Obsessions

It was already well past 8 PM by now, and Quinn had just destroyed one of the military school's training dummys at its highest difficulty. However, before he was able to get out of the training grounds, he was met with a person who might have been observing from the shadows as they revealed themselves whilst clapping and slowly approaching Quinn.

Quinn, recognising the attire of the military official; it was of of the 2 Lieutenant Generals of this particular military school. Quinn quickly stiffened and saluted the military official and asked: "What brings you here, Lieutenant General Madam?"

The Lieutenant General finally came into sight as the soft light fell on her figure, revealing the beautiful figure of the Lieutenant General known as Madam Yang among the students. She was still in her military attire which allowed Quinn to recognise her as a Lieutenant General, and her otherwise flowing silvery hair was tied neatly so as to not get in the way of any actions.

"Shall I not wander the vicinity to assess the students as I wish?" the Lieutenant General continued to walk towards Quinn, "And you are quite the gem, aren't you, boy?" she said, licking her lips.

'Why can't I catch a break...'

"Oh, what a coincidence," she raised her hand to her mouth, "I've actually been looking forward to talking to you for a while now. Quinn Maw, right? Don't be afraid, handsome, I'm not going to eat you or anything," she licked her lips once again.

'I really doubt that'

"I have heard of your feats as of lately. Almost singlehandedly defeating a Rock Worm to save your friend; quite the charming trait. Not only that, but bravely putting up quite the fight against Viktor, one of the Elemental leaders and protecting your fellow students. I have nothing but praises to offer. However, I do wonder... how did you manage to get your hands on such a high level Ability Dew?" Madam Yang continued as she put her finger on Quinn's lips, "But, of course, you do not need to comply. You do not answer to me after all~"

'I've had enough of this shit,' Quinn grabbed Madam Yang's wrist, and using the least amount of power, bent it away from his face. "Is this how the military operates nowadays? How dare you touch me? I don't mind the useless flattery, but keep your hands off of me, woman. Don't worry about my ability either, I plan on reporting it to the military myself; you don't need to involve yourself. Don't think you have the highest position in the military."

Confronting the weird woman, Quinn was quite annoyed because of the course of things, and bluffed, using his family's high standing in the world prior to their deaths.

Without wasting a single second, and not letting the Lieutenant General even utter a word, Quinn vanished from where he stood just a second ago, and cloaked himself using his Authority over Shadows.

Ever since Quinn had finally awakened as a Shadow, his Abilities had transformed into Authorities instead. Therefore, he now had absolute control over the concepts of the Shadow and Darkness, without the need to even use the System or the Skills that he learned, and he could create his own Skills. Of course, there are a few exceptions to this; he could not create Skills as powerful as the Mist Of Nowhere and Eternal Darkness. However, he could create simple Skills now; such as the one that he just used: Shadow Mist.

Although Quinn had seemingly disappeared from the training ground, he was still very much there, a short distance away from the Lieutenant to see her reaction to all of this. He was certain that people on her level or even above would not be able to detect his presence. He had his existence as a Shadow to thank for this.

A few seconds passed as the woman remained unmoving, with her hand still in the air, when she finally had a reaction. Just... not one that Quinn was expecting. Whether it was for good or bad, he really couldn't tell.

The woman couldn't help but moisten her lips once again before placing her finger on her own lips again and slightly nibbling on it with a smile on her seemingly naughty countenance. Needless to say, Quinn was quite shook, witnessing such degenerate behavior; from a Lieutenant General, nonetheless.

"Quinn..." she breathed heavily, "I'll make you mine~Just you wait for your big sister..."

'Sister? I ain't got no crazy ass sister!' Quinn couldn't hide his disbelief in the current situation as his jaw almost dropped to the floor, although camouflaged, 'This woman is crazy, I'm outta here!'

Lieutenant General Yang was quite famous among the students, especially the males, and for quite apparent reasons; additionally, she was in a high position in the military at quite the young age, being only 20 years old. Although she would not act like such in front of others, but it seems like hers was a sort of obsession with Quinn: for reasons unknown to himself.

Not even noticing, while being busy with a ton of stuff to do in not only the military school, but also his personal life, more than a week had already passed.

During this time period, Quinn had accomplished quite a few things. He had reported to the military about his ability, and on top of that, he had been going through the process of becoming a Dungeon Crawller. There was only a final test remaining for him to get his license. And although he would have a licence to access Dungeons, he could only access the ones in the city, while he was still in school. Therefore, he needed to wait till the Summer Vacation started to actually be able to go to high ranking Dungeons.

He had already completed the Weekly Quest, and the first set of exams for the First Years were about to end by the end of this month, April. Quinn did not really need to study much for the exams, so he just thought it a waste of time; and he would rather do something else. After all, during the many years that Quinn had no Ability, he would spend most of his time honing his other skills such as: studies, martial arts, and what not. He was quite the cook as well, according to Luna.

When Quinn had reported his Ability to the military, there was no reaction. Something that he did not expect, but welcomed nonetheless. After all, he did not want any more trouble with the military than he already has.

Days passed quickly, and those days turned into weeks. Finally, after two more weeks had passed, all of the First year students were done with their exams and were finally allowed to breathe as the Summer Vacation drew near.

When the exams were still ongoing, Quinn seemed to have gained yet another strange follower: his name was Ryu. Quinn had seen him a few times already: with Sen, and while he was sparring with Aaron.

Speaking of Aaron, his and Quinn's relationship was a bit weird now, after what happened last time, but Quinn still respected him and followed his teaching; although there was no need to do so because Quinn was already beyond the other Humans.

Back to Cho-onsoku Ryu: he was already quite interested in Quinn after what had happened on Butani, with the incident involving Viktor of Earth, but for some reason, he now considered Quinn his rival. Not in combat, but in studies. Ryu was an honour student and honestly speaking, an incredibly bright idol of a student, who was at the top of the class at everything he did: especially academics.

He was only ever used to being at the top and holding onto that #1 rank. But ever since entering the military, he was just shy of a hair's width of that... all because of one person: Quinn. Thus, his seemingly safe obsession with how Quinn does things: he would follow him around and try to make out how he could score such marks.

Quinn did not really mind this, except for the many times when Ryu would ask when he would start studying. 'Surely, this guy has something better to do? He can't be serious.'

Quinn took Sen's advice to heart and tried spending more time with Petra. Although, whenever Luna would approach him with all the courage she mustered up, it felt like she was shunned. However, even Quinn noticed this and felt horrible, therefore, he tried juggling the two of them while Sen would tag along once in a while.

It was weird for him to say this, but it felt like Luna was starting to act more human and in correspondence with her own feelings too, which made Quinn happy.

It had now been two days since the exams ended. It had been almost 4 weeks since Quinn learned of Nyxterra, the Planet of the Vampires. However, not long after its discovery, Quinn already had found a way to get to the Planet. But, it was not yet time...

Finally, after a few more days, Summer Vacation was about to start and the Students were free to do as they wished and were allowed off of the military school base for a month.

But, before he would get out of this place, Quinn still had to meet a few more people. Especially, Aaron, on Void's advice.
