He never saw the man move. One moment, he was sitting on the table behind him. The next, he blocked the now-closed door.

“We’re not done, I’m afraid.” His smile was gone. “Far from it.”

Jesse took a half-step back, unable to mask his surprise. He hadn’t armed himself—there was no reason to bring weapons with them on their vacation—and he wasn’t sure he could take Marcus in hand-to-hand combat.

“I’d love to stick around for more tales of your misspent youth, but I don’t really have the time. But I’m sure there’s somebody out there who’ll hang on your every word.”

“Funny you should phrase it that way. Then again, knowing Gideon’s particular kinks, that’s probably part of your everyday vocabulary.” He took a step closer, though he kept himself between Jesse and the door. “I’ll bet you spend a lot of time on your knees, too. Does he make you beg for it?”
