Hey ya! Here's the new chapter!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the second week of June, the week before the end of the school year, the results of the exams were posted on the bulletin board in the Great Hall.

The results were separated by year and subject, which showed who was the best one-year student in a certain subject, and in addition there was also the general ranking, which showed the best one-year students.

I wasn't surprised to see that my name was number one in all but History of Magic, which was taken by Granger.

I actually expected me to be second in Herbology, as I knew Nev understood Herbology better than I did, but his withdrawn and shy personality kept him from getting involved in class, which probably happened in the practical exam as well.

But at least in my heart I knew that Nev deserved first place, and probably everyone who knows him knows that too.

I was also happy to see that I got O+ in every subjects in which I ranked first, except for DADA, which I didn't even try.

And as for the overall standings, I was obviously in first, with Granger close behind in second, and surprisingly Terry in third.

And I don't think any of my colleagues expected Terry to be in third, as we all looked at him in surprise.

"What? I've always been smart," Terry said, shrugging, before looking at Anthony smugly.

Anthony then frowned at Terry before looking up his name in the rankings, finding him in 13th place.

"Meh, I was hoping to be in the top 30, but the top 15 is even better," he said smugly, ignoring Terry's cough that sounded like 'ten down'.

As I know that you are probably also curious about the rest of the ranking, I will show you the top 15.

1° Ethan Night

2° Hermione Granger

3° Terry Boot

4° Susan Bones

5° Padma Patil

6° Daphne Greengrass

7° Lisa Turpin

8° Draco Malfoy

9° Sue Li

10° Sally-Anne Perks

11° Fay Dunbar

12° Blaise Zabini

13° Anthony Goldstein

14° Theodore Nott

15° Ernest Macmillan

If we analyze the classification well, we can see that Ravenclaw was the house that stood out the most, followed by Slytherin. But I think that's to be expected from the two houses that put in more mental effort than the other two.

"Oh, Ethan is in first place, very unexpected!" Anthony commented, obviously unimpressed.

"I know I'm amazing," I told him, fixing my hair dramatically, making the boys roll their eyes.

"Ow, I'm not even in the top 15" I heard a voice beside me say, and turning around I saw Lily looking annoyed at the leaderboard. She then looked at the top of the table.

"Oh! Look Ethan! You are first! Amazing" she said grabbing my arm and jumping happily.

"Yes, I'm amazing, aren't I?" I asked with a happy smile on my face, which grew even wider when Lily nodded her head cutely.

"What the power of cuteness doesn't do," Anthony muttered, with Terry and Stephen beside him nodding.

[POV - Third Person]

"We did it!" Weasley celebrated, sharing a Hi-Five with Potter.

"Yeah, I can't even believe it... Even in Potions my grade wasn't too bad!" Potter said impressed. He then turned to his other friend with a smile, "I guess I have you to thank for that Hermione"

"Yeah, without you I think we'd be lost" Weasley added, also turning to Granger, only to see her looking at the general classification with a frown.

The boys then followed her gaze to the board and saw why she was upset.

""Oh"" eles disseram.

They then looked at each other and then again turned to Granger.

"Err... Well... Congratulations! You got second place!" Weasley said, getting a look from Potter that said 'Really?'

"Yes, thanks," Granger said, but it was possible to tell from her tone that she didn't mean it.

'He's also a muggleborn like me, so why does he have to be so much better at everything he does?' Granger asked herself, looking down with a frown. She then sighed and lifted her head, only to find Potter and Weasley looking at her worriedly, which brought a small smile to her face.

'Meh, who cares if he did better than me this year? Next year I'll definitely get over him!' she promised in her heart.

"Hermione? Are you okay?" Weasley asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Granger replied, a gleeful smile on her face.

"Phew! Good thing... For a moment I thought you were sad to see that Night surpassed you in everything, even though you put in hours and hours in your studies, while he played Quidditch and still had time to have fun and..." and the more Weasley talked, the more Granger's face darkened, to the point where Potter, who was seeing everything, began to wonder if he should look for a new best friend.

"Ron!" Potter called, trying to warn his friend.

"...There's also the fact that the professors seem to love him, except Snape obviously, but even Professor McGonagall likes him, and my brothers have told me about how difficult it is for her..."

"RON!"

"What?" Weasley asked confused, only to see Potter pointing at Granger who was glaring at him.

"..."

"..."

"Err... Are you still the smartest girl in our year?" Weasley said in a questioning tone. But unfortunately for him Granger started pulling his wand out of his pocket.

"Sorry" Weasley squeaked.

-Hogwarts Express – Coming home-

The last week at school went by quickly, and the only interesting thing that happened was the teachers giving us homework for us to turn in for the next school year.

After packing our bags, my colleagues and I headed to the station in Hogsmead, where we caught the Hogwarts Express that would take us home.

After settling into a compartment, we started talking about what we were going to do on our vacation, and when we were done we started playing some muggle games which were the ones Stephen had given me for Christmas and which I had brought in my suitcase.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[POV - Third Person]

-In another compartment with the Golden Trio-

"Hermione, I never asked you, but what were you doing in the second floor girls' bathroom? I remember seeing you running to the first floor bathroom" Weasley asked curiously.

"Well, I was in the first floor bathroom, only it was busy and the girls went there to gossip, and it was always about the same person," she replied, sulking at the memory.

Weasley and Potter then looked at each other in confusion before turning to Granger.

""What person?""

"...Ethan Night" Granger muttered irritably.

"It was always the girls talking about how perfect he is. A smart, handsome, athletic, and friendly boy. At one point I got tired of hearing these same things all the time, so I decided to go to the second floor bathroom which is unused. and empty," she said, crossing her arms and frowning.

Potter and Weasley then looked at each other again, before turning to Granger.

"Err... Hermione... are you maybe jealous of Night?" Weasley asked, not noticing how Potter frantically shook his head at him.

Granger, who was still lost in her thoughts, stood up suddenly, before slowly starting to turn around to look at Weasley, who began to realize her mistake.

"Sorry," he squeaked, curling up in his seat, but he's already awakened the beast, and nothing can stop it.

'I hope you find a quiet place full of food for yourself in the heaven, my friend. Amen' prayed Potter, who had his hands clasped in a prayer, trying to ignore your friend's painful cries for help.

After Granger finished punish... I mean, educating Weasley, everyone went back to their seats, with an unmade deal not to talk about Night around Granger.

"Ahem... Back to the point, I'm glad we heard from Parvati that you were in the upstairs bathroom, or I don't even want to imagine what could have happened if we'd gone to the wrong bathroom," Potter commented, frowning and getting sick just thinking about it. And the person who felt the most sick at the thought of it was Granger herself, who shivered in fear at the thought of a Troll attacking her with no way to defend herself or run away.

"Err... Well, everything ends well when it ends well, right?" Weasley commented, earning a nod from the other two.

"But I'm still sad that we didn't win the Quidditch Cup or the House Cup," Potter commented with his head down.

"Yes" Weasley said, "But look on the bright side, at least it wasn't Slytherin that won" he said in an attempt to lighten the mood.

"True" Potter agreed with a smile. He then started laughing, "And did you see Malfoy's face when Gryffindor passed Slytherin at the house points? Hahahaha"

"Yes, and it was hilarious! Hahahah" here Weasley and Potter started laughing, and even Granger started to giggle.

End.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(End AN: This week I was kind of down and sad, nothing too serious, it was just one of those moments where you just want to sit in a quiet place and think about life, hehe.

The good thing was that this weekend I spent time with my friends and family, and it was invigorating.

What do you do when you're having a bad day or just not feeling well?)
