Squib march.

After few days of investigation, he obtained the date of march closest to his location.

Severus was hiding in a background in gathering place, waiting for squibs to come.

Surprisingly this march wasn't going to be big, luckily his target was part of this small group. Identical male twins were arguing with each other.

"Hello. Any problem here?" Appearing near them in his disguise, wizard sibling was startled and took him for another squib.

"Family business. Don't put your nose in Squib!" Making his brother to get angry and shout at him.

"Go! I won't come home with you. Why should prestigious wizard like you care about me? You stopped treating me like brother long ago." Instantly running away without giving time to any more words.

"See what you have done? You all are mistake! I will show you." Taking out his wand to vent his anger on Severus.

"Confun.." His incantation was interrupted by quick disarming charm.

"You are not.." Severus didn't need magic for such weaklings, he punch him into unconsciousness.

"Don't mess around…" Taking away his wand for later usage then drawing a sample of his DNA. Dragging him into a nearby alley.

'If none enjoys particular taste in men… His life is safe.'

Looking around for second of brothers, he found him sitting on a bench depressed.

"Your brother is a dick. I want to talk with you about important matter." Not going around the bush, he immediately went to the point.

"Don't talk about him… He might be senseless. It's my twin in the end of day. What do you want? If you are one of those dark fucks. Look at me I am just a squib."

"My name is Severus Snape. I am researching alchemy and squibs in magic families."

"Researching? I won't be anyone's guinea pig. Fuck off!"

"Mate. You misunderstood me! I won't experiment on you. I merely require some of your blood for testing. I believe your state is caused by blood disease. It might be a curse or jinx. If I can comprehend the reason. It might be possible to grant you magic. I mean returning you something that should belong to you! Are you interested?" Trying to use words to convince him to give his DNA sample voluntarily.

"Whatever. This blood isn't worth anything. I doubt even vampires would suck it." It seems man had many complexes from being disgrace.

"Thank you. Can you introduce yourself? I mean if I discover something. I will come to you." Making contact with one of them could be good opportunity for later.

"Terrance Yaxley. This was my brother Corban…" His brother was death eater under Voldemort during first war or he will be one.

"If I discover something… I will contact you." Stashing his blood sample into his jacket and leaving. There were other people to meet, some disowned or removed from family trees for their status.

"Marius Black. I saw what you did there." Severus was getting vigilant to use magic.

"No. I don't mean harm. This prick deserved some beating. I just don't know why wizard like you… being here." It seems he didn't observe him taking blood from the beaten wizard.

"I am an alchemist. I seek possible cures for being squib. I believe it's not something incurable. Many squibs give birth to magical children…"

"What do you need from us? All of us got tossed away or being treated pretty bad in our families."

"I need some blood samples. I believe its in your blood." His expression turned into little uncomfortable.

"How can I believe you won't use my blood to impersonate me or…"

"I can make an unbreakable vow for you." Those words assured him that he won't misuse his blood.

"Fine."

"Could you help me get more samples? More people be part of this project. Easier will be finding a reason. I might fail as well… I really want to help you all." His voice sounded sincere and Marius felt like someone really cared for their sake.

"I hope your project in fact help us." Their fate was very bad as they didn't belong either to wizarding the world or mundane world.

It would be extremely unfortunate if their march got stopped by anyone, he stayed to defend them for entire march.

'None attacked… Weird.' People dispersed after successful march without interruptions, Severus returned to his house.

"What the hell?" Samples of brothers had minimal difference, and it allowed him to spot thing responsible for his state.

Their genetic code was almost the same, only one spot was bizarrely different in case of a wizard.

'Wizard gene! Gene W? Gene M? M-gene? W-gene?' Going through all samples gave him a final verdict and only thing left was actually way of modification.

'I watched some Kurzgesagt movies… CRISPR. I can recall those movies perfectly… Thanks Occlumency.' This information was good enough for start, and he needed to research on bacteria with this mechanism.

Using maximum effort to find right bacteria took him another few months, bringing him to second part of 1969.

'If I want to make Petunia witch… I need to finish the project before summer in 1970. There is also meeting with Bellatrix. I don't want her to be Voldemort bitch.' It was time to meet Lily for first time, not appearing would make her extremely ostracized by her sister for year.

'I am taller and stronger than people of my age…' His body was only nine, people would mistake him for a teenager.

'Let's pay a visit to them.' Wearing his official outfit, he approached house of Evans family.

"Good morning. Imperio." Not having much to talk about with her, none in right mind wouldn't let their daughters to go with buffed teenager.

"I came to actually meet your daughter Lily. Can you call her?" This question was play to not make weird puppet scene, she immediately called her daughter.

'I am here little late, though… Looking at her depressed expression… Petunia already started her envious insults.'

"Who are you?" It seems she didn't have any friends outside house, losing her only close person because of jealousy was pretty hard hit.

"Lumos. You and I share a gift. We are both wizards." She got shocked by this revelation, her sister called her freak for few days already.

"Petunia. Stop hiding like a pervert. Come with us." Her stealth skills were trash, and she almost fell out of stairs.

"Why should I come with two freaks?! Just wait! I will tell everything to our father!" Envy completely filled her ability to think rationally.

"It won't change anything. I can give you same gift as your sister. Just stop acting like stupid brat and come with me." Her eyes almost shone when he told her about getting magic like her sister.

"I will come with you freak! Only to supervise you!" His mental age was too high to argue with little child.

"I didn't lie about giving you magic. I am working on this project for a year. It will be finished in couple weeks. It is really complex problem." His next step will be human trials, and he planned to capture some random thugs and use them for this job. Best part about this was duality, and magic gene could be awakened or removed in certain individual.

"We already met Petunia. My appearance changed a little." It shocked her a little, she couldn't remember such handsome teenager.

"You! You… are that pervert boy!" Connecting his name to new appearance almost made her jump to look if he was real.

"Bingo… Let's get to my point. I will grant you magic…however you are pretty evil person."

"I am good person! Take it back!"

"Good person? Huh? Look at your sister. How much did she cry because of your envy? I will give you magic, and you will hurt someone. It will be on me. Use time to think about your behavior little girl…" Seeing her almost cry, he stopped talking.

"Stop it. She is not bad… Petunia don't cry." Dealing with children was very hard, especially with little girls. Letting one cry would eventually spread to others, making reprimanding person a villain.

"I am sorry Lily…I didn't want to hurt you. I just wanted to be special too…" Petunia couldn't maintain her bratty attitude when her sister started comforting her even after all things she had done.

"Don't worry… I don't blame you anymore. Just stop calling me bad names." Lily couldn't be mad at her sister anymore.

"As I told you before… we are magic users. I am wizard, and they usually call female wizards witches. Lily already awakened her magic. Every magical person will need to go to magical school after they reach their eleventh birthday." Fortunately, he didn't need to explain all things to them.

"It means… I have some time to give you magic. Ensuring your admittance into wizarding school…" Giving brief explanation about some things in wizarding world, cutting off too drastic things for time being.

Leaving two girls after removing recent memories of their mother, not leaving any trace for time being.
