Part 14: Aunt Jenny

I smiled as Kosair left with Levi.

But then...I need to do something about Jasper.

"Stay here Bruno." I leave Bruno with a full bowl and went to Aunt Jenny's house where Jasper lives.

I kept saying to myself that I'm gonna do it. I wanna tell her everything.

I'm now at the front of their house and by the silence, I assume that Jasper's not here.

I took a deep breath and rang the doorbell.

I hear footsteps and someone looked at me through the window. It was aunt Jenny.

When she saw me, her face lit up with a smile.

"Caroline! It's a surprise to see you."

I nodded. "I haven't talked to you for so long."

She paused as she saw the look on my face. "Is there something bothering you?" She asked.

I nodded. "It's about Jasper."

She looked at me with a blank expression. "I understand. Please, come in."

I walked into the house and sat on the chair opposite aunt Jenny.

She looked at me and gave me a small smile. "Is there something he has to pay?"

I nodded. "That...and something else. He has to pay twenty dollars for the two projects all-in-all. I sent the list of costs as to why they need to give that much." aunt Jenny already reached for her pocket and gave me the forty dollars. "Aunt Jenny...this is-"

"No, Caroline. Thank you for doing the project. Even though my Jasper is wasn't helping. I'm willing to pay double."

I looked in her eyes and saw pain. If my thoughts are correct, she must've though that Jasper was a burden to me...which is absolutely correct.

I gathered up my courage and looked at her with a serious face. "Aunt Jenny. I saw Jasper earlier with some guys smoking and drinking at the shore...and...he hit me."

It pained me as I looked at her. Her face turned to sadness and disappointment. She looked above at the ceiling and then looked at me. "So he really was that bad of a student. Tell me everything." She said as she looked at me with a sad smile.

I told aunt Jenny everything from him cheating multiple times, being called to the principal's office for five times. This includes Jasper beating and bullying many of his classmates to do his homework for him, clean the classroom instead of him, borrowing money from me, and promising to pay me back but didn't.

Then I told her about he wasn't helping at all through the multiple projects that we have been together as a group, Jasper skipping class to drink and smoke, being with our neighbors too to other towns to fight.

I told her everything that was bothering me because of Jasper. I felt like a big weight was lifted from my shoulders.

"I can't believe this is what he turned out...after all I've done." Aunt Jenny said as she looked at the floor. "You know, Caroline. Here." aunt Jenny gave me five hundred dollars.

"What's this for?"

"Just keep it...and I'm sorry that Jasper did all that. This is the reward for letting me know."

I gave her a worried look. No one ever told her anything? Even the teachers, the principal? "You don't have to give me-"

"Just take it, Caroline. Even tho, since you're already proclaimed the top student of the school and in the graduating students, you could've just endured everything and kept quiet."

I froze.

"Pardon?" I think I heard her wrong.

Aunt Jenny just looked at me with a bored expression. "Why couldn't you just keep that information to yourself. You're just saying all that to taint my beloved grandson's image."

I furrowed my eyebrows at her. "There are many witnesses, aunt Jenny. It just so happened that I'm the only one who told you personally."

aunt Jenny crossed her arms. "Just get out of my house. You're being a stuck-up and spoiled brat."

I looked at her, horrified. I never...

She never...

I've never thought that she'd be like this.

"Why the hell are you here?!"

I turned around and it was like a bucket of cold water was dumped on me.

Jasper!
