Savage: The Night Wizard - (A Harry Potter Fanfic)

I was an ordinary boy with a simple life... That is, until the day I died... and now I don't even know what is common in my life anymore! But in reality... I prefer it like this. Who would like to be normal if you could be a wizard? Especially if you're the greatest wizard ever! Well... I don't. ****************************************** Also help me in Patrë-on /Se7enX, there are advanced chapters for you and it motivates me to write even more. Yeah! Here's the new chapter!

________________________________________________________________________________________

Friday finally arrived, and that meant that this would be the last day of school for the first week. And today we would have two Herbology classes in a row, and then we would have the rest of the day off, much to the joy of many.

After my morning practice, I caught up with Anthony, who by some miracle had woken up early, and we sat down in the common room to wait for Terry, which wasn't long since he arrived a few moments later. And then the three of us went to the Great Hall for breakfast.

___________________________________________________________________

After breakfast, we started heading to the greenhouses for our Herbology class. And when we got to greenhouse one, we saw that Professor Sprout was already waiting for us with Spiky Bushs ready. So after we went to the same places we occupied last time, Professor Sprout started to explain in more detail about the {Incendio} spell, and after that asked us to try and burn the Spiky Bushs again.

Professor Sprout passed by those who had difficulties in the last class and started to help them, and sometimes she also gave some tips for those who were already about to destroy a Spiky Bush.

As I could already destroy a Spiky Bush easily, even if 'accidentally', Professor Sprout told me to work on my control, where I would try to create a weak jet of flame, only to hurt the Spiky Bush, and then create a more strong flame to incinerate him.

So for the rest of the class I was alternating between burning, charring and incinerating. And with this training, I could feel my already high control of the spells increase even more, and the weird thing is that I thought Transfiguration or Spells would be the class that would help me with this, but it looks like I shouldn't have judged the class of Herbology so lightly.

After some thought, I understood that the {Incendio} spell is a simple spell, but as its main focus is to make fire, an element known for its unpredictability, temperament and destructive power, it ends up becoming more complicated when compared to turn a match into a needle or create light.

Even when I did a wandless fire spell, I could still control it more easily than with a wand, and I began to think this was due to the fact that I trained my magic longer without a wand than with a wand, and my wand has a Thunderbird feather in it, which should have added fuel to the spell's temper. And I think this was the first time my wand influenced my spell.

'Hmm, weird' I thought to myself, 'Why did you just start interfering now?' I questioned myself.

Deciding to put those thoughts aside for now, I refocused on the class and trying to burn Spiky Bush to several different degrees.

When the Herbology class was over, luckily without any problems, we all put away our materials, and before leaving Professor Sprout gave us an essay on precautions to take against thorny plants.

I'd already had lunch, and right now I was in the Ravenclaw common room playing Snaps with Anthony and Stephen Cornfoot, one of the boys of our year, and meanwhile Terry was playing chess against Corner. The girls in our year were gossiping at a table in the corner of the common, and the older students were either chatting with their friends or studying, as 5th, 6th and 7th Grades had to prepare for their NEWT's and OWL's.

"Hey! I just realized something" Anthony exclaimed, bringing my attention to him, "Ethan got over 60 house points in his first week of school!" he said looking at me in wonder, and Terry who was just a few feet away and paying attention to Anthony started to stare at me too.

"True. I never stopped to count, but Ethan got at least 50 points on his own, without even trying" Terry said after doing the math in his head. And Phillips, who was on our side reading, looked up sharply from his book.

"How many points did you get?!" Phillips exclaimed in shock, and some students who were standing nearby and listening to his outburst began to pay attention to our conversation.

"70 points" I said nonchalantly, but that was more than enough to make half the students wide their eyes in surprise.

"70...70 points!" Phillips repeated in shock. Then he started looking at me in wonder, like I was a chest full of gold.

"Uhum" I confirmed nonchalantly, as if that was the most normal thing.

"70 points?! And I was thinking 40 points the first day would be the most you could get this week, hell, I thought that would be the most you could get in a month" prefect Jenkins said to me, and I will not lie... I was actually a little offended that she thought I couldn't get more points than that.

"What would they think if they knew he doesn't care about the house points?" Terry whispered to Anthony, already imagining the face everyone would make.

"I can already imagine the Slytherins' faces when they realize this year's House Cup is going to be Ravenclaw" Phillips said, with an almost manic look on his face.

"But remember, it's not the points that matter, it's the knowledge and experience gained in class," Jenkins said wisely.

"Knowledge and experience we can use to defeat and slaughter the Slytherins!" Phillips said, with a big smile on his face and a faraway look, not noticing the way everyone started looking at him.

"Ignore him, he has some Slytherin issues," Jenkins told us, looking already used to Phillips's fixation on the Slytherins.

"It's not like I'm the only one," Phillips muttered, not daring to say it out loud so as not to piss off Jenkins.

"But back to the subject, 70 points should be a record of points earned in a week, congratulations Mr. Night!" Jenkins congratulated me, and a few other students followed and started to congratulate me too, with Phillips being the most vocal.

"Thanks, but I was just doing what was asked in class, I didn't expect to get so many points" I commented nonchalantly.

'''Didn't expect my ass!''' was the thought that ran through the mind of some of the early years, remembering how I shocked even the teachers with the ease I had of casting spells in class.

And then after a little more chatting soon it was time for dinner, and we all left the common room and headed towards the Great Hall.

________________________________________________________________________

After dinner and some more chatting and games in the common room, I headed to my room, planning on getting a great night's sleep since tomorrow I was going to start exploring Hogwarts.

End.
