Ch. 67 The Ceremony

-Falco-

We talked on and on about how we've been the past months when Gabi began gloating about how she 'single handedly' won us the war

"Did it really go that way?" Reiner asks

"Sure did." Gabi lies

"Only she forgot the part where it was my entire idea" I sigh "and the part where I saved your life"

"You saved my little Gabi?" Her mother caresses her hair

"Three times" I add

"What?! No you didn't!" Gabi slams her hands on the table

"The first time was when I helped her out of the trenches before it was bombed. Second was when a soldier was choking her out" I hold my hand out "I was in the midst of fighting three guys larger than Reiner" I exaggerate "even so I managed to take one down as I knocked the second one off me, I got the third into a armlock, I then saw my chance and took it" I point a finger at Reiner as if it were a gun "I shot his brains all over the wall, saving Gabis life." I say as I simultaneously pull the trigger of my imaginary gun "she was so grateful you should've seen her, she was like, 'oh Falco I owe you my life'!"

"I did not say that!" She growls

"Anyways," I hold my finger up telling her to give me a second

"It's where we found two carts holding four boxes of explosives, of course I took one to the railway but your daughter here had the bright idea of stacking the second cart with 4 more boxes of ammunition and tossed it right in with the explosives I had just set"

"Oh my" her mom gasps "what then?"

"Well as I thought it would, the armored train got blown sky high only the explosion was too great, cause of a certain someone" I look at Gabi "we weren't going to make it back to the trenches so I tackled Gabi into a crater and we watched as the wave of fire blew right over our heads" I add

"Oh wow how wonderful" her mom claps

"Ah yes that's the story I've heard" Reiner smiles

"Hmph whatever" Gabi pouts

"So does that mean Falco is going to inherit your Titan?" Gabis mom asks Reiner

"At the moment, yes. He may very well inherent my titan by this time next year" he smiles

"What?!" Gabi slams her hands on the table "no way I can easily beat his ass!" She gets in my face

"That was three years ago" I sigh "look, think about it this way. If I inherit the power instead of you, you'll get to live a nice long happy life" I smile

"Bullshit!" She growls

"Well if you two get married before the time arrives, both our families will be honorary Marleyans" Gabis mom says

"What?!" Both Gabi and I shout

"Shut up mom" Gabi blushes "you're crazy if you think he'll ever be able to pull this" she flicks her hair

"Your crazy if you think anyone will ever want to pull that" I grumble

"Shut up!"

"Don't worry, Gabi. I'll talk to his father and get you two paired up before it's too late" her mom winks

"What?! J-just shut up!" Gabi tries hiding the embarrassment on her face

"We'll see at the ceremony" her mom giggles

"Ceremony?" I ask, wondering what that was

"Oh… well I planned on inviting you and your family to the ceremony later today" Reiner says

"What's this ceremony for?" Colt asks

"After our great win we are holding a ceremony of course" Reiner says

"Why weren't we told sooner?" I ask

"Oh… well" Reiner thinks

"Because it's really a secret meeting," Gabi says "all the leaders of the world will attend to finally plan how we're going to take down that island of devils" she giggles

"Gabi!" Her mom shouts "you aren't supposed to go and tell everyone"

"It's alright" Reiner says

"Wait, I thought we had a peace treaty with Paradis" I say

"Indeed we do, but the whole world agrees that we're all in danger with the founding Titan in their hands" Reiner says

"Right…" Colt says

We look at each other, both thinking the exact same thing…

We have to tell father

"Of course you two are welcome to join us if you'd like" Reiner says

"Huh? Oh… well we have to check in with our parents first" Colt says

"Really? Why? Both of you are already adults" Pieck says as he stands up

"Heh well you know my mother, that's not how things work at our house"

"Yes of course you have wonderful parents" Gabis mom smiles

"Thanks for the dinner." We bid them all our farewells before heading home

"Wait, Colt. ake me home" Pieck fidgets with her dress

"What?" He looks at me

I give him a little nod

"Oh all right" he sighs

"Alright see you later, Colt."

He nods "later kid" he waves

"Bye now tell your parents your future mother in law said hi!" Gabis mom shouts

"Shut up!" Gabi shouts from inside

"Yeah, bye now." I wave

This is bad

Every single leader inside this Continent is going to meet up in the same exact spot

What the hell are they thinking? How the hell did Eren find out before we did?

Reiner and everyone is going

All I have to worry about is informing dad

I was opening my door when I heard someone panting behind me

"Gabi?" I raise an eyebrow

"Sh-shut it" she huffs "here you forgot this" she hands me a coat

"This?" I examine it "is not mine" I say

"What? your mom sent you?"

"You know how she is" she blushes

"C'mon, maybe I can get you something to drink?"

"Sure I guess I could have a drink" she looks away

I open the door and notice Colts straw hat was gone along with dads cloak and his Katana

I let Gabi in and she helps herself onto the couch as I went to the fridge for some drinks

Only I notice a note sitting at the table

It read: stay here we'll be back for the both of you

And that's all it said

Stay here… hell is going to rain down on Marley.

A Battle of Titans…

"You okay?" Gabi asks as I pop the beers open

"Yeah…" Can I get her to stay?

"So why'd you really want to become a warrior?" She asks

"What? Oh.. well you know that becoming a honorary Marleyan sounds pretty sick to me"

"You want to know the real reason I chose to become a warrior?" I lean into her ear

Her body trembles in my arms

"What? Is that what you wanted to hear?"

"Gabi.. I want you to grow old.. enjoy life with your family.." I set my lips on her neck

"I want to watch you play with our kids only worrying for their future, not your own" I slide a hand up her shirt
