Chapter 85: RWBY: Grimm Eclipse (4)

Chapter 85: RWBY: Grimm Eclipse (4)

~Ruby POV~

"Ahh! Yang!"

Flailing around my arms trying to escape from my older sister's grasp I'm trying to sneak away from home hoping to get out before she stopped me grabbing me by the waist, "Nope. Sorry, Ruby but we need the time to help you out, especially with how Ozpin spoke about your Silver Eyes."

Stopping and begrudgingly to Yang's attempts I sigh accepting this while I replied back, "Sigh. Right… Ozpin did tell us about it when we fought the Nightmare."

Yang nodded at this as I still recall the events of Ozpin talking to us as a team a few weeks back…

/////

~Ruby Flashback POV~

*Ding*

Hearing the door opening up revealing Ozpin in his very cool-looking office we all entered while he sips into his mug greeting us, "Hmm…? Why hello their Team RWBY to what do I owe the pleasure of this meeting today?"

Glancing my head towards Yang and Blake as they both nodded their heads my older sis was the first to talk to us, "Yes Headmaster Ozpin. We were wondering if you knew what happened or the phenomena that happened in the dream world?"

Tilting his head in confusion taking a sip of his mug Blake began to clarify it more clearly getting straight to the point, "Headmaster sir, do you happen to know if the Silver Eyes of our team leader have more abilities to deal with Grimm?"

At this, he stopped.

Huh?

Very weird.

Next, he began to immediately agree to it leaving me a bit surprised even for me by his response, "Hmm…? Why yes, I do happen to know. Let me take a guess. You and Yang happen to see a silver flash of blinding light as the Nightmare screamed in pain correct?"

Their eyes widen at that seems like Ozpin got it dead on.

So, when we first met, he mentions about something about my eyes first being Silver…

Did he know, since the very beginning?

My eyes widen in surprise but what we heard next came harsh and deadly serious in his voice which made all of us flinch, "What you all saw in the Dream World of Weiss? From this point forward you are not allowed to mention it to others or else you all would face drastic charges for it. This is classified High-Level secret only trust those you can trust with this info... BUT! I must be warned ahead of time of who knows."

"What!"

We all collectively reacted to this with surprise!

Before we could ask for more questions he began to warn us not because of the charges but for our own safety with Ozpin finally explaining to us calming his voice, "Don't take this the wrong way students. But as far as you know people with Silver Eyes are a rarity for the Headmasters and even more so become pillars working for humanity."

Yang was the first of us to quickly reply with her eyes a bit turning red demanding an explanation about this, "What! Wait! Wait there...! Whew… sorry Headmaster, but why the extra security about people with Silver Eyes? And why can't we explain it to others if it's that rare – "

"Because they become hunted."

Huh?

My heart dropped a bit hearing Blake's words as they escaped her mouth seemingly realizing the answer and only confirming it with Ozpin supporting Blakes's words, "Of course miss Belladonna. Humans and Faunus with Silver Eyes are hunted by a group of people because they naturally bring Grimm towards them as the Grimm seems to have a deep hate for people with Silver Eyes. Although most of this is superstition the problems still lie that there are those who want to snuff them out because of those that believe in superstitions."

Gulp.

Gulping loud enough to be audible hearing about this I didn't know that my eyes were that special but that still doesn't explain the powers though.

Asking the Headmaster about this question as I was still confused about the powers of the Silver Eyes, "Uh… Headmaster Ozpin? That still doesn't explain to us how or why my Silver Eyes reacted that way according to Yang and Blake's words…"

Sighing his breath out loud he then began to explain to us the importance of Silver Eyed Warriors…

/////

~Ruby Flashback End POV~

The reason why the silver eyes people are hunted is because of our natural gifts to be able to kill Grimm easily with our own eyes.

Silver-Eyed Warriors are an ancient lineage of legendary warriors who possess special abilities through the usage of their eyes.

Silver-Eyed Warriors are a lineage group whose origins predate the establishment of both Huntsmen and Kingdoms.

