Part 3 : 50%

I went home and took my wallet. I texted Briana if she's already there.

I hope her check-up went well.

I waited for five minutes but there was still no reply so I already went my way.

After walking for five minutes, I arrived at Kendall's house.

I went straight to the kitchen by walking through the backdoor of their house. I opened the door to their kitchen and the three of them were there. Kendall, Briana, and Axon. Axon is also one of our classmates.

"Ok Caroline's here. Let's go to the central." Kendall said. We all nodded.

We got to the central and went to the markets. Kendall went to buy the frozen food, Axon went to the farmer's market, and I and Briana are in the stores to buy the packaging for the food.

When me and Brina were choosing the packaging boxes to use she casually said. "There's a hole in my heart expanding 3 centimeters.

I stopped what I was doing and looked at her with a worried expression.

I proceeded to put the packaging in our cart. "Do you need surgery?"

Briana already had a hole in her heart since she was born. She was always exempted from physical activities in P.E, cheerleading, playing sports, light running, and stress. In her elementary years, the hole in her heart expanded to 2 centimeters, and now, is 3.

"I don't know..." She calmly said.

"Why?" I patiently asked. I wanted to hear that news come from her. I know that many heart patients have a less than 50% chance of living.

She sighed as she picked out a gallon of cooking oil from the racks. "I only have 50% if I do the surgery. I can't risk that 50%.

Understandable. I know that she'll live but still, I'm no the one while a hole in their heart.

"You know" I started. "It all depends on you if you want to do it...but if you don't...I know that you'll live long." I smiled at her.

She just gave me a small smile. "Anyway! Let's change the topic. Me and Angelo got back together."

I smiled. "That's great. I assume that he's gonna quit smoking?" I said as we walked towards the cash register.

"Yep. He doesn't want to expose me to smoke. He quit after we got together." She proudly said.

That smoke would've killed her heart for sure. "That's amazing. You got lucky with Angelo." I said as we got our things and exited the store.

We kept talking about her pet Skip which is pincer...I think? I remember that I'm gonna get myself a puppy later which made me excited. I'm just gonna surprise Briana later when I do get the dog.

"Hey, we're right here!" The both of us turned around to see Kendall and Axon. We head back together to Kendall's house and Pablo and Muriel were already there.

Pablo, Muriel, and Axon started cooking the street foods, and Kendall and I were making the drinks and the sweets.

Barry, another group member arrived and apologized to be being late. He started accepting the orders and kept a record of the buyers while Briana was waiting because she was in charge of the packing station.

"You're all looking too stressed. Are there lots of orders?"

Ruby...

I'm not joking if I said that everyone doesn't like her. She's just...a demon.

Axon and Barry are friends with Ruby but they never really meant it. Their friendship isn't real.

I could see Briana avoiding to look at Ruby and I was as well. Briana looked at me and gave her a 'me too' look. We just know that Ruby was only here to see if our business was actually making money or not.

I just hope she doesn't talk to me.
