Academy Days II: Roommate

Male Dorms, New Eden

Sohel enters the male dorms. There was a couch on the left side. In front were two lift doors and on the right side was a reception desk. The reception desk was empty. He walked to the lift and called the lift.

"Who's there?"

Sohel got startled. He slowly looked behind and saw a man in a white and blue corporal's uniform looking at him with suspicion. 

"Uhh….I'm Sohel Chowdhury, a recruit. I was told my dorm room was in this building."

The man goes behind the reception desk and looks at the PC kept there for a while. He then looks back at Sohel and says, "OK. I've checked. You're clear. Go to the 19th floor." As Sohel was turning around and getting in the lift the receptionist called him back, "Hey rookie, listen. Be wary of your roommate. He can be a real chore to deal with." Sohel was going to say something but the lift door had already shut down and started to go up. Sohel got out of the lift on the 19th floor. He found himself in a long corridor with a wide glass window on one side and a series of doors on the other. He found room number 1905 and knocked a few times but no one answered. He knocked again but to no avail. As he was thinking about what to do he saw a screen beside the handle of the door and what seemed like a fingerprint scanner under that. He put his right thumb in the scanner and it started scanning. After a second the screen showed the writing, "Welcome, Rookie Sohel Chowdhury." Sohel got confused again as to how they got Sohel's biometrics. He slowly opened the door and got inside. He saw a pair of shoes lying in front. He opened his shoes and went inside. He found himself in a small corridor. On the right side, there was a door which he opened and found out it was the washroom. He got back to the corridor and on the right side, he saw a kitchen. He went inside and found himself in a medium-sized room. The room was dark. He put down his bag and started searching for the light switch. After a few moments, he found it. Turning on the light He looked at the room. There was a window opposite the main door, a TV set, two closets on the right side, and a bunk bed on the left side. Sohel was shocked looking at the bunk bed as he saw a 20-year-old Italian man lying on his belly with his hands and legs in a really weird position on the bottom bunk. It looked like he was unconscious. He ran to the man and violently shook him.

"Hey… Are you okay?" After shaking him for roughly half a minute the man started moving. He got up, rubbed his eyes, and looked at Sohel. The moment he saw Sohel he jumped from the bed and got up in a fighting stance.

"Who are you? Why are you in my room?", asked the man.

"Hey, hey, calm down, I'm a recruit. I'm supposed to be your roommate from today."

The man calms down and gets easy. He extended his hand towards Sohel for a handshake and said, "Oh. so, you're Sohel huh? The man recommended by the Overlord himself. I'm Jacob Williams. Nice meeting you buddy." Sohel shakes Jacob's hand and says, "Nice meeting you too." After the handshake, Jacob throws himself back on the bed, and before he goes back to sleep he says, "Fresh up and go to sleep. We'll talk more tomorrow after the entrance ceremony." Sohel takes his nightwear from his bag and enters the washroom. After taking a shower and changing his clothes Jacob goes to sleep in the top bunk.

New Eden

Sohel slowly wakes up and turns on his phone to watch the time. As he sees it's almost 0800 he jumps down from the bed and runs to the washroom while calling Jacob to wake up. He enters the washroom and freshens up. He gets out of the washroom and sees Jacob waiting for him to get out. As Jacob runs to the washroom he says good morning to Sohel. Sohel replies and goes to his closet. He takes out a navy blue suit and wears it. By the time he's done, Jacob comes out of the washroom in a full white uniform with blue borders. He looks at Sohel and asks, "You didn't tailor your uniform?"

"I just learned yesterday that I'm joining SNA. Do you think I had time?"

Jacob nods, "Yeah makes sense. Let's go or we'll be late."

"Yeah."

Both of them got out of the room and went towards the lift.

Bravo Squad House, New Eden

Mitali taunts Jacob, "So..... Mr. Sleepyhead, you were saying?"

Jacob retaliates, "Oh. Shut up, you robot girl."

Mitali says, "But still you can't deny it Jacob, How deep do you sleep that Sohel practically had to break in and wake you up?"

Jacob hesitantly replies, "I was just tired that day, okay? I was looking around New Eden all day."

Annabelle says, "Uh yes. Here comes the excuse train."

Jacob was going to say something but shut up as he had nothing to say.

Gen Ahmed was silently drinking, he put down his beer can and said, "Let the boy off the hook already. Sohel, you continue."
