Chapter 75: Just as planned?
After the events at the school festival, Kaede and Shoto have become closer than before. It was as if the wall between them gradually diminishing. The fear and anxiety were gone, and the two will regularly spend their free time with each other.
The rest of the students in school soon noticed their relationship, and it became the new recent hot topic at lunch. Many first-year boys were jealous of Shoto but couldn't do anything but grudgingly accept defeat.
To everyone's surprise, UA finally lightened up the strictness and allowed students to leave the premise with the teacher's permission. That's why Shoto was currently preparing for the first challenge that all boys in a relationship have to face, the first date.
However, Shoto didn't know what to do, so he decided to call for help.
"Oh hey Shoto, what's up?" Natsuo, Shoto's older brother, sounded through the phone.
"I need help," Shoto answered with a severe tone.
Shoto then explained his dilemma; usually, Natsuo likes to tease his little brother, but hearing the situation, he got serious as well.
"Hold on, let me go and get Toya," Natsuo replied.
Shoto waited until he heard the voice of his two brothers. Natuso told Toya the problem, and the two Todoroki told Shoto what to do. Shoto fervently wrote what they said on a piece of paper.
Thirty minutes later, Shoto thanked his two brothers and hung up the phone. He stared at the paper filled with notes and nodded in satisfaction. He thought that things would go perfectly, or will they?
Tomorrow...
Kaede and Shoto were touring around the mall. She had happily accepted the invitation, and they left UA this morning. However, Aizawa instructed they had to return by two o clock in the afternoon. Therefore, Kaede and Shoto only had a limited time, but it was just enough.
"So, what should we do?" Kaede asked with curiosity.
"Let's go watch a movie," Shoto suggested.
"Sure! I recently heard about a viral movie just released; let's watch it!" Kaede said with excitement.
Shoto chuckled while watching Kaede's cute behaviour, and they made their way to the movie theatre in the mall. As they walked side by side, Shoto glanced at Kaede's hand and his own as he rememebred the first step.
"Remember to hold her hand as you walk. It would help you connect with each other more and you walk in the same pace!" - Natsuo
Shoto gulped and gently reached out. Their hands touched and Kaede noticeably flinched. Shoto was nervous and held her hand and their fingers interlocking with eachother. Kaede blushed deeply and averted her gaze.
Shoto's face was also red with embarassment and they walked in unison. Despire this embarassing feeling, it felt good...
They eventually arrived at the theatre and luckily there doesn't seemed to be that many people. Shoto took upon the role to purchase the tickets while Kaede left to buy snacks. When they met up again, together they entered the cinema.
Shoto and Kaede located their seats as they sat down. It wasn't long before the movie starts to play, diverting their attention from each other. The film seemed to be about a boy that aspiring to become a hero and fight evil to rescue his family. It was a common genre in this world but notheless they throughly enjoyed it.
Shoto glanced to his side and noticed Kaede was intently focusing on the movie. The light reflected of her face and Kaede's eyes sparkled with enthusiasm. Before he realise it, Shoto begun to stare at Kaede instead of the film.
It wasn't long before it ended and Kaeded left with a happy expression. To Shoto's suprise, she eagerly grabbed his hand like it was natural and led him out of the theatre.
Knowing their time was running out, Kaede and Shoto decided to leave the arcade and have lunch before returning to the dorm, and Shoto knew the perfect place. It was a new restaurant recently opened, and Natsuo recommended he to take Kaede there.
Thankfully there were still seats left, and a young waitress guided them to a spot on the corner. The waitress came back with the menu, and Kaede and Shoto quickly scanned through it before ordering.
"So, what would the cute couple like to order?" The waitress joked while taking out her notepad and pen.
Kaede and Shoto blushed being called a couple. In the end, Kaede ordered a curry while Shoto ordered cold soba. The waitress wrote down their order and left, well, not before teasing them a little bit more and giving them her blessing on their relationship.
Steam was coming out of Shoto and Kaede's heads as they averted each other's gaze while their face was red like a tomato. The other people in the restaurant looked at the two with a smile and the adults couldn't help but reminisce about their younger days.
Soon, their meals arrived, and they thanked the waitress, who smirked and left these two alone. Shoto coughed into his hand from the awkwardness: "Are you having fun?"