According to legend, those born with silver eyes are said to be destined to lead the life of a warrior.

Silver eyes themselves are an extremely rare trait in the modern world. Headmasters even suspect that the reason for this rarity is that someone is actively hunting them to… gulp… extinction.

With most of the information on the Silver-Eyes largely rooted in myths and legends, true accounts or knowledge of their powers are rather difficult to find even with the Headmaster Ozpin's resources he said.

The most consistent traits among these stories are that the eyes themselves are special and the people who possess them are fighters of unprecedented prowess…

Frowning at this feeling of sadness Yang managed to notice my expression. I felt an arm around my shoulders with Yang asking in concern, "Ruby…? Come on. You can talk to me I know when you feel sad so tell your big sis ok?"

Glancing at Yang and knowing of this info about the Silver-Eyed Warriors with a new thought that entered my mind, "Yang…? Did… did Mom ever know about this? Or dad? Was mom really gone because –"

*Woosh*

Feeling a tight hug from Yang and petting on my head while tears began to swell up inside my own eyes…

I didn't get to finish that question I merely hug back not wanting to hear the question…

Mom…

What really happened to you…?

/////

~Jack POV~

"Woof!"

Petting Koro as he was enjoying the affection, I have to say he made really good work in the progress of making our way to Mt. Glenn through the underground train pathway.

Little <Petal Burst> here and <Telekinesis> digging our way against the ground then bam!

Instant homemade underground base with me lightning up the fire keeping us warm smoking some meat and some dog food for Koro petting his fur, "I wonder how my team is going to react to someone like you Koro? I think Nora would be happy about it. Ren perhaps not much Pyrrha… well I think she likes dogs?"

*Whimper*

Whimpering close to me for warmth I began to look at each other status seeing the level-ups and close encounter with the Grimm as I smiled seeing this.

Although I could use my stats a bit more carefully as well as take care of my own stats.

Good dog.

Already fighting for our lives and I trust this dog with my life, especially with how easy it is with Razor Edge on hand and equipping the Arc's Ring making Grimm fights really easy and grinding them.

Shame I can't use this around Vale.

I remembered it said it radiated off magic with no doubt Ozpin would want this weapon and ring.

So, I'm stuck with my Destiny Wards and Red Riot in the meantime while in Vale City. However, since I'm far away from Vale I'm safe for now.

Skill List.

----

<Metal Skin> (Active) Lv.1/100 Exp: 0.4%

AP Cost: 10 AP

Duration: 1 Min.

Description: This skill allows the user to turn their own skin into metal, preventing blunt and cut trauma from taking severe effects on their body. However, the Semblance appeared to have a weakness in heat-based attacks.

----

At least this works well with <Polarity> effectively increasing my damage output with these two together. With <Polarity> boosting my <Metal Skin> along with my combat skills this makes those two a tough combo to beat.

Also, add the fact I can use my dead skin cells as very small throwing knives boosted by my <Polarity> and <Aura Amp> to deadly levels. Still need to work on my throwing though but that's not the best part though.

With those two I can fly by turning into a metal human and using <Polarity> to fly with ease easier than using <Telekinesis> on myself anyway but more costly.

*Brrr*

Keeping the fire on cooking our food I began to take it out to check if it was ready while Koro sniffs at it with his droopy look on his face, "Hmm… seems like it's ready. Your hungry boy?"

"Woof!"

Taking his barking as a yes I began to place his food on the bowl as Koro slowly sniffs it while I began to eat taking careful steps and chewing it since it is a freshly hot hotdog. He really seems to like it.

*Chomp*

"Ah! Hot!"

Yelling out at eating freshly hotdogs down I began to blow it down hoping to cool it down while we both keep watching for any Underground-based Grimm. But for now, we rest before we continue onward to Merlot Industry Building.

There I'll find the key and possibly coordinates where Dr. Merlot was last seen or fled to his private home. Here's hoping for the best, and if not, then at least I can get some gear from there since it was abandoned.

With my <Technopathy> I can fix it at least the trip won't be for waste at least.
