Savage: The Night Wizard - (A Harry Potter Fanfic)

I was an ordinary boy with a simple life... That is, until the day I died... and now I don't even know what is common in my life anymore! But in reality... I prefer it like this. Who would like to be normal if you could be a wizard? Especially if you're the greatest wizard ever! Well... I don't. ****************************************** Also help me in Patrë-on /Se7enX, there are advanced chapters for you and it motivates me to write even more. "Who are the idiots who believe this nonsense?" I wondered after reading an excerpt from one of Lockhart's books in which he claimed to have fought a werewolf with his bare hands, before using a spell to force him back to being a human.

I was in the library when, oddly enough, I found a shelf full of Lockhart's books. And I, like a curious young man, decided to read it, just to see if the books are as extravagant and exaggerated as the titles suggest.

And after taking a look at a few pages of three of his books, I realized that Lockhart's narcissism and arrogance in books and movies doesn't do justice to what appears to be his real personality.

'Seriously, who claims to be Britain's most powerful future wizard, while calling himself noble, brave, smart, and charming?' I questioned myself, pushing the book away in disgust, 'But at least I have to praise Lockhart's stony face for being able to say something like that, and not feeling embarrassed... And also for managing to fool a lot of housewives witches and girls hormonal'

'And to think that next year I'll have to put up with him at school... Would killing him interfere with events? Or maybe just a little kidnapping?' I started to reflect.

I would continue with my thoughts, but the noise of books hitting wood caught my attention. And looking at the source of the sound, I saw the golden trio placing books after books on a table.

Knowing they were looking for Flamel, and that at some point they would find him, I left them to their thing and went back to my book.

"He's not a Quidditch player, because if he were, I would know," I hear Weasley whisper, even though they're a few tables away.

"And he's not, or was, a Hogwarts professor either," Granger said, also whispering.

"Of so many wizards there are, how are we going to find him by name alone?" Potter said, putting down one of the books that was in his hand.

"But for him to meet the Headmaster, and be able to ask a favor from him, he must be someone important," Granger said.

"If he's that important, why haven't we found out about him yet?" Weasley questioned, getting a marrying sigh from Granger.

"I don't know..." she replied.

Listening to the conversation they were having, I glanced at them, and saw the large piles of books they had piled up on their desk.

'Quick and easy way to find someone' I thought sarcastically, 'If you didn't want to ask Madame Pince about Flamel, why didn't you at least ask some older student?'

'Sigh, if it wasn't for a card in a Chocolate Frog they would never have found out who Flamel is' and at that point, I started to realize how lucky they are... Well, lucky or a trio with a great plot armor.

Before I could question the golden trio's luck and protagonism, I heard them start whispering again.

"How about we try to get more clues from Hagrid?" Weasley proposed. And I have to say, this is a good proposition, especially coming from someone like Weasley.

"I don't think he's going to talk to us about it. He's been more cautious with us after we got the Flamel name from him." Granger was quick to point out the flaws, obviously forgetting how naive the half-giant could be.

"And then? Do we give up?" Weasley asked, frowning.

"Well, we could ask Madam Pince about the—" Granger began but was cut off by Potter.

"Wait! We can't talk to her. She might end up telling the Headmaster we're snooping around," he said.

"Sigh, so our only option is to keep looking through the books we have here," Granger said. And Weasley and Potter then looked around, at the hundreds of shelves with thousands of books, and sighed in defeat.

"I think so…" Potter said, sitting up with a huff and taking one of the books from the pile to to read a little.

Weasley then started looking at the stack of books apprehensively, before running his eyes around the library, until I felt his gaze fall on me.

"Hey, isn't that the boy who helped us in the bathroom against the troll?" Weasley asked in a whisper, moving closer to the other two, and a moment later I felt the trio's gaze fall on me.

'Why did I have to be noticed?' I wondered wearily, 'If I stand still too long, maybe they won't even notice me...' I thought, as I controlled my breathing, trying to blend in with the surroundings.

"Oh yes, it's him" Potter replied.

'Damn it'

"His name is Ethan Night, and he's a Ravenclaw of our year" Granger said, pointing out that at least one of the group paid attention to the Sorting ceremony...or Transfiguration classes...or...You know what? How come they don't know who their classmate is? I haven't particularly tried to keep a low profile, so how come they only know me as the boy who 'helped' them with the troll? They at least should have memorized my name.

'Now I understand why they don't have many friends outside of Gryffindor' I thought, annoyed.

And you might even be confused that I'm upset about it, but after everything I've done at Hogwarts so far, being remembered as the boy who helped them with the troll isn't very cool.

"Oh, and he's also one of Ravenclaw's chasers," Weasley said, pointing out that his brain works if food and Quidditch are involved, "And I also hear he's pretty smart," he commented belatedly.

"Yes, Professor McGonagall keeps praising him in class" Potter said.

"If even Professor McGonagall praises him, then he must really be very smart…" Weasley said, and I immediately had a bad premonition, "Since he's so smart, why don't we ask him about Flamel?"

"But shouldn't we keep the fact that we're looking for Flamel a secret?" Potter asked.

"We have to keep it a secret from the teachers and the Headmaster" Granger commented, "And besides, he doesn't need to know why we're looking for Flamel" she finished, getting a nod from the boys.

'If that's the case, then why don't you go ask some older student?!'

"Well then, let's talk to him then," Weasley said, getting up from his place at the table and walking towards me, with the other two members of the trio following.

'I should have stayed in my room reading' I mentally sighed.

Now, I had many options, with them being me ignoring them or saying I don't know Flamel, and thus not interfering with events, or helping them, so I can get involved when necessary without needing to explain.

They'll find out who Flamel is after Christmas break, so that's more than a week away. But what would be different if they found out sooner?

As the trio approached me, my mind started to work at great speed to find a way to resolve my dilemma, which is whether or not to help them.

I always knew that I would have to interact with the trio sooner or later, as it would be very foolish of me to keep my distance from the main characters, so I don't see much of a problem helping them, that is, not counting the fact that I don't know what change would happen in future events.

'Wait... Didn't I say before that I wouldn't care much for the canon? Why am I still in doubt?' I questioned myself. And realizing that my fear of changing the canon and losing my future knowledge was gone, I relaxed, and then waited for the trio to speak to me.

End.

(End AN: Hey my wonderful readers! (Gotta think of new ways to call y'all)

Last week here where I live there were many new cases of Covid, and my father and brother-in-law were some of those who caught the virus. On Sunday I also got sick, but luckily I got better, even though I suspected Covid too (And no, it wasn't Covid), but because I was sick in those days I couldn't post or write anything, so forgive me for the delay.

But be happy, here are the chapters!)
