Chapter 96: Rinnegan

"Weak... It doesn't even count as a warm-up..." Madara muttered in disappointment, "Hmph, how is that?" He turned around and asked me with a smile.

I could barely contain my excitement: "Wow, you're so strong!"

Madara nodded happily at the praise, and Hagoromo told us to settle down: "Now the pest was dealt with; let me properly explain the Rinnengan."

"Firstly, you're aware that Sharingan can evolve, right?."

"Of course, from one tomoe to three tomoe, then to Mangekyou Sharingan," I answered.

Hagoromo nodded: "Correct, Rinnegan is the final evolution after Mangekyou Sharingan. Only the one with true potential can reach this stage, and the person with Rinnegan was the chosen one that will bring greatness."

Watching my dazed expression, Hagoromo chuckled, "Anyway, by earning Rinnegan, your Mangekyou Sharingan's capabilities will grow to the max, and your body will also slightly strengthen to handle the eye's power. Mainly, however, you will unlock two types of abilities," Hagoromo explained.

"The first one was what I call the six paths. As the name suggests, there are six different abilities you could choose from." Hagoromo cleared his throat and began to clarify what those paths were.

[A/N: I have asked in the past about the Rinnegan, and people said that it's too many abilities to count as a single quirk. That's why I wanted to only allow one path, so it became more of an evolutionary stage of the Sharingan but also included the main features of Rinnegan. The paths will also be altered to assimilate better into the MHA world]

In short:

Path of Divine, Deva: Grant users the ability to manipulate attractive and repulsive forces with objects and people.

Path of the Angels, Asura: grants users the ability to augment their own bodies, giving them powerful physical capabilities and turning them into superhumans.

Path of the Human, Manusya: the power of the mind, ability to perceive what the targets were thinking, predict their every move, and ability to manipulate their minds that could cause devastating mental damage.

Path of the Beasts, Tiryag: The ability to fully bond with an animal. The path allows users to gain the power of that animal, gaining their traits, characteristics, and features.

Path of the Spirits, Preta: grants users the ability to absorb attacks in any form to protect themselves.

Path of the Demons, Naraka: The path that could restore any item or people to their previous state. Fixing any impurity, damage, and injury that was dealt with.

As Hagoromo explained each path, my mind was in overdrive, profoundly thinking about all the options: "Will I be able to choose the path I want to pursue?" I asked to make sure.

Hagoromo nodded: "All the abilities are strong, depending on what you do with them."

"Which paths did you two choose?"

Madara and Hagoromo smiled. Madara said that he picked the Asura Path as all he wanted was strength, while Hagoromo picked Preta Path as he thinks that defense's the best offense.

"I see..." I muttered, "What's the second power?"

"Rinnegan can also create objects made of dark, unknown material. The objects could take simple forms, and as the Rinnegan grows stronger, the things you could make also became more intricate and complex."

Hagaromo said and summoned the same black staff that he used to fight the snake.

I touched the staff and could tell that the material was solid and durable, 'Interesting, these were basically chakra rods but without the chakra part....'

"But what's most useful about this was that we could transmit our path's power into these tools," Hagoromo explained with pride.

'So basically like a chakra rod, huh... I should test if I can inject it with chakra like in the anime... I made a mental note to experiment with it once everything calmed down.

But before that, I needed to determine which path I should choose. I thought about it for a while minutes before finally deciding.

"Okay, I have decided," I said with determination.

Hagoromo smiled and walked toward me. He placed his hand on my head, and a faint bright light formed on his palm. I suddenly felt a strangely uncomfortable sensation, like worms squirming under my skin.

The white light soon disappeared, and I felt remarkably refreshed. I looked at my hands and clenched my fist. It felt like I could take on the whole world! I raised my head and saw Madara and Hagoromo laughing at my reaction.

I pouted as the pleasurable feeling soon vanished. My Sharingan started to change as it turned purple, and the pupil now has a ripple-like pattern.

The Rinnegan!

"It looks good on you." Madara joked.

Hagoromo nodded: "Now, use your power to bring Japan peace one more!

My body started to turn into small particles of light as I was slowly pulled out of my subconsciousness: " Will I be able to meet you guys again!?"

"Once you get strong enough, you may return to your subconsciousness. We will meet then, but for now, we will protect you from mental attacks."

"Thanks!" I said with sincerity and wrapped my arms around them both.

Madara and Hagoromo chuckled while patting my head as I left my subconsciousness.

[3rd POV]

Tomura frowned as he felt the link of One for All with Kaede shattered. He was perplexed about this, as All For One shouldn't fail. He stared at Kaede's body, which was still being lifted by the neck.

Instantly, Kaede grabbed Tormua's wrist with her hand as the villain felt a massive amount of strength leaving him.

Kaede's wounds immediately healed as her eyes snapped open. Kaede's Mangekyo Sharingan spun rapidly as she regained all her lost energy.

Suddenly, Tomura felt massive pressure oozing out of her, and his instinct was to yell at him to run away. Her eyes soon transformed from red to purple.

The entire tide of the battle turned when Kaede muttered two words: "Shinra Tensei (Almighty Push)....."
