Savage: The Night Wizard - (A Harry Potter Fanfic)

I was an ordinary boy with a simple life... That is, until the day I died... and now I don't even know what is common in my life anymore! But in reality... I prefer it like this. Who would like to be normal if you could be a wizard? Especially if you're the greatest wizard ever! Well... -Saturday-

Today will be the day the trio will take Azula to Charlie's friends in the astronomy tower, and it's also the day I'll try to see the Cloak of Invisibility.

Weasley, unlike canon, wasn't bitten by Azula, so he didn't go to the hospital wing, so Malfoy won't be able to get the book with Charlie's note on it.

Without the note, Malfoy will have no way of knowing that the trio will try to smuggle the dragon, so he won't report them to Professor McGonagall. Without the teacher, the trio won't get caught, and without them getting caught they won't lose points, and I can't allow that to happen.

I know earlier this year I said I didn't care about house points, but it seems that the competition between houses and the favoritism of certain professors *cough* Snape and Dumbledore *cough* made me a little competitive. And to tell you the truth, I'm not finding this competition as bad as at the beginning of the year... Well, at least for me, who only sees the competition as another way to have fun.

But back to the subject of the note, to solve this problem, I had the note "slip away" from Weasley's book and "coincidentally" land next to Malfoy, and from Malfoy's smug face, I think he liked what he read in the note.

I also had the trio see Malfoy taking the note and reading it, just to increase the pressure on them a little, which just so happens to be what made them forget about cloak in canon.

With everything ready and planned, I just had to wait for night to come.

________________________________________________________________________________________

When it was 11 pm, I came out of my room wearing some dark clothes. There was no one in the common room, but I knew that from time to time the prefects would patrol, so I quickly cast the Disillusionment Charm on myself, which luckily I learned to cast.

I then left the common room and started towards the astronomy tower. As I walked, I used my Magic Vision to make sure no one was around, and arriving at the tower I started to inspect more intently, and I took this precaution because I knew Potter was going to lose the Cloak of Invisibility in the tower, and that Dumbledore would return the cloak to him the night of his detention in the Forbidden Forest, and as I don't know if he was around to get the cloak, I decided to proceed cautiously.

After inspecting it a bit I confirmed that the tower was clear of any sign of anyone else being here, or of any spells or wards. And knowing half my worries were over, I went back to relaxing in a corner of the tower, waiting for the trio to appear.

After waiting for a while, just before midnight, I heard footsteps approaching the tower.

I knew it was the trio from under the cloak arriving with Azula, and I could have used my Magic Vision on the cloak at that moment, but I didn't know if I would have any setbacks from looking at an item that was once so close to death, so I decided to wait.

As the sounds of footsteps reached the center of the tower, I saw the cloak drop and two members of the trio were shown, with one of them holding a box.

The trio members who came were Weasley and Potter, with Weasley replacing Granger, something that didn't surprise me, as I knew that with that big box containing Azula, only two other people would fit in the cloak. And I also wasn't surprised that Weasley was the other person besides Potter, as he really would have been the better option.

After the boys arrived, soon after, in the distance, some people appeared flying on brooms.

After Charlie's friends had had a little chat with Weasley and Potter, they started getting ready to take Azula away. And before they left, I conveyed some feelings of mine to Azula, who was surprised initially, before starting to convey her feelings of joy back, something that surprised me as I didn't know she knew or could convey feelings too.

'It seems like I don't really understand completely how the feelings and a connection with a dragon works' I thought with a wry smile.

After Charlie's friends took Azula away, the two boys in the trio sighed in relief and happiness, and while they were celebrating their successful mission I was paying attention to two things, one being the cloak on the floor, and the other being Filch who was approaching the stairs leading to the tower.

The boys then started heading towards the stairs to get out of the tower, not having the slightest idea of the terror that awaited them.

Leaving the boys to fate, I turned my gaze to the cloak. I waited until the boys and Filch were far enough away to inspect the cloak, and when I felt they were far enough away I turned on my Magic Vision to look at the cloak.

When my gaze, with Magic Vision, fell on the cloak, I immediately stumbled back.

