White 2

White turned off the phone, putting it in his back pocket. The last lines of their mission had begun. The man slowly made his way out of the Wolf base, passing by gangsters going up and down, grabbing cutlasses, knives, guns, anything that could be used to kill or gravely injure ones foe. A war had begun, and if the 'message' had been delivered to the Orca, then they would be doing same as well.

"White."

White stopped, recognizing that frail but sturdy voice. It was Rah Gul, the leader of the Wolf. The man leaned on his cane, slowly making his way to White's side.

"Why are you leaving without my permission?"

"I have something important to do." White replied, uneasy. Rah Gul wasn't like Annabel or Dominic who cared little about him, nor was he as dumb as Karver, blinded by his sadism. He was wise, the wisest in the Wolf.

"Really?" Rah Gul looked around him, "More important than this?"

"Yes."

"I understand that war isn't something that either of us crave, but we've been drawn into one. It calls for all hands,"

"Even if it means that I have to put my life on the line, to protect a pride that I don't respect?"

Rah Gul glared at him.

"Deep down, Rah Gul, you are starting to lose your confidence in this 'pride of yours. Time has made you see the futility of the power you once held. But I won't make the same mistake." With that, White turned to leave. He expected the man to shout after him. He expected the man to call his goons to try and pin him to the ground but to his surprise, Rah Gul didn't. White continued to walk away.

Deep within his heart, his own words felt bitter to him. Considering that the entire war was in the plans of Solomon Hunter, he was more or less an accomplice to all this, it meant that every single death that would happen tonight, and till the war ended, will be on him. The blood of the innocent will be on him and his brother, Kah Mal.

There was nothing they could do about it.

White walked through the thick snow, thinking about Claudia, whether she was safe. The oncoming war would confuse her, but she would rest safe, knowing that her two brothers would come back to her. Even if someone invaded her shack, she would be too powerful for them to overwhelm her.

Many residents had already rushed inside, some were still on the streets, packing up the last of whatever goods they could find, whatever thing that will make them sustained for a little while before hell was let loose. They pushed people out of the way, hurting and running through others, all in the name of greed. If he walked up to one of them and said they were acting the same way as the gangsters did, they'd lash out, denying it with all their heart and soul. That's the way it was years ago, way before the Orca and Wolf gained power, way before Rah Gul became leader, and way before Solomon Hunter came to Iceland.

His assignment was right in front of him. White discarded the white wolf coat he wore, not bothered by the harsh cold. He entered the Zero Ground territory. Even the residents of the Zero Ground, who lived under the watchful eyes of their 'protector', were safely resting in their houses, fear of even stepping out. So much for peaceful and safe.

He walked through the empty market stalls which would have been teeming with people on any other day, with no regard to the weather. Fear was indeed a powerful weapon. Too powerful when used by the right person. A man like Solomon Hunter. After making his way through the alleyways, he appeared at his destination. The Closed Den.

Approaching the place. He knocked at the door twice. Not hearing a response, he knocked again. He knocked a third time, a little impatient. He waited for a good long five minutes, before opening the door himself. He made his way through the hallway and into the bar, where the woman sat, drinking a beer.

"What do you want? Isn't the commotion outside a hint to go back where you came from?"

"Actually, no."

Madam Alicia turned sharply upon hearing the voice, her eyes filled with fear. Instinctively, she reached into her coat pocket drawing out a knife.

"Kah Mal. What the hell do you want?"

"I came here to see you. And no, I am not Kah Mal."

"Huh?" She looked at him. Then she saw the blindfold.

"You're… White."

White nodded. "Call me Nigel. Nigel Mal."

"You're his brother…you know what, never mind, what the hell do you want from me?"

"You. Madam Alicia. Or is it Ms. Watson,"

"Call me whatever you want. I don't care."

"I'm here to kill you. I don't presume you would like to go easy would you?"

"You think?"

The Wolf Gang was not the only gang that was in chaos, The Orca was in even more riot, considering that they had just lost a member. And not just any member, but the protégé of the Torn Wyrn himself.

Torn stood emotionless, staring into nothing, nothing but the air, not registering the people moving up and down, nor the shouts of Marcel to the other gangsters, nor the trembling of Jenna, while Jenny stood beside her, trying to be brave, while the same fear shook him to the core. Nor did he notice the two woman in the black suits and brown fur coat walk passed him, accompanied by a man with white hair and dark skin in a similar outfit. Or maybe, the years of training that Torn had made himself go through prevented him from not seeing it, but just that he was to unconcerned to not notice it.

Nathan.

Tigre came stumbling beside him laughing hysterically, banging, and cracking, the ground.

"Enough, Tigre." Torn said, how long are you going to behave like a joke?"

"Tch," Tigre said, "I wish I could be like this forever."

"Do that, and Ron might die."

"So, heard about your boy. That what making you like a sad little dwarf. The Orca needs a man like you."

"You know me. Better than most. What do I feel like doing now?"

"Going to sleep."

"Exactly,"

"Wouldn't bring back the dead, would it?"

"It won't but it would definitely also not help. You've changed."

"We grew old, Michelle. All three of us."

"I am not old."

"Uh-huh. The woman who sank the Upper Half in blood, became a mad woman who scratches faces and bangs her head on the wall. Sure. You were just making sure that you weren't bossed around."

"You know if you really want to see her, you can just go."

Torn looked at Tigre. Tigre turned to leave, laughing hysterically.

She was right. He did want to see her, even if it was just once. He wanted to see her so much. To make sure she was ok. Alicia had suffered her whole life. Losing her husband, her child. Everything. The three of them had only each other.

Torn walked away, leaving the chaos behind him, unknown to him, that it was all part of a grander scheme.
