chapter. 10

The next day after yesterday's incident, Shadi is now gathered with the group led by Mr. O.

Shadi is now leaning against a tree while daydreaming. O, who sees Shadi being absent-minded, chuckles and approaches him.

"Is there something happen to you?, Shadi?" Mr. O asked with a mocking look.

Shadi can only be silent while turning his face away.

This is because Shadi had just been reprimanded by Ghun and was not allowed to go with Amaira again for some time.

Mr. O can only smile at Shadi's behavior, besides, he is also guilty of letting the three thieves chase Shadi just for entertainment.

Of course, O will not tell Shadi about this because if he knew, Shadi might chop his neck off. Suddenly a woman's voice called him.

"Senior, caravans has arrived," said one of O's members with a bunny mask and white hair on his forehead, carrying something wrapped in a bandage on his back.

"Oh, they're here ... well, come on, everyone, let's meet them," O invited all his members.

O's members immediately approached a convoy of five slave trader carriages owned by Loyd Vinity.

There, Loyd was leaning on his horse-drawn carriage when he saw O's group, Loyd quickly got up and approached Mr. O.

Loyd appeared as a young man in his 30s, with long brown hair tied up, black pupils, a round and somewhat chubby face, wide eyes, thick eyebrows, and small lips. He has a sturdy body that is not fat and he is also somewhat shorter when he stands in front of Mr. O.

They both shook hands before starting a conversation.

"Nice to meet you, sir. Let me introduce myself: I am Lloyd Vinity. If I may ask, what is your name, sir?" Lloyd asked with a friendly smile.

"Call me O, and behind me are my men. We will escort you to your destination," O replied.

"Ohoho ... in that case, I ask for your cooperation, Mr. O. Let's ride my carriage, but not this one, this carriage contains women who will work, hehehe ..." Lloyd pointed to the horse-drawn carriage on his side with the back covered in cloth so that the inside cannot be seen, but the sound of women's conversations can be heard from within.

Loyd escorted O's group to a carriage that would be their ride.

Shadi and O, along with their men, then boarded the enchanted carriage, and after a long time, the convoy of horse-drawn carriages began to move along the road.

Inside the carriage that Shadi's group rode, there was a conversation going on.

"The journey to Silverdane takes four days and three nights, but that doesn't mean we won't face any obstacles that will make our journey smooth, so we will divide the task of monitoring," Mr. O explained and then looked at Shadi.

"Shadi, you will keep watch at night with Bullet," Mr. O told Shadi and a bunny-masked person.

"Fine," they both replied.

"The rest, Quadmaire, Stone, and I, will replace you two," Mr. O continued.

Silence fell among all the members, but suddenly someone among them who was wearing a mouth and nose covering but left their red-eyed pupils visible broke the atmosphere.

"Leader, I sense movement from the outside, and the number is unknown, they are moving at high speed towards us."

Hearing that, all the members became alert and O ordered Bullet.

"Bullet, stone guard the third wagon, Shadi guards the front wagon, and Quadmaire, Stingray, guard the fourth wagon, the rest with me guarding this wagon."

"All right," they all replied in unison.

Shadi immediately entered his shadow dimension and appeared among Lloyd and the carriage driver. Shadi's arrival surprised the two of them.

"Sorry to startle you, but we are under attack. Please speed up our journey," Shadi said.

Lloyd, without hesitation, listened to Shadi's words and ordered all his horse-drawn carriages to move faster through the magical communication tool.

All the horse-drawn carriages moved quickly, and the sound of women's screams from inside the carriages could be heard. Shadi immediately stood on top of the carriage covered with cloth.

The upper part of the cloth cover was slightly open, showing a group of women inside, which were blocked by iron bars. The eyes of the women and Shadi met, making Shadi remember the time when he was also locked up behind those iron bars.

But Shadi immediately snapped out of it when he heard the sound of gunfire from behind the convoy, which came from Bullet, who was holding a sniper rifle and shooting towards the forest.

Shadi glanced at the forest and saw a strange creature hanging on a tree. The creature had a strange form, with a body resembling a monkey with strong and long arms gripping a tree trunk and swinging agilely, while its face looked like a wolf.

"Wolkey," Shadi said when he saw the creature.

Shadi immediately took a shuriken from his shadow and held it in both hands. He put a little bit of his shadow magic into the shuriken.

The pack of wolkeys swinging on the tree quickly jumped towards the carriage that Shadi rode. At the same time, Shadi threw his shuriken which flew like a missile and struck the creature's body, causing them to fall to the ground.

Shadi kept throwing his weapons towards the creatures that were swinging around. On the other side, Bullet shot the wolkeys accurately with his sniperrifle, killing the creature with a single shot, while Stone guarded Bullet on the third carriage.

Stone killed the wolkey that managed to touch the carriage with a mini crossbow in his hand. Despite being small, Stone enhanced the crossbow with magic, making its power almost equal to that of a firearm bullet.

In the other carriage, Quadmaire and Stingray were fighting wolkeys trying to approach the carriage by jumping from tree to tree. But before they managed to approach the carriage, they were killed by Stingray's long spear, while Quadmaire shot the wolkey with ice crystals formed by his hand.

The Assasins could be on each horse-drawn carriage by jumping onto the wagon or teleportation. The pack of wolkeys continued to increase from all directions, annoying Shadi and the others.

"Their numbers won't stop," Shadi cursed after seeing the pack of wolkeys increasing.

The battle lasted a long time, with the assasins trying to keep the convoy safe until the pack of wolkeys chasing them became fewer, and they managed to escape from the monster's chase.

"Phew.... Finally, we're safe," Quadmaire said looking at the lack of any wolkey chasing them.

"Those wolkeys are no longer chasing us, tell all the drivers that Mr. Loyd to slow down the horse-drawn carriage," O ordered.

Quadmaire immediately signaled to Shadi in front to slow down the horse-drawn carriage.

And now the horse-drawn carriage convoy was moving at a relaxed pace.

However, despite this, the assasins still stayed on top of the wagons on guard to ensure that there were no other threats.

"Thank goodness you managed to prevent the pack of wolkeys from stealing my carriage, hahaha ... this is my luck. Thank you very much," Lloyd said.

"This is our duty to ensure your journey and your belongings are safe," Shadi replied, sitting in front of Lloyd and the driver.

"But still, your performance is very impressive. The security I hired before always made me lose a slave trader carriage every time I passed through the wolkey pack's area," Lloyd continued.

Lloyd kept talking until he told the story of his childhood, and Shadi could only agree with Lloyd's words which were like a broken radio.

But what made Shadi more uncomfortable was the sound of crying and anxiety from within the wagon behind him. Of course, they would be worried because there was no guarantee that they would survive this journey.

Shadi sighed softly and hoped they could survive until their destination.

To be continued...
