Musashibō Benkei

His names are Musashibou Benkei (武 蔵 坊 弁 慶, Musashibō Benkei), the Fighting Monk (荒 法師, Arahōshi), who is a legendary warrior monk who served Minamoto no Yoshitsune, whose exploits are documented in Gikeiki (義 経 記,), the story of Heike (平 家 物語, Heike Monogatari), and many others. As a devoted and deeply loving follower, he is resourceful and courageous, with knowledge of Kabuki and the Joururi, who are dearly loved.

This one Heroic Spirit is actually a different individual named Hitachibou Kaison (常 陸 坊 海 尊, Hitachibō Kaison), whose existence has little evidence of it. Initially, Hitachibou served Yoshitsune beside the real Benkei, who were briefly mentioned in Gikeiki where they shared joy and sorrow. Ultimately nothing more than a supporting role, in their final fight in Koromogawa no Tate (衣川 の 合 戦), she leaves her comrades in fear. Motivated by guilt and shame at his cowardice, he gained limited immortality by studying Buddhist psychology, and took on Benkei's identity for the rest of his life, spreading the legend of Benkei's heroic ideals and unmatched loyalty. He is said to have helped influence Yoshitsune's story in unexpected ways in Gikeiki, said to have taken the stage as a narrator who survived the Koromogawa battle to pass down the legend of Yoshitsune in many places. Disgraceful Caeson is said to have taken on the impressive task of transcending shame and living in disgrace. Unlike in the legends, Benkei has no weak points, although he does feel pain when he gets kicked up to his shin.

Musashino Benkei is the most famous spearmen in Japanese history. He is rumored to be the son of an Oni. Musashibou Benkei was known for his loyalty, courage and great strength. He is the ideal image of a hero who struggled to end his life together with Minamoto no Yoshitsune. Just by swinging his naginata (halberd), the common soldiers would be blown away and just by screaming, the hungry wolf would immediately run away.

Incidentally, his clone of Benkei is imperfect, and sometimes his true personality appears when grieving and joking.

His desire for the Holy Grail was to make the Benkei tale great. Even though that wish was halfway through, he would probably continue to talk about it his whole life.

In Fuyuki's singularity, he turns into Shadow Servant, then cooperates with Shadow Assassin (CA Hassan) to fight us. Cu Caster then came to our aid and defeated them both.

In Babylon, he is also among the 7 Servants who were summoned there and fought against Lahmu.

He was designed by Jinroku Myougaya and was a character created by Katsuya Terada for the online game project Fate / Apocrypha which was canceled and not included in the final version. He was assembled along with 13 other initial Servant designs in Fate / complete IV Extra material. The project was revived in a new format (novel) afterwards, however it was not used with David, Saint George, and Sakata Kintoki, and was replaced by Vlad III and Karna. Benkei's designs were reused in other works. Yuuichirou Higashide underlines him as a Servant whose mentality is so complex that it makes it difficult for him to act as his Master's partner.

Eighth Implement (八 ツ 道具, Yattsu Dōgu) is an ability used by Musashibou Benkei, which allows him to temporarily claim the opponent's NP as the 8th of his 7 Implements (the 7 weapons on his back). The claimed NP can be manipulated with several abilities even though its use is unknown to Benkei. The weapon will return to its owner after some time, but can also be launched as a projectile to deal damage while returning it. Not that he was unable to use the opponent's NP permanently, but he chose to return it after being satisfied with his curiosity.

Benkei Butsu (Buddha) (弁 慶 仏, Benkei Butsu) is a technique used by Musashibou Benkei, manifesting multiple replicas of himself by cutting through the space around him with a long sword. Each replica is equivalent to its original strength, and can be used to protect the real one from enemy attacks. Can manifest up to seven replicas at random and his own attributes will temporarily increase.

The Pilgrimage of the Five Hundred Arhat (五百 羅漢 補 陀 落 渡海, Gohyaku Rakan Fudarakutokai) is NP Musashibou Benkei. He can summon 500 Arhats, in holy procession with the great task of making sacred pilgrimages, departing for a journey across the sea to Mount Potalaka. Crossing the sea while confined in containers similar to coffins to reach the holy lands of the West, they travel this way to attain enlightenment in life in a practice known as Fudarakutokai (補 陀 落 渡海). For all those who stood in their path and failed their resistance check, they were forcibly dragged along with them, entered Nirvana and finally brought to the holy land. In other words, this is 'semi-compulsory instant death magic' (there should be a chance to instill it).

In terms of gameplay, the effect is good, it can stun all enemies. For a chance, he's 80% in NP5, this can be tricked by bringing GilCas as support.

a.k.a Exorcism of Apparitions (怨 霊 調伏, Onryō Chōbuku) is a Skill that (with the prayer of nine characters - kuji Rin Pyou Tou Sha Kai Jin Retsu Zai Zen (臨 兵 闘 者皆 陣列 在前)) protects him and negates the evil curse. If successful, the opponent's use of magecraft can be sealed. Benkei has the same technique as a monk.

For gameplay, this is really useful because it can lock your opponent's skills, plus if it's level 10 you won't miss it. CD is also only 5 turn. The skill with this model is good to bring on turn 1 when Goetia wants to use NP.

2. Unyielding Stance

a.k.a To Stand Firm (仁 王立 さ, Niōdachi sa) is a Skill that reproduces the famous tale Benkei has ever performed. Of course, since he's not the real Benkei, he doesn't have the ability to make this skill NP. Instead, it became a simple defensive skill capable of targeting him, falling into a state where all attacks would be concentrated on him.

For gameplay, this makes it a tanker even if it only makes 1 turn. With a 60% deff up, he becomes quite cranky.

The Blank Subscription List (白紙 の 勧 進帳, Hakushi no Kanjinchō) is a skill that reproduces Benkei's famous tale. A fake "command" with the equivalent of the enemy Master's Command Seal, ordering "no NP to be used". If the targeted Servants are not deceived by the origin of the order, then they will obey. However, in the event that the Skill's effect is removed, re-application is possible. He forcibly enforced the NP sealing order. However since he wasn't actually Benkei, the sealing probability was low.

For gameplay, this skill is good because it can seal NP all enemies. Yes, its AoE nature makes it good, Chance can also be tricked with GilCas. It's an old CD.

Actually he has 1 more skill, but it doesn't apply to FGO.

Attendant of Iron (く ろ が ね の 傅, Kurogane no Itsuki) is a skill whereby with his presence alone, he is able to strengthen his Master's physical attributes. The real Benkei has 6 black birthmarks, said to have appeared because his mother ingested metal (kurogane) during her pregnancy. Itsuki, in the Shinto tradition, is a title ascribed to the servant of god. Yoshitsune, a beautiful child, is considered to have the aspects of a noble, and Benkei is her loyal servant. This skill is a reproduction of that story.
