Chapter 27: Tier 1 Requirements

"The Tribal Chief requires my presence can you guide these two to my hut?" Vincent requested.

"Ok, Guru don't keep the Chief waiting," Bagheera spoke in his usual masculine voice.

"Scrubs follow me to where you will be staying," Bagheera said but his next action was not in line with his statement. Since he scooped the two kids like an ice cream placing Jonah in his armpit and Jane on his shoulder.

"Let me go. Bad tiger didn't you say to follow you. Bully….Meanie…,"Jane screamed while kicking her feet in the air frustrated by her transportation.

Jonah on the other hand folded his arms not making any noise and curiously observing his surroundings unlike his sister.

Unknown whether he was being composed or too scared to make a sound.

Vincent seeing this shook his head while making his way the tribal Chief's abode.

......

Inside the chief's hut, Vincent braced himself for the upcoming meeting, unaware of the hidden issues the chief wished to discuss. Meanwhile, Jane and Jonah experienced the unexpected modes of transportation by Bagheera, who seemed to blend sternness with playful teasing.

The chief spoke after seeing Guru make himself comfortable, "Guru, you have brought newcomers to our sanctuary, but there are matters that need urgent attention. Sit, let us speak."

"Chief, I am at your service. What troubles the Tribe of Tigers?" Vincent said, his tone laced with respect.

The Chief narrowed his amber eyes before continuing, "Guru, there's a looming threat, an impending apocalypse that endangers not only our tribe but the entire world. The world as we know it may be doomed.

Vincent surprised since he also wanted to share this news but since it was brought up he decided to share as much information as possible,"Impending apocalypse? Chief the apocalypse has started already. In the forest I have met several undead creatures called zombies.

Though the world may be meeting its end. It is not without a benefit since every time I kill a zombie, I feel a bit stronger."

"Hmm, it seems this disaster is both an opportunity and doom, no wonder I get this rectangle blinking in my face about something called a Tier advancement," the Chief said to Guru while gently stroking his beard.

Vincent who heard the Chief's statement recoiled in shock while thinking to himself. 'Damn, I thought my speed was fast but this Chief of mine is on another level. Its not even been 20 hours since I've arrived on this planet and this monster is ready for a Tier advancement?'

"Chief, I think you can control the screen through thoughts," Vincent advised while watching the Chief.

"Hmm, ooo … i see," the chief kept muttering to himself.

Vincent's eye's kept twitching since he knew it was just the Chief's way of keeping him in suspense.

"What do you see there chief?" Vincent questioned after seeing the Chief giving him a side eye that seemed to say, I can do this all day.

"Ahem, well it say for me to Commander rank, I just need to kill 100 Tier 1 monsters. Then 15 Tier 1 monsters alone and 3 Tier 2 monsters. Eating the core of the 50 tier 1 monsters to successfully enter into the Commander grade as a monster," the Chief said happily sharing the information.

Before Vincent could male any analysis or ask any questions, he heard a boisterous laughter from the Chief.

"Ahaha, Haha. Finally these bones can be put to work in battle. I no longer need to sit back as the tribe does all the hunting," followed by the Chief's statement was a wide grin as a monstrous aura burst from his body in the form of a lion roaring.

"Strong but manageable," Vincent muttered after feeling the aura wash over him not flinching one bit. But this did not escape the keen eye of the chief.

Though the Chief might decimate him in terms battle experience but he felt deep down that he might hold on to his life but I terms of a life or death but he didn't know at what cost.

But without getting distracted and getting back on track, did the chief say eat cores.

Wanting to dispel his confusion, Vincent just asked,"Chief what do you mean by eating cores? As a requirement for advancement."

"Hmm, you don't know? We eat the cores of our enemies in order to take their advantages for ourself."

Not waiting for a follow-up question he continue with his explanation.

"Let's say you fight a gruelling battle with a cheetah and you come out on top. Your reward is to eat the core and continue your path to strength alongside the level thingy.

I had an encounter with a Level 13 Tier 1 snail and that monster beguiled its name it was fast as hell."

Pausing briefly as if reminiscing, the Chief briefly caressed a small scar just under his whiskers and above his lips. The scar was round and jagged as if made by a blunt weapon.

"This scar was cause by that snail, little fucker actually awakened a poison element.

Spat a paralysing poison at me before hurling some good ol' poison spears at me. But i won. Smacked him left, right and centre.

Before I get sidetracked after murdering that monster, my instincts took over before I stuffed its bloody core in my mouth. And guess what that screen thingy told me that I received an increase in intelligence and Stamina. So as a noble chief that I am what was the best way to test my Stamina."

Stopping briefly the Chief abruptly released his aura before pushing it around in a circular wave in and out of the tent as if checking something.

"Psh, Guru come here," the chief motioned for Guru to come close as if about to say something important.

Rolling his eyes and moving towards the Chief, he stopped 10 metres of the Chief.

"I won't bite you. Come closer,"the Chie motioned.

5 metres.

"Closerrrr" The chief said with a mischievous look in his eyes. Upon seeing Vincent within an earshot, he whispered.

"What better way than to..."
