"So Harry, you said that you and Sirius have tried a lot of things to end your dreams or at least lessen them, right?" I asked, and he nodded.

"Yes, we've tried both Muggle and Wizarding methods, but none of them have helped me," he replied, grimacing, "Actually, after these methods I feel that the frequency and intensity of dreams has increased"

"And when did these dreams start?" I asked again.

"I don't know... I think shortly after the end of our third year," he said, and I paused to reflect.

'Probably around the time Pettigrew was reunited with his master' I thought.

Looking back at Harry I asked him another question, "Have you tried learning Occlumency yet?"

"Sigh, yes" he replied with a tired look, "Sirius tried to teach me this Occlu whatever"

"And?"

"And as I said before, it didn't help with my problem," he said.

And with that answer from him I stopped again.

'Hmm, if he was learning Occlumency from Sirius then he should have at least built some wards in his mind, and that should lessen his connection with Voldemort' I thought a bit confused.

'But why didn't Occlumency help him?' I wondered.

And not knowing the answer to that, I decided to do a little test.

I then looked into Harry's eyes, and using light Legilimency I read his surface thoughts.

And Harry, who didn't know why I was staring at him, felt something in the back of his mind, a nagging feeling that made him frown.

And realizing that I stopped reading his mind, blinking.

"I guess your Occlumency lessons weren't entirely for naught," I said.

"What do you mean?" he asked me.

"Well, it seems that even if you weren't able to create barriers to protect your mind you developed the ability to sense when your mind is being invaded" I replied, looking at him while nodding in satisfaction.

"Wait, so that feeling just now was you invading my mind?" Harry asked surprised, but also a little upset.

"Yes" I replied, "But I only read your superficial thoughts"

"Oh," he said, somewhat relieved.

But then the realization that I read his thoughts finally hit him, causing him to turn to me in surprise.

"Wait! You can read minds?!" he asked.

"Err... Yes?" I said confused by his outburst.

"This is amazing! But how?"

"Well, if there's a branch of magic focused on protecting your mind, obviously there's the opposite" I shrugged, "Actually those two branches are intertwined and work together, and the most powerful spells known to them are Occlumency, which you tried to learn, and Legilimency, which is what I just used"

"Wow, why had I never heard of this?" Harry asked, now becoming interested in this branch of magic that involves the mind.

"One of the reasons must be because you've never been interested in studying magic," I said, and Harry looked down in embarrassment, knowing this to be true.

And seeing that I shook my head with a wry smile, before continuing to speak.

"But another reason you've never heard of Occlumency and Legilimency is because those two magics are very advanced, something even adult wizards have a hard time learning."

"And because of that, teachers don't even talk about these magics, because most of them don't even know about them."

"Then how do you know so much about them?" Harry asked me curiously.

"Because I read a lot of books" I shrugged, "And I'm sure if you ask Hermione she'll know almost everything I know about the mind magics too"

And hearing this Harry stopped to reflect, realizing that this was very likely.

But he then looked back at me, with many questions running through his mind.

"You said it's really hard to learn this Occlumency and Legilimency stuff, right?" he asked me, and I nodded, "If it's so hard then why did you decide to learn them? And how did you do it?"

"Well, I decided to learn Occlumency as soon as I found out about the existence of it and Legilimency" I started to reply, "Knowing that there were magics that could be used to invade my mind didn't sit well with me, and when I found out there was an opposite and powerful magic that served to protect the mind I wasted no time and tried to learn it"

"And besides, the benefits gained from learning Occlumency were too enticing for me to pass up."

"Benefits?"

"Yes" I nodded, "In addition to protecting your mind, Occlumency improves your concentration, your memory, and helps you keep your feelings in check"

"Really?" Harry asked in surprise, before shaking his head, "No, wait. I understand why you learned Occlumency, but why did you also decide to learn Legilimency?"

"The question should be 'why not?'" I asked back, and Harry opened his mouth to reply, but found no reason not to learn such cool magic.

"But remember, learning Legilimency and using it isn't exactly legal in the eyes of the Ministry" I said, "Then don't tell anyone I know it, okay?"

"Okay" Harry nodded, not at all surprised that I was breaking the law.

In fact, he even considered it a minor infraction compared to the other things I'd done.

"But back to the main topic" I said, catching his attention, "You said you couldn't learn Occlumency, but from what I could see you have a talent for this magic, so maybe the problem was the method you used to protect your mind"

"Is there more than one method?" he asked me.

"Yes, and every wizard sees a certain ease in learning depending on the method, and probably the method Sirius tried to teach you wasn't compatible with you"

"And because of that, starting tomorrow I'm going to teach you the other methods for learning Occlumency that I know" I said, looking at him with a look that said he couldn't deny it or run away.

And Harry seemed to understand that, because he just nodded with an accepting sigh.

"Great! So meet me at the library tomorrow after lunch. And remember, once we get started you'll have no way to run away, hehehe" II said, laughing evilly as I glared at him with a look that wouldn't look out of place on a maniac's face.

And seeing this, Harry sighed again.

'Well, at least I can put an end to these weird dreams of mine' he thought, trying to think on the bright side.

-Gryffindor Common Room-

[POV – Third Person]

After his illuminating conversation with Ethan, Harry returned to his friends, who were waiting for him.

They then noticed that Harry had a thoughtful look on his face and decided not to interrupt his thoughts, and together they walked back to their common room.

After arriving in the Gryffindor common room the three sat down on the sofa, with Hermione grabbing a book to read while Ron continued reading his Quidditch magazine.

And after a few minutes Harry seemed to snap out of his reflective moment, as he turned to his bushy haired friend.

"Hermione, do you know what Occlumency is?" Harry asked her, causing her to look up from her book.

"Huh? Yeah, I know," she replied, before looking curiously at her friend, "But why the question?"

"It's just that Ethan is going to teach me Occlumency starting tomorrow" he replied.

"But didn't Sirius already try to teach you this Occlumentia or whatever the name is?" Ron asked.

"Yes, but Ethan said that Sirius' method probably wasn't compatible with me, and that's why he was going to teach me others."

"Wait one moment!" Hermione exclaimed, drawing attention to her, "Does Ethan know Occlumency?!"

"Huh? Yeah…" Harry answered uncertainly, "And he practices it too."

"But how? Occlumency is very difficult to learn" she said.

"He told me that too" Harry nodded, "And how did he learn it? Well, maybe he just found a method that suited him, I don't know" he shrugged.

And with that answer Hermione frowned, biting her lip in thought.

And after a few seconds she turned to Harry, looking a bit nervous.

"Do you think Ethan would be willing to teach me Occlumency too?" she asked with some expectation in her voice.

"I don't know, but I think he wouldn't have a problem with that" Harry after some thought.

"You think?" Hermione asked hopefully.

"Yes, and between us, I think he likes to teach others" he replied.

"Great! I can't wait for these classes!" she said excitedly, and seeing this Harry smiled slightly.

And Ron who saw that smile looked between his black haired friend and his studious friend, rubbing his chin in reflection with a knowing look.

End.
