My Seed & Loss

Isaac was in a conflicted mood.

On one side he was happy for the memory and echo he had gained.

On the other hand, he was a bit fearful.

He had never wanted to kill the tree himself.

Why?

Simple really.

In the novel, the tree is attacked by the sea monsters.

So now that the tree was dead the only living things in the area were them.

'Shit'.

Isaac however was not going to stress over it.

What could he do?

They weren't even near the Bright Castle.

So in a situation where they were attached, they had no chance of success.

So Isaac who was in his soul sea looked at his new memory.

Name: Soul Devours Seedling.

Memory Rank: Awakened.

Memory Tier: II.

Memory Type: —.

Memory Description: [A seed of a Soul Devourer]

Memory Enchantments: [Plant], [Evolve].

"At least it's not complex, but for an Awakened Terror it's lacking".

Not only was it lacking it was garbage.

A Terror has six soul cores why does it only have two enchantments?

"Well, it was only a seed so it would make sense".

Isaac sighted.

There was a glaring issue.

"Where the hell do I plant a Nightmare Creature".

Should he even plant it?

Would it even be considered a Nightmare Creature?

A normal person would say "yes" to them how is it a question?

But Isaac was not someone from this world he knew much more.

With this knowledge, he knew what Nightmare Creatures truly were.

Nightmare Creatures are Noble Creatures or even rare humans that have been corrupted from the void.

But then even with this knowledge, someone might say if the parent was corrupted shouldn't the child be too?

Under normal circumstances that's correct.

But Isaac had read the Tomb of Ariel though he did not know the ending as his knowledge ended while they saved Kai and Mordret.

He still learned something from the Prince of Nothing.

Those that become corrupted are banished by the Spell.

As such the chance the seed would be born a defiled creature is zero.

Sighing he tried to take a better look at the seed.

Maybe it had a special ability he did not know about.

Of course, this was false hope.

The memory was laid bare before his eyes.

'Sad'.

As he was playing with the seed within his soul sea it dropped from between his fingers and landed in the "water" of the soul sea.

But contrary to Isaac's expectations it dropped into the "sea".

Isaac was flabbergasted.

"What-".

Before he could continue he heard the Spell whisper.

[Your memory had been destroyed]

Destroyed...

'The hell you mean destroyed'.

Isaac was extremely confused.

How could a memory be destroyed in his soul when he only dropped it?

Yet unexpectedly that wasn't the least of his concerns.

Another fragment of light that was orbiting his soul core also dropped into the "water" of the soul sea.

[Your echo had been destroyed]

'What do you mean I just go-'.

All of the sudden his soul sea began to tremble.

A viscous pain tore through his soul.

The pain was so torturous he was flung from his soul sea and into the real world where he let out a painful scream.

The pain was terrifying.

It felt as if something was borrowing within his soul.

Letting out a painful screech Isaac clutched his chest.

Sunny and Nephis were momentarily stunned.

Quickly gathering there barring's they both moved beside Isaac holding his seizing body down.

Cassia was terrified.

She could not see yet Isaac's shrill scream made her heart drop.

Tears had begun to fall from her eyes as a shadow of despair covered her mind.

She already knew through her vision that Isaac for some reason would not make it to the human castle with them.

Yet Nephis and Sunny both made plans to keep him as protected as possible.

Nephis had even promised never to turn her back on him in case something unexpected happened.

Yet here they were Isaac in pain and even with her vision she could not tell the reason.

After a while Isaac's screams stopped and silence reined supreme.

"I-Is he".

Cassia whispered.

She wanted to know Isaac's current condition yet she feared the answer.

Yet it seemed Isaac's condition was complicated.

"I tried to heal him yet the pain doesn't seem to stem from his physical body".

Nephis explained her once stone expiration cracking slightly.

Sunny was also baffled.

Why would Isaac be in pain his physical condition was optimal and he even was healed by Nephis.

Sunny tried to this of different scenarios, but none of them made any sense.

Sunny still baffled felt a pull on his mind.

Sensing his shadow trying to tell him something he looked back at it.

His shadow was clutching its chest.

'Why are you-'.

Then like lightning the realization struck him.

"His soul...".

Sunny stammered.

Nephis looked at him.

In her contemplation she could not hear Sunny to well.

"His what?".

Sunny looked at her.

He stayed quiet for a couple of seconds shock still distorting his thoughts.

Only after feeling the pain of his flaw did he answer.

"The damage might be to his soul not body".

Nephis frowned.

There was nothing indicating that Isaac took soul damage yet it sounded like the only possible option.

His body was fine.

She even healed him.

Yet he was still in pain.

"Wha-".

Before Cassia could speak a set of gray eyes opened up.

Isaac looked around seeing his teammates surround him.

Only Electra sat in the far side of the boat.

Sunny, Nephis and Cassia were ecstatic.

Yet looking at the dark starless sky Isaac spoke one word filled with fear, confusion and a sense of loss.

"I-I was banished".
