Liam and Maverick

It was mysterious why Maverick wanted to meet Liam suddenly. With a bit of doubt, Liam agreed to meet him at his grandfather's beach house. He felt strange and overwhelmed as he met his own cousin for the first time.

While preparing the refreshments, he gave instructions to his security team to keep a lookout. He wasn't really sure about Maverick's movements. Maybe he could have some tricks on his sleeve. A knock on the door gave a little nervousness to him.

"Hi" was all he said as he opened the door.

The guy in front of him would have looked like his twin brother if he had not had the plastic surgery. While Maverick was surprised to see a different person.

"Hmm... do you like to go to the porch or stay in the living room?"

"The porch,"

While Maverick settled Liam bought in the snacks and the food.

"You look different," said Maverick.

"Well, I would have been exactly like you if I didn't have the surgery,"

"What surgery?"

"After Sarah's accident, my face got a wound. While preparing for getting plastic surgery to repair the scar, grandfather had instructed the doctors to give me a new look,"

"Grandfather?"

"yes, you have only seen him from one side. I had a hard time accepting myself after coming out of that surgery. And to know this was done without my consent,"

"So he treated us both differently?"

"Yes,"

"Hmm... grandfather has made me meet Venom,"

"I know,"

"Aren't you worried?"

"Why should I?"

"That I might plot something with him to harm you?" Maverick looked at Liam, who was looking far away.

"I don't care," he said with a sigh.

"What about your girl fri... sorry finance, won't she be worried?"

"I called off the engagement, and who would want to be with such a woman,"

"Hmm, I guess no one,"

This made Liam look at Maverick, "have you met her?"

"Yes, once. You are right she is just a spoiled woman, who only cares about herself,"

"She made me do things I never wanted,"

"Like?"

"She was my mentor's sister, a sweet little girl who was quiet as a mouse,"

"Did you love her?" asked Maverick making Liam gasp.

"Never, I only loved her as an elder brother,"

"Can you really be like that, I mean?" Maverick has never been in a relationship or been with a girl a lot for that matter.

They talked for a few hours about their grandfather and how their lives were different from each other. Yes, this was all due to my grandfather's revenge plan. He had everything planned and specially molded Maverick to continue if I didn't.

I was actually feeling sorry for the way he had to live. A solitary lifestyle apart from the world. He had missed a lot of things in life. In reality, Liam was angry with his grandfather. Because of his grandfather, they both had to suffer a lot and do a lot of crimes on his behalf for him. Liam never wanted but to protect his father he had no choice, but to Maverick it was the only thing he knew.

Liam didn't disclose all the plans that grandfather has to Maverick. He still didn't trust him and the more he saw Maverick he felt angry with his grandfather. Specially because of the plastic surgery he had to go through.

Maverick was on his way with his team. He was feeling sad and uncertain about things, Liam said. But why would he lie, he had been with his grandfather all his life.

"I want you to find out everything about my grandfather within three days,"

"Yes, Leader,"

One thing he realized was, he had been wrong about Liam. In fact, Liam had suffered a lot. But was it really due to his grandfather that he suffered? What must have Liam gone through seems to be beyond what he can imagine.

Maverick when to his room and went through the documents one by one. He felt unsure if he really knew his grandfather. The more he read it, the more he felt guilty for being, harsh to Liam. He was wrong.

The documents contained details from the time his grandfather had done wrong, and the details about the murder of Dave, forced by his grandfather. As well as from his so-called fiancee. A woman with no character.
