Chapter 18 Dai Yao Heng

Running out of The Canteen we ran through the road to auditorium with two other unrelated kids. We ran late because I overslept.

They probably did the same, just independent of each other because everyone is busy studying besides us, a well worded threat can solve so many tiny issues such as overprotective parents.

The path though is short and straight so we made it quickly to The Auditorium, following Xiao Wu I lay in wait for him to open the door.

Opening it slowly it makes a creaking sound but is quickly replaced by a booming voice of The Vice-Dean, he's an middle-aged portly man with a nice expression tinged with wrinkles.

It's really loud, and seeing how most people were unbothered by it I started listening while running along to move to a empty section of the seats, "As such we are our own heroes, we are here for The Empire..." His voice rises multiple octaves and he says, "We not simply here for The Empire; we are the heroes of The Empire!"

Finishing this everyone in the hall claps, I don't know what I missed but that speeches' end was kind of was disappointing. Especially since The Auditorium is so grand.

Three layers of desks and chairs on the floor ascending from the middle of The Auditorium, fanning out like a crane's wing. With many banners lining up along the pillars holding up the floor.

And a large area held in with a glass box for The Royal family. Held high above and representing their status has statues The Four Symbols.

Representing their sovereignty and The Dukes loyalty.

Anyways, I should listen on this class since it might contain tips on Spirit Beasts.

I may know the Spirit Ring Colors, how to track one, some more information about what Spirit Ring each Spirit Skill it could give. But my brothers don't know.

Moving into our seats near some people but we still have of our own space, we started listening while Xiao Wu looked at the speaker without really preparing himself.

Starting to watch the show as I know what I need to know, this is elementary, I don't need a review of wat I already know. Entertaining things put aside everything else flew out my other ear. Unless their important, than I'll keep it in reserve.

"Each Spirit Beast depending on their age would spawn a Spirit Ring if it's killed, depending on the type of Spirit Ring it could give different types of Spirit Skills. Anything you can think of, defense, offense, support."

"Each Spirit Ring's age is determined by the number of rings around it, but that's it's age in years exactly, while the color determines it's approximate age."

"White, 10 years, Yellow, 100 years, Purple, 1,000 years, Black, 10,000, Red which represents a hundred thousand year old spirit beast, they can at this point turn into a human and cultivate, each of these Spirit Beasts is guaranteed to spawn a Spirit Bone on death."

"All of these can give you a spirit skill, a Spirit Bone gives you up to two, Red Spirit Rings gives two, but legend says a million year old Spirit Beast will have a Spirit Ring with 4 Spirit Skills."

Gesturing wildly he takes short breather, "But what are these Spirit Skills, good question! Each of these Spirit Skills can be passive or active, passive Spirit Skills cost some Soul Force activating it and sustaining it."

"Each activation of a passive Spirit Skill is about twice the cost for sustaining it for a second the older a spirit beast is the better the passive gets. Of course you need to have the energy to sustain it after all, the older it gets the more expensive it will become." Chuckling goodheartedly he continues.

"While active Spirit Skills are different, each activation does something, yes it's very vague but..." Tuning out, I doubt anything else would entertaining, I can just put myself to sleep I inscribed on my soul so I really don't need to set up an additional program.

But really what I should have done is make two "masters" my actual master and my grandmaster. It would allow me to separate my shady dealings to my actual master and alliances to the grandmaster.

That way my grandmaster can take me in as my actual master after the shady dealings get revealed, all crimes will be revealed it just might take awhile for it to happen. The emotion impact would lessen the suspicion on everything I do.

My acting is usually up to par so it's a shame I didn't do this.

But enough speculation, it doesn't help as the past is the past. Setting up a additional program for a alarm to ring at six fifty, I turn on both and I'm out.

Time passes slowly in The Auditorium, with many children listening to The Star Luo Imperial Academy's Vice-Dean's many explanations and anecdotes.

Every child giving their all to listen to his explanation and doing their best to ignore everything besides that.

No one is sleeping but a blue haired youth that's sleeping in his chair. His dark blue eyes closing and opening creepily with his dark blue hair running long and streaming down to his shoulders.

Next to him is his brother, another blue haired youth with his eyes much larger then his brothers, arms folded against his chest to lay his head on. On his face there is a friendly expression with his eyes towards The The Vice Dean giving a speech.

His his head is down on a small section of wide expanse of desk fanned out like a bird's wings. His eyes staring towards the middle of The Auditorium where the Vice Dean is standing and giving a speech.

