Dorm C

Ms. Jané was apparently my dorm advisor or R.A. as she wanted me to call her. (Resident Adviser)

She was a very tall lady and super sweet. She helped me find my way through the dorm and had me eat dinner with all the residents before showing me my new dorm room.

"Alright this one here is your new dorm room! room C-9.You have a dorm leader her name is sunshyn! she's not in today since its friday and she's gone home for the weekend. we also have your other roommate lizzy she's out still doing dorm chores but she'll be in shortly to show you how the room dynamics work. Well that's it for roommates you have two beds to choose from either bed one or bed four. bed one is the one right here at the entrance of the door. bed four is the one by the window over there after the cement boarder. get settled up and get ready for bed."

She gave me a bag of goodies and left me to myself to inspect the room.

'oh wow this room is pretty roomy even for a 4 bed...wish it wasn't so many to a room though...'

the room was set up in a pretty simple way. Two beds to each side of the center cement divider. all twins with drawers underneath. one dresser in between the beds and a locker closet for each bed. there was a small hallway across from the cement divider which led to a sink with table space. the room was mostly light blues and greys. There was a shower room on the right and a toilet room on the left. It was pretty simple. I wanted bed one but thought it'd be better to be by the window it was a better hideaway for me.

"This bed is pretty comfy, I wonder if my roommates are nice....(sigh) hopefully. I like this place so far."

I looked around the room and noticed a small board over each bed so many pictures and drawings were on my bed mates board. "oh wow she likes to draw too!? they are soooo pretty! looks like she sure likes shoe designs and skateboards...mmm pinup too? wow. i can't wait to meet her.."

i looked at the board for so long i didn't hear the door open.

(click) "hey. you must be the new roommate Mrs. jané was talking about. alzi right?"

I jumped up from my bed and turned to find a girl slightly taller than me with super long brown hair, medium built with a footie honey bear pj and hat. she was holding a laptop in her arms.

"Did i scare you? sorry...i don't like to talk much.. um here its a paper i wrote for the room rules..I'm liz by the way..."

I grabbed the paper and gave it a quick once over.

[Rule one: you will have ONE and only one permanent set chore to do in the room.

Rule two: Bed time is at 10pm.

Rule Three: leave nothing out before leaving the room each day. (only decorative items)]

"these are the only rules? That's simple thank you."

I quickly put away my belongings and squeezed into my tucked blanket.

5am...(buzz buzz buzz)

'huh?' I awoke to see my roommate getting out of the shower to turn off her alarm.

'seriously 5am....you're awake before your alarm...'

I washed up and left the dorm to wonder. 'this place is pretty big but that dorm really looks like an office building in las vegas. plain on the outside nice on the inside. haha'

outside the main female dorm were three separate male dorms labeled by number versus lettering like the female dorm. in front of each dorm lay a brick gazebo made for barbecue celebrations and events passed the dorms on the right was a huge field of grass surrounded by the same wire fencing i had seen coming in. the security office was at the end of the long field. on the right of the females dorm was a gymnasium like in most schools i had growing up except with a weight room attached to it. passing the gym was another gazebo small and had no fire pits. just an overhead for shade and a few benches and tables. an art room just passed that an a pool....and classrooms??? 'wow this place is big but kinda cramped...i wish i hadn't woken up so early breakfast isn't even open yet at the cafeteria...well one hour til 7 so not too long..i wonder where everyone is...it seems empty out here.' I sat on a bench near the gazebo in front of the gym and fell asleep.

a scent of barbecue wafted into my nose with a lingering after scent of toothpaste...'someone is blowing into my face?!'

i jumped up and smacked my head onto something hard cause both of us to yelp in pain. "whats wrong with you! why are you blowing into my face!" i yelled holding onto my head tightly.

"sorry...i saw you sleeping and thought maybe you were someone else i knew so...sorry" he held his jaw almost tearing up when i looked up at him.

"ah...that's alright i guess everyone makes that mistake. after all with my hood all the way on my head you can't really see my face right haha"

i laughed nervously.. trying not to look at him directly.
