The Seven Circles (WIP)

This planet's natives surprisingly have very similar religious beliefs to humanity's previous world. But aside from their differences, they have one belief that united them all: there are seven circles of hell based on all seven deadly sins, depending on how devoted they were to their belief. Where each layers have different methods of punishments from their sins.

1. Pride: Sinners suffered psychological torment rather than physical pain, where the lush tropical forest provide no single threat whatsoever that surrounds them. The sinners in that layer realize that they will never enter heaven because of the peaceful because this layer serves as a perfect punishment for those who wanted more, throwing in those who were very arrogant in their previous lives, where neither rewards nor punishments occur.

2. Greed: Relentless natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, thunderstorms, and tornadoes tormented all sinners consumed by greed for strength, wealth, and more. In that hell, there was a demonic being resembling an angel that'd bring them salvation. But as they get close to them, they'll just continue to wreak havoc upon the sinners with the horrifying depiction of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse.

3. Wrath: Wrathful sinners endure an ultra-violent storm that drowns their bodies in a restless ocean filled with raging waves, thunderstorms, and nightmarish deep sea monsters. There are three different layers to the punishment:

A. Storm: The restless ocean full of waves will unleash the greatest rainstorm upon wrathful souls who always vent their wrath to others, such as hate spouters, war bringers, provocators, genociders, mass killers, and so forth. The nightmarish deep-sea monster will devour their bodies. In that layer, deep-sea monsters devour each other, reflecting the sinners' violent wrathful nature, where survival becomes a matter of kill or be killed.

B. Disorder: wrathful souls who're venting their wrath to themselves, such as by committing suicide, self-harming, self-shaming, and so forth. The trench of the ocean will submerge them and transform them into monstrous yet miserable beings. These beings will carry a massive explosive ball as punishment for neglecting their burden. And in fact, the sinners of this layer will go as far as bashing the explosive ball on other sinners if they have enough to carry the burden. But in the end, the sinners' souls still be reincarnated as the same miserable being and continuously enduring the punishment.

C. Genocide: The gigantic sea dragon snake, resembling Leviathan and Midgardsormr, consumes wrathful souls who vent their anger towards God, art, and nature, such as blasphemers, sodomizers, and many more. While the parasite within the monster's digestive system simultaneously consumes their bodies.

4. Gluttony: All sinners endure punishment in the scorching desert, continuously starving and thirsty yet remaining standing. And every time they witness nearby edible feasts, it'll grow distant to them as it becomes a mirage where their bodies are getting weak but still standing continuously.

5. Lust: This hell is where lustful sinners endure a dark, creepy, and disturbing nature, with nightmarish beings always lurking in every shadow. Eventually, endless loop of labyrinth, blackened thunderstorms, and even the castle of blackened veins with abominations give them a perfect punishments of their sins. There are three different layers:

A. Medusa: Sinners who commit lust to themselves, such as masturbation, vulgar arts, and so forth turned into stone as atonement to prevent their very nature. This layer of lust is filled with a labyrinth that effectively confuses sinners in the midst of their escapades. Sinners who try their hardest become exhausted and are ultimately turned into stone, as each petrificated sinners' joint suddenly mutilated into each other as the reflection for their previous sins.

B. Tartarus: Sinners who lusted after others were condemned to continuously engage in their lustful acts to other, regardless of their sexual orientation, until their bodies abruptly transformed into either copulant or abominant forms, as the Phlegethon ocean of boiling sperm and blood covered their bodies. Copulant is where two sinners in their normal states accursed into copulated to each other until their bodies agglutinated and turned into nightmarish beings. While abominant is where one copulant sinner copulates another sinner that is still in the normal state. But as they turned into abominants, they will never be able to copulate anymore as their genitals have already malfunctioned due to the curse.

C. Asmodeous: In the castle of blackened veins, where the most degenerate sinners who have committed unforgivable acts of lust, such as rape, pedophilia, pimping, bestiality, cheating, and so on, will transform into cheatery. Which is similar to copulant or abominant, but as they turned into one, their pain was greater than the latter. However, in a rare exception, if the victims of this layer are willingly embraced by the cheatery, they'll transform into one.

6. Sloth: The boiling red tide of poison drowned all slothful sinners, with the waves devouring their bodies to the bone as punishment for their very nature, as they also tormented inside the scorching graveyard. Those who rarely took any responsibilities, praise the God's existences, refuse to fight evil in the name of pacifism, or even cowardly compliance are thrown into this layer as their atonement.

7. Envy: The freezing nature of this hell's layer must be endured by all sinners who are full of jealousy and dare to wreak havoc because of it, until their bodies are frozen in the deep, dark cave full of ice. The layer is divided into three layers:

A. Cainus: This resembles Cain's actions towards Abel, where envious sinners who commit jealousy against others with sheer violence will be frozen in the deep, dark cavern. No such scorching flames could melt the ice in this layer, further reinforcing the punishment for the envious sinners.

B. Antoria: Envious souls, who desired to surpass others as they were ungrateful or full of despair through manipulation of themselves, will face their atonement by being drowned in the ice cavern's steep pond whilst still remained breathing. But they will suffer the most painful, continuous muscle cramps everytime they tried to swim to the surface.

C. Judecca: Very much resembling what Judas Iscariot committed to Jesus Christ, envy toward God with sheer corruption will result in the heaviest torment. The sinner in this layer will freeze on the frozen mountain peaks while their bodies were chained and also impaled by million of swords on all sides. And even worse, their joints will be mutilated and continuously enduring the same punishment in this layer.

Of course, I took some inspiration from Dante's Inferno. But I replaced it with seven deadly sins and tweaked it with my own idea to add more originality and some flavor to it.
