Mateo's POV

•••••••••••••••••

"I am tired of her pranks, can you believe that she nailed a disemboweled rat to a stick and placed it on my desk, A FREAKING DISEMBOWELED RAT!!," I exclaimed and Lucas burst out laughing. He laughed till he almost fell off the chair.

"I like her already, I have never seen someone like her, she's definitely your match." Lucas continued laughing and it became irritating.

I glared at him, "Get out." I said coldly. he stood up tears visible in his eyes and a grin, he looked at me and burst out laughing. I stood and chased him out, running like a mad man, he stumbled and almost fell. Suddenly the door opened and mother walked in.

"Oh my God," she exclaimed as Lucas almost crashed headlong into her but diverted and crashed into the wall falling on his butt.

My mum just stared wide eyed with her hands on her chest, she gave at me with an 'explain this nonsense' look, I flashed Lucas a look and he quietly limped out holding his butt.

"Is this how you behave Mateo Rafael Silvetti." Mother screamed furiously at me. I facepalmed myself, I hate when she says my full name.

"Mom, the company is in a good shape, it is still the No.1 most flourishing company in the country and I am still the in the list of the top most eligible bachelor in the country," I recited flatly. That has been my usual anthem anytime my mom starts nagging me, dad never had a problem, he only nags me when it drops slightly.

"I know, when are you going to get married? You are 27 years old and you are not getting any younger, I want a grandchild or children," she nagged with her hands on her waist.

I visibly cringed. I always knew she'd bring up this topic, since she started nagging me about getting a wife, I would always have the creepy feeling of being watched.

"You have a new PA... uhmmm....Dalia Marissa Banks I think and she is giving you a hard time, why didn't you fire her?" she said trying to look nonchalant.

See what I mean, she even knows her full name. She watches.

"That doesn't concern you mom, get to the point." I looked bored then she smirked.

"You like her, don't you? That's why you didn't fire her," she smiled so wide that I feared her lips would tear.

  *Cough*

I choked on my saliva, "Christ, mom give me a break here, not every girl is wife material."

On the contrary, Marissa was ready to skin me alive if she ever gets the chance.

The door opened and Marissa walked in holding a file. Mother glanced at her then she peered, a flash of regonition crossed her face.

"Aren't you Mrs Lopez?" Mom asked as she peered at her curiously. Marissa had a confused look on her face before it was replaced with surprise.

"Oh no, I am her daughter Marissa and you are Mrs Silvetti!" she gasped.

"It's been forever since I saw you last." Mother hugged her smiling.

"We no longer bear Lopez, its Banks now," Dalia smiled back.

"How are your parents?"

"My dad is dead while my Mom lives in Kessington now," she replied making me and Mom hold our breath.

"Oh dear, I am sorry for your loss."

"Thank you ma'am."

"It's Mom," Mother corrected her and she blushed before taking her leave.

"That's the girl you bullied back in highschool," Mom glared at me.

 "MOM!"

"Oh shush Rafael, she's beautiful, I can already see my grandchildren," she whispered softly with dreamy eyes, I facepalm myself.

"Mom, leave me alone and go pester Diego," I half yelled at my ignorant mother who was still dreaming about children, why don't she go pester Diego, he has been sleeping around with girls since he turned eighteen.

"Oh shut up and stop being dramatic. By the way we, I mean I and your dad give you till this year to find a wife or you're getting married to any girl we choose for you." She said with an air of finality and walked out the door.

Hell! They can't come in here and tell me what to do. I was pissed. "Can't believe dad had a hand in this." It's not that I don't have someone in mind, she will skin me alive if I so much as give her a wink

My private phone rang and I answered.

"buongiorno hermano," Diego greet. He never greets me unless he's up to something.

"Get to the point," I bellowed.

"Hey man, chill," he chuckled at me, "What did Mom tell you? She threatened me before going over to your place."

I exhaled, "I won't give you any information if that's what you are looking for," I hung up and walked to my large glass window overlooking the city.

The door opened and someone walked in. The clickety clack of heels on the tiles meant it was a woman, I turned to see Marissa standing with a file in her hand.

"Gotta go Diego, talk later."

"You have a meeting at 2:30pm with the CEO of Kendrick construction company and a business lunch at 3pm with Miss Valentine," she informed me, I nodded.

"You're coming with me to the business lunch," I concluded and she turned abruptly.

"I am sorry sir but I have a lunch date to go to," she politely said and my eyes darkened at the thought of her going on a date with someone else.

"No, you are going to the lunch with me, I will carry you if I have to."

She scoffed, "As if you can," she whispered inaudibly but loud enough for me to hear. I smirked at her and stride towards her, trapping her in-between the door and me.

"Oh I will."

I leaned so close to her face that I could almost kiss her, her lashes fluttered frantically, "What are you doing? Back off." Her cheeks turned pink and I smirked seeing how much I was having an effect on her. I was getting high in my fantasies when she did the most unexpected thing.

*Burrrrrp*

She burped on my face making me almost gag. "What did you eat for breakfast, gosh!" I asked holding my nose and waving my hands, clearing the air.

She grinned, "that's what you get for invading my personal space. For a moment I thought you were going to kiss me, yuck! And I had croissants for breakfast." She frowned but her cheeks were still pink.

"Would you have loved it if I had kissed you?" I asked half curious, she grimaced and put on a disgusted expression.

"I'd rather kiss my ex than kiss you, I might get boy germs."

I glowered at her for calling me a boy, "I am a man."

"Right, man germs, oh and next time, don't invade my personal space next time or I might actually vomit on you," she warned.

 "Am I that repulsive."

She shrugged, "you'll know when you look in the mirror, I never said so."

"Then I am irresistible," I said,  flexing my muscles, she shut her eyes immediately.

"Oh please I have seen more muscles on the chicken i ate yesterday."

After saying that, she walked out of my office, leaving me stunned, nobody have ever insulted my babies before.

I'll get you some day Marissa.
