said,

"I bet he will bring something again,"

"Yes, I think so too He hand delivered this himself," said Markus making a point.

"Next time will be the same," said Paul looking at the note written.

"Ben, did Sarah remember anything, related to the person in the photo?"

"Sorry Paul, she doesn't. And as you also cannot place him in your memories.."

"You think he worked at the company?" said Alex, filling the gaps and making us look at each other.

"I think uncle might know, I will go and visit him. But you guys please be sure to take care of the girls"

After Paul left, I asked Sarah if she wants to go home. But she insisted on staying as she wanted to do some work with her team. So I accompanied her all the time, as I felt uneasy letting her be alone.