HIs hair not as long as his brother's is still long enough to run to his nape, his hair is unruly but is also spikey around his head forming something like a crown with his hair.

Besides him is a girl with straight and long black hair going down to her back, her eyes are white with her bangs curved so it dips to her nose. She's sitting in her chair lounging comfortably and looking boredly on The Vice Dean.

Her nose is sharp as and long but slender her mouth is curled up as frown seemingly unsatisfied with the speech.

Going back to The Dark Blue Haired Youth besides him is another boy three fourths of his height, his blonde hair is kept short and is slightly spikey all around.

His eyes is larger then The Dark Haired Youth but it's smaller than his twin brother's.

Sitting properly and staring at The Vice Dean searing every word he's saying into his mind. And like this nearly two hours pass.

Hmm, groggy, "Of course my anecdotes are in a separate book..." Ok I woke up on time, I can still her him yelling.

"Well that ends this discussion, now meet up with your seniors to check out tomorrow's terrain, and so tomorrow we hunt!" Bringing his hand balled up into a fist he brings it above his chest.

There is a large round of applause for a few minutes and everyone leaves to find the exit in The Auditorium.

"Yu Hao, " Since when did Little Tiger start calling me by my name instead of Big Brother, "We have to meet up with Big Brother to explore where we want to hunt a Spirit Beast."

Since when did he start calling that bastard "Big Brother" since when? Xiao Wu will still call me Big Brother though, I'm emotionally stable.

"Your not emotionally stable." Is she able to read my mind, "No my intuition is just better than average, plus your face gives all your thoughts away."

Touching my face I feel it's twisted into a sneer, relaxing it my expression turns blank.

"Plus your still their favorite older brother because your there instead of away at a school when their born and only visiting them once a year."

"Is that right?" I feel speechless that she knows my family better than my own family but she is so definitely my favorite follower, I'm writing this down as another favor I owe her.

"Yes but still besides my issues we need to go meet my, older brother." Her face pauses for bit before changing it to a expression of sympathy.

"Is that for me or my older brother?" She smirks back, "Both." I feel my face burning but Ignore it and run my brothers.

Running past Jiang Xue, I go to Little Tiger running with Xiao Wu on his back, and to my older brother, Dai Yao Heng.

"Oh, your here!" Yao Heng is always smiling very naturally, from experience people like that are always sly, they can be bad or good they'll always have a silver tongue.

I don't know which kind he is as he can either be extremely beneficial for a liability.

Smiling he puts his right hand on a small tiger he got perched on his left shoulder, rubbing it with his right hand he starts opening his mouth, "So is everyone here." Shaking his head Little Tiger spoke out, "Not everyone, Jiang Xue isn't here yet."

Xiao Wu rushed up enthusiastically at this, "Yeah Big Sister isn't here yet!" Nodding his understandingly we waited for a few minutes and she isn't here yet.

Yao Heng opened his mouth again, why? "So Jiang Xue, what's your relationship with her? Is she a friend, or a political ally your going to marry, or someone you love."

"Yao Heng please stop." Why is he continuing? "So what are your rivals, she's your fiancée, or is she something else? If she's Xiao Wu's big sis isn't she your fiancée then?"

Just stop my brothers are six, thank god Little Tiger stopped him, "Big Brother she's just a good friend Xiao Wu met coincidently in class."

"Ah!" He says that as if what Little Tiger says explains anything, but Little Tiger's cheeks and tips of his ears are blushing, awww.

"Yu Hao." Turning our heads to my back all my brothers and turns to face Jiang Xue, "Oh, Jiang Xue we were just talking about you. So what's your relationship between you and Yu Hao."

The glare is back into his eyes, like protecting a good and their value is great, looking onto a thief.

Does he think she's here to poach talent, I mean I am talented and she is here to poach me but it's based on the misunderstanding I am The Holy Ghost to her church about me rather than her group acknowledging my talent and wishing to recruit me.

"Well I'm Xiao Wu's older sister as Yu Hao really doesn't do a good job being his older brother and might lead him astray."

If she's implying I'll turn him gay that's wrong, I'm straight myself and as their role model I'd doubt they'd turn gay.

And he has the audacity to smile at this, "Can we just go now." Nodding his head he responds, "Alright."

I may be wrong on these and I don't really want to read through hundreds of chapters searching for his age, I think he's 21 around the time Yu Wu would be ten.

More exposition because this power system is complicated. And also 4 this week and 4 next week because my schedule is broken.