Kaede stopped, blushed, and gave Shoto a broad grin: "Of course! But you don't have to go through this much effort."
"Why?" Shoto asked, bewildered.
"Because it's already fun to spend time with you," Kaede replied.
Shoto blushed and stared at the table, embarassed to meet her gaze. Kaede thought that Shoto was looking at her food and she asked: "Do you want to try?"
Shoto's mind froze and he instinctively nodded. Before he could realising what was happening, Kaede slowly scoop up a little bit of her curry and brought it close to Shoto's face. He stared at her in shock as Kaede's blushed.
"W..What are you waiting for... My arm's going to hurt..." Kaede muttered.
Shoto felt guilty and opened his mouth. Kaede pushed her spoon through his lips and Shoyo's eyes shot wide open. For a moment he forgot how to breathe as he dazely chewed.
"How is it?" Kaede nervously asked.
Shoto stared at Kaede before smiling: "It's not as delicious as yours..."
Hearing this Kaede blushed and fidgted with her hair: "Thanks... You don't know how much that meant to me..."
Shoto's heart started beating wildly, and he realised how lucky he was to have someone like Kaede. Everything was going perfectly until they heard a loud audible gasp. Kaede and Shoto turned their heads and saw Itachi and a woman with emerald-coloured hair staring at them.
Earlier...
While Kaede and Shoto were in the arcade, Itachi and Tomoko arrived at the mall: "Hello, Itachi-san!" Tomoko excitedly called out to Itachi.
Tomoko asked if Itachi wanted to go to the mall with her, and since Itachi was free now, he agreed. They wandered around the plaza, and Tomoko looked around with wonder and awe.
This wasn't the first time they had been together; after what happened in the hospital, Tomoko constantly invited Itachi to many outings. Itachi was a bit reluctant initially, but Tomoko was stubborn, and he eventually gave in.
Now, Itachi found himself enjoying these interactions with her more and more. Before he realised it, Itachi smiled every time he was with her. When Tomoko finished exploring the entirety of the mall, she brought him to a restaurant, and as they entered, Itachi was shocked. He saw his little sister sitting with Shoto, and to his horror, Kaede reached out with her spoon. S
HE FED HIM WITH HER OWN SPOON!!!!
Itachi's lips quivered and he gasped.
Present...
"Onii-chan? What are you doing here?" Kaede asked her brother.
However, Itachi didn't respond as everything became black, and he fainted.
Sometime later...
Itachi groggily woke up, and the first thing he saw was Tomoko's golden eyes looking down at him. he found himself resting on Tomoko's lap, and he immediately got up in embarrassment and sat next to her.
"Wh..what happened? Where's Kaede?" Itachi asked.
"Your little sister and that boy have to return to UA. But first, what happened, Itachi-san? Are you sick or anything?" Tomoko demanded worriedly as she placed her hand on his forehead to see if Itachi's temperature was high.
"I'm not sick... I just saw something that I wish I never saw," Itachi muttered as he clenched his fist and gritted his teeth.
Seeing this, Tomoko giggled: "You sure are a caring brother Itachi-san, but it's not that big of a deal."
"Not that big of a deal? That boy Todoroki will steal Kaede from me!" Itachi yelled, and his eyes widened when he realised how embarrassing that must have sounded.
"Well, everyone will have to fall in love at least once, right? It's not something you can control." Tomoko reasoned.
Itachi sighed, knowing that Tomoko was right: "My mother and Shisui told me to ignore it, but I can't do that..."
"Hmmm," Tomoko put one of her fingers by her lip and pondered: "Why don't you talk to the boy? You will certainly feel better knowing that the boy's not a bad person."
"Maybe...." Itachi muttered as gears started turning in his head and a dangerous glint appeared in his eyes before quickly vanishing.
"Besides, Kaede will still be your sister, and it's not like you won't ever see her again." Tomoko, who didn't sense anything wrong, continued speaking.
Itachi smiled wryly as he stood up: "Thanks for the advice."
"No problem!" Tomoko replied with a grin.
"Here, I will take you home," Itachi said.
Before Tomoko could respond, Itachi picked her up in a princess carry, a faint blush appeared on her face, but she hid it away from Itachi as he leapt into the air and jumped from roof to roof.
