-Grimmauld Place-

[POV – Third Person]

"What are you doing Padfoot?" Remus asked his half-dog friend, seeing that he was sitting in his office while looking at some items on his desk.

"Oh, I'm trying to recreate the two-way mirror," Sirius replied, picking up a small cube made of glass, "Well, I said recreate, but really I'm trying to improve and update it."

"Improve and update? What do you mean?" the werewolf asked, approaching him.

And as he approached he saw that on the table there were several objects of different sizes and shapes, and there was a parchment next to it full of notes.

"I mean that I want to make a magical item that is almost the same as a two-way mirror, only more practical and with some additional functions" Sirius explained.

"And why do you want to do this? I've never seen you show interest in this type of magical item before," Remus said with a raised eyebrow.

"Well, this is actually a new project of mine and Ethan, and since he is busy with the Tri-Wizard tournament and I have a better understanding of how the two-way mirror works, I decided that I would be in charge of studying and creating this new magical item" Sirius replied, finishing analyzing the glass cube.

And placing the cube back on the table he began to write something on the parchment.

"I understand that, but what exactly are you trying to create?" Remus asked.

"I'm trying to create a magical communication device that can be used by multiple people, just like that Muggle device... What's the name again?" Sirius made a thoughtful face.

"Telephone?" Remus suggested.

"Oh yeah, that's it" Animagus nodded, before placing his hand on his chin, "But actually Ethan also said that what we're going to create will also be a little different from these telephones... I didn't understand his explanation very well, but just know that it's going to be amazing" he said with a confident and excited look.

"Hmm, I see," Remus said, scratching his chin with a thoughtful look.

'A magical communication device... Why would Ethan want something like that?' he wondered.

And while Remus was thinking about this, Sirius spoke again, breaking him out of his thoughts, "But well, since you're already here, what do you think about helping me?"

"I don't have anything better to do, so okay," Remus shrugged, before pulling out his wand and summoning a chair, sitting across from Sirius, "So, where should I start?" he asked, going into studious mode.

"Well, first we must find a perfect item to be used as the device, and then…" And then the two friends started working together, just like in the old days.

And they didn't know it, but what they were doing would be something of great importance in the future when the blood war breaks out.

-Valentine's Day-

[POV – Ethan]

Today was Tuesday, February 14th, which meant it was also the favorite day of couples and lovers, Valentine's Day.

And many could like this day, but for me it has become a headache since Valentine's Day last year when girls started showing interest in me.

And today was no different... And in fact, I could even say that today was worse than last time, since before the girls just sent me letters and some sweets, but this time they were being more proactive and brave .

If I wasn't being cornered in some hallway by a girl wanting to confess her "love" for me, I was having to deal with the dozens of gifts they gave me.

And speaking of gifts, I was right now heading to the Ravenclaw Common Room while carrying a dozen gifts to keep in my room.

'I don't even know when these girls had time to buy or prepare these gifts' I thought, looking at the gifts in my arms with a frown as I walked into the common room.

"Seriously Ethan, tell me, what's the trick?" and Terry, who had been following me for the last hour, asked me for the nineteenth time, "How do you get so many gifts from these girls?

'I swear if he asks me that again I'm going to make him eat the Gryffindor Quidditch team's dirty socks' I groaned.

"Err... Terry, I think you better let it go" Anthony warned him.

"Huh? Why?" Terry turned to him.

"Because I think your questions are making Ethan angry" the blonde boy said carefully.

"Nonsense," Terry waved his hand dismissively, before turning to me only to see that I was looking at him with eyes that promised pain if he opened his mouth again.

"You know what... I think I'm okay without knowing the answer" he quickly said, looking away.

And seeing this I snorted, looking straight ahead again.

And I had seen the girls sitting around a table, probably studying, but as I wanted to put away these gifts quickly I just nodded at them and went up to my room in the boys' dormitory.

"Sigh... I wish I was popular with girls like that" Terry said, plopping down on the couch.

"Well, maybe if you were born again with a more presentable face..." Anthony said, making Terry look at him with disdain.

"You talk like you're pretty" Terry said.

"But I am" the half-badger boy shrugged.

"Who told you that?" Terry looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

And hearing the question, Anthony raised his hand and began to count, "My mother, my aunt, my grandmother, the lady from the candy store in Diagon Alley when I was 7 years old, the---"

"Man, you're not helping yourself" Terry interrupted, not knowing whether to mock or feel sorry for his friend.

"Huh?" the poor naive boy looked at him confused.

And in that short period of time I had finished putting away all the gifts in my room and was heading downstairs to the common room.

"What were all those gifts Ethan?" Lisa asked me as soon as she saw me.

"Oh, that? They were just some gifts some girls gave me," I said, resisting the urge to grimace.

And I didn't notice the look the girls exchanged between themselves before looking at Luna, who was sitting with them fiddling with something.

The dreamy girl was trying not to show any expression of discomfort upon hearing that I was getting gifts from other girls, but that didn't stop her from glancing at me.

And looking at my frown she knew I wasn't enjoying receiving all these gifts.

And because of that she felt satisfied and happy knowing that these girls' attempts to get my attention weren't working, and at the same time she also felt apprehensive and worried.

And without knowing the blonde girl's thoughts I approached them.

"And you four? What are you doing?" I asked.

"Reading" Sue replied.

"Homework" Padma said without looking up from her parchment.

"Me too" Lisa said.

"I see…" I said, before approaching Luna, "What about you Luna?" I asked, looking over her shoulder.

"Oh, nothing," she replied hastily, not letting me see what she was doing.

"I see…" I said suspiciously.

And I could feel that she was hiding something, but as Luna didn't want to show me what she was doing, I didn't insist anymore, because I knew that everyone had the right to have their own secrets.

*Ring!*

"Hmm, that's the signal for lunch" Anthony commented, before starting to rub his belly, "Well, I was getting hungry anyway"

"Dude, weren't you eating some cookies your mom sent you just now?" Terry asked him.

"Yes, and they were delicious" he licked his lips.

And when Terry saw this he rolled his eyes, "Gluttonous badger" he whispered.

"Hmm, is it lunch time already?" Lisa said as soon as she heard the bell ring, before looking at the clock that was on the wall of the common room above the fireplace.

"Oh, I was so focused on my homework that I didn't even notice the time passing" Padma commented, also looking at the clock.

And after she said that, Padma got up and started putting her materials in her bag, with Lisa doing the same.

Sue also got up to return the book she was reading to the Ravenclaw library, and now that the three girls were getting ready to go to the great hall for lunch I noticed that one of them remained sitting at the table.

"Aren't you coming Luna?" I asked her.

"You can go ahead, I still have something to do" she said with a smile, and I looked at her for a few seconds before nodding.

"Okay" I said.

I then turned to go to Terry and Anthony who were waiting for me in front of the common room passage, but when I turned around I could see a glimpse of Luna taking out some small silver item with a blue glow from her coat pocket.

'Hmm, what is she doing?' I asked myself curiously.

End.
