Berkes, Cory Berkes

"Oh hey! Yeah, she's....nice?" I rub the back of my neck and look at my feet, keeping up my 'I'm just another innocent girl' façade.

"Oh yeah, especially in the 'meeting the new neighbors' department" he puts his hands in the air making a gesture while saying 'meeting the new neighbors'. I force out a giggle.

"I'm sure she's not bad, I guess I might of interrupted her while she was doing something"                             "you're cute you know that?" I look away as if I was blushing. I hear his footsteps as he walks up to me chuckling. I look up. "Whatcha got there?" he looks at the ball in my hands.

"Oh, well I found it in my drive way when I pulled in and well, it's kinda why I went and visited Agatha. I don't know where it came from. I would of gone to your place first it's just that your car isn't in the drive way anymore so I thought that you had gone out." He looks at me questioningly. 

"Why would you have come to my place when you don't even know where I live?" I look at him confused.

"You don't live next door with that little girl?"

"Oh no, that's my mates place. He was getting ready for work and I babysit his little sister while he is working"                                                                                                                  "Oh well can you maybe ask him if he has lost a ball? Just because I might not be here later on and I wouldn't want him to think I stole it or anything I mean I wouldn't steal anything If it wasn't mine, saying that though it wouldn't be called stealing if I took what was mine." I finish my rambling by going quiet and looking at my feet.

"You are so adorable, I tell you what pass me your phone." I look at him confused and hesitantly unlock my phone and hand it over to him. He shoves his phone into my arms, "Here put your number in it" shocked, I let my fingers fly over the screen of his phone as I put my number and name into his phone and hand it back to him when he passes my phone back. I look back  at my phone and see the contact name he put himself under.

"Cory? Is that your name?" he gives me a winning smile. "Yeah, Berkes", "Berkes? I thought you just said it was Cory?" He chuckles, "Berkes as in Cory Berkes, gosh your adorable. Have I told you that?" He looks down at his phone. "Luna? Hmmm suits you." I let my façade falter a bit, "What do you mean it suits me?" "Woah there Lulu, I just meant because your so innocent"

"Right sorry" I give him an apologetic smile, secretly grilling myself for letting my façade slip.

"No problem Lulu, hey are you going to a school round here?" He looks at me, his eyes full of hope.

"Yeah, Park Ridge High. Why?" He gives me a full smile. "Looks like we'll be seeing each other everyday in school then" I give him an amused look.

I furrow my eye brows, "Hey aren't you babysitting?" I asked worried.

His expression slowly morphs into one of pure worry, "Yeah! Crap I left her in the bath!" He starts running but trips over.

I run up to him. "Are you okay!!"

"I-I think I twisted my ankle! I don't think I can climb their stairs to check on her can you do it for me please?" "Yeah of course" I start running to the front door. I twist the door knob. "It's locked!!! I cant get in Cory!!" He stands up and hobbles over to my side.

He tries the door knob. "Damnit!" and slams his hand on the door in frustration.

"Uncwle Corwy?" I hear a small voice on the inside. "Wait, Cory I can hear her." I knock on the door "Princess can you please open the door? I'm outside with Cory but he cant get in because the door is locked"

"I tant tawk to stwangerrs" I sigh and rest my forehead on the door. "Brooky Bear can you please open the door for your uncle Cory?" I hear shuffling on the inside and I stand up so that I don't fall face first when she opens the door.

The door opens up and reveals a little girl. As soon as she see's Cory she runs up to him and hugs his legs, accidentally hitting his twisted ankle. He winces. "What did you do to my uncwle Corwy?" she glares at me hugging Cory tighter, carefully avoiding his sore ankle. I give her a small smile, "I did nothing princess but if you let us in I can bandage it up so it makes him all better?" "Harpwer swaid I tant let anyone I dwont know inswide sowwy." I give her another smile and squat down to her height. "That's okay princess. Hi! My name's Luna Claire Willows, I just moved in next door and my favourite colour is green. What's your name?" "My name's Bwooke." She giggles. "Well Brooke now that we know each other how about you help me get your uncle Cory inside so that we can fix his foot?" She nods her head and runs inside. I look up at Cory and see him smiling at me.

"You're really great with kids!" I just laugh. "Oh no I'm planning to cook her for dinner and grind her bones to make my bread" I say rolling my eyes. He just laughs and hobbles inside, laying down on the couch where Brooke was already sitting with the first aid kit.
