Chapter Sixteen

My phone pinged and I looked at the screen

It was a message from 'my perfect boyfriend😍' Gabriel changed his name on my phone.

I opened the message.

My perfect boyfriend😍: let's go out.

Me: I have to go to the supermarket to get something

My perfect boyfriend😍: let's meet there then

Me: okay. See you in ten

My perfect boyfriend😍: its a date😏

I smile, dropping it on my table I go to shower.

I'm trying to pick which cereal to buy, this or this?

"Crystal?" I turn

"Ken"

"Hey how have you been?"

I shrug "been good, I guess"

"Look, I'm sorry about last time"

"You didnt even text to explain" I was over it, but I still think I deserved an explanation.

"How about we do it over a cup of coffee?" His eyes flickers to a figure behind me.

"Babe" Gabriel wraps his hand around my waist.

"You are with him now?" Ken asks looking between us.

"Yea so?" It was Gabriel who answered

"Since when did the devil start loving others?, you only love yourself"

"You don't know me"Gabriel say his tone different.

" if I broke your heart, this guy would break you" he warns.

"Babe what's taking you so long?" A new figure approached. It was the girl from his place.

"Came to talk to my friends" he smile at her. He gives me one last warning look.

"Let's go" stirring her away they leave.

"You know Ken?" I ask. Gab just Shrugs

"Let's go"

I pay for my things at the counter.

"Talk later" he kisses my cheek and walks away leaving me puzzled.

I take a cab home.

Laura is at home when i get home.

"Where did you go?" She asks

"Mind your business" I didn't spare her another glance, I walk to the kitchen. She follows, she must be looking for trouble

"Talk to me with respect, I am not your mate"

"Mind your business" I pause. "Please"

"If you want respect why don't you build your own family instead scattering another"

Her hand went up landing on my cheek.

Mine went up on its own accord hitting her too.

"Did you just slap me?"

" I can always repeat it if you are not sure of the first"

She jumped me on making me loose balance and hit my head on the edge of the table.

She sat on me attacking me with hits.

I could only cover my face to prevent her from damaging it.

"Leave me" she shouted as she was carried off me by Ikenna.

"Let me show her" he lifted me slowly. My head throbbed.

"Are you people mad in this house?" Father shouted. Funny how he always shows when its over

"Ask your daughter, I was on my own when she attacked me" Laura feigned pain. I stare at her in disbelief. I don't bother explaining.

"Crystal have you gone crazy? First you go around killing people now you are fighting"

I don't reply.

"Its high time I get you admitted in a mental hospital"

"What?"

"Yes" Laura agreed.

"There is no way in heaven earth or hell would I go to an asylum" I swear.

"I have made up my mind"

"Father you can't.." Ikenna started.

"Quiet! I am tired of you children, is it when she kills my wife?" I look at Ikenna. He opens his mouth to say something but I dont wait to hear. I run out of the house.