'Damn... The magic of this cloak is very concentrated... and this magic is too pure... Not even a thestral that borders on life and death gives me the same feeling that this cloak is giving me' I thought, holding my head and lowering the power of my Magic Vision, 'Urg... But I shouldn't have expected less from an item that was supposedly made by Death itself'

Knowing now that it would be unwise to use my Magic Vision at full power in the cloak, I decided to lower its potency a bit. Now using only a little of my vision, I looked back at the cloak, taking in every detail of it but being careful not to overdo it.

The first thing I noticed is that the cloak does indeed have some residue of the Headmaster's magic, so this confirms the tracking spells theory. The second thing I noticed is that the cloak has a magic overlapping with its own, and that's Potter's magic

'It's probably because Potter owns the cloak, and I think it's probably the same with the Elder Wand and Headmaster Dumbledore' I thought.

Returning my gaze to the cloak, I then saw the third most interesting thing, which is also the most noticeable. What I saw was a dark and pure magic, and if this magic is what i was thinking, then this is one of the most mysterious types of magic in the magic world, the death magic, and unlike other enchanted items that are enveloped by the creator's magic, the cloak is literally made from the magic of who created it.

In all my time in the wizarding world so far, I haven't found any item that is literally and purely made of magic, especially magic as special and remarkable as that of the cloak.

And as I inspected the cover in detail, I felt a feeling of emptiness, as if something was pulling at me. But before I could delve into that feeling, I heard something calling to me from somewhere in the back of my mind, which was enough to snap me out of my stupor.

After shaking my head, I looked back at the cloak, only without trying to delve deeper, and after a while I realized that the feeling that hit me was almost the same feeling I felt when I looked into the core of a Thestral for the first time.

Careful not to fall into the same sensation, I went back to taking in every detail of the cloak, sometimes taking a mental note whenever I found something interesting or something I didn't know about.

In the end, I couldn't find out much about the workings of the cloak, and not because it's difficult, but because I don't have, and probably never will, a clear understanding of the magic surrounding it.

Perhaps if this cloak of invisibility was one of the cloaks sold in the wizarding world, and not one of the Deathly Hallows, I would have better understood its workings, to the point where I could replicate it.

'Hmm, this could become one of my future projects... Or I could create a spell as good as a cloak of invisibility and the Disillusionment Charm' I mused.

Realizing that there was nothing else for me to look at in the cloak, at least not without being in a more private and secure place, I decided it was time to end my little adventure for tonight.

The last thing I did was see if I could tag the cloak in ATLAS so I could find her whenever I wanted. And after a few tries I managed to put a tracking spell using the cloak's own magic, so no one will know it has a tracking spell on it, and if they find out, they won't be able to connect it to my magic.

With everything ready I was finally able to finish this little project. I then, with nothing else to do, went back to my common room. Arriving at the common room, I went straight to my room, taking advantage of the fact that there was no prefects doing rounds.

Once in my room, I lay down on my bed, thinking about the adventure I had tonight that left me with more questions than answers. However, knowing that this world still has so many mysteries out there just made me even more excited.

'Truly a magical world...' I thought with a soft smile on my face.

End.

(End AN: My family, more specifically my mother, decided to adopt a puppy on Monday.

Her name is Luna, and no, I didn't give her the name and her name isn't that because of Luna from Harry Potter.

It was my sister who decided to name her, and she hates Harry Potter and obviously doesn't know the name of any characters other than Harry Potter, Lol.

Luna is only 2 months old, and she is very cute.

I don't know how to feel about having another dog in the family, as my family had two dogs before, and one of them was mine.

Amora and Nina were their names. Nina has been in the family since I was 1 year old, so she basically grew up with me. Amora was a dog that my friend and I found on the street when we were coming home from school, and I decided to take her home.

They died, but they are still part of the family and I miss them greatly. I didn't want to have another pet because I know I would get attached to him, and I know they will die before me, and I don't want to feel that, but since Luna is already here, I'll take care of her the same way I took care of Nina and Amora.

That was a little rant of mine, hehe.

Hope you enjoyed the chapters!)
