Chapter 107: RWBY/Justice League (8)

~Third POV~

Ruby and Bruce both looked around the Faunus Quarters of Vale as they saw the stone and wooden homes all around the area with shopping stands all around the place selling all kinds of items fruits, carpets, or clothing.

Bruce glance around while pointing out Clark's reaction to Weiss in a curious tone, "Clark seemed awfully put off by Weiss's presence, did you notice?"

Ruby noticing what Bruce meant about Clark and his past relating Weiss family connects the dots and replies to Bruce deflecting his concerns for Clark, "Oh! Well, Weiss is very accomplished and talented. I'm sure he was just intimated. He doesn't mean any harm he just doesn't know her like we do."

Looking at a nearby bulletin board Ruby noticed wanted papers with a lightning bolt insignia imprinted on it asked in confusion to Bruce, "Look at all the lightning bolts, Bruce? Do you think that's our speedster?"

Bruce using the Faunus traits of his bat ears managed to pick up some conversation of other Faunus talking about someone.

"—Stole her backpack but The Flash was after the thief in, well, uh, a Flash –"

"Yeah! All red and gold. Like a comet—"

With that, the two began to investigate the Faunus's in the area with Ruby trying to guess who is the speedster, "Do you see the colors of her feathers? She must be – the cheetah Faunus?"

Bruce glances at another Faunus that is another possibility of being their speedster, "A Peregrine Falcon Faunus… the Fastest Faunus on Remnant. The other Faunus describes a red-gold blur. Not quite… there."

Bruce's eyes soon landed on a young Faunus woman with long orange hair tied into low pigtails and blue eyes. Her Faunus trait is an orange and white fox tail. She wears a bright red long-sleeved jumpsuit with yellow shoulders alongside a yellow scarf cape with a matching sash around her waist that is long enough to hide her tail at the back.

A silver fox-shaped badge is also attached to the sash. She also sports brown leather forearm-length gloves and calf-high boots. In addition, she wears brown goggles with black lenses on the top of her head.

The Fox Faunus girl looks at Ruby giving her a wink in an attempt to escape with Ruby trying to get her attention, "Hey, wait!"

Bruce seeing this gives Ruby the command to follow after the Fox girl in an attempt to give Ruby confidence, "Well… show her who the real speed demon is Ruby!"

*Swoosh*

*Woosh*

Both of them activating their semblances <Petal Burst> and <Super Speed> they both began to run around with Ruby following after the Faunus girl across the Faunus Quarters causing a ruckus along the way with Ruby trying to get her attention, "Kid! Stop! I just want to talk!"

"Kid?!"

Hearing being named a kid Ruby tried to be replied to the Fox Faunus finally getting ahead of the lead with her petal trails left in her wake, "I don't mean to be rude… but I thought you were meant to have this very powerful speed Semblance? And I thought, um, you were going to be faster?"

The Fox girl lands down replying to Ruby with a cocky grin on her face, "Sure, you're fast. But I'm wily."

*Wwsssh*

Taking this moment to jump high enough to one of the nearby home's roofs the Fox girl managed to climb up and began running away from Ruby.

*Woosh*

Using <Petal Burst> to keep up and catch up to the Fox Faunus she rushed in to try and catch up to her unaware the Fox Faunus made a u-turn leading Ruby to an easy trap to fall out of the roof of the home, "Hey, kid! I'm pretty sure wily is big enough for both of – ahh!"

"Zoooom…!"

*Shiii*

Ruby soon began to fall down on the ground with her Crescent Rose beginning to lose grip fall down on the ground bracing herself while a flash of red and gold blur passed to get Ruby but soon the blur didn't come any closer seeing the royal blue aura leaving blue rose petals behind surrounding Ruby gently down making her question why she didn't receive any pain.

Opening her eyes again she soon sees herself gently fall down but her attention turns to the red and gold blur soon to be in the flesh witnessing The Flash.

The Flash takes on the form of a young Tortoise Faunus with short blond hair and blue eyes. The Flash Faunus trait is lime green scales on his elbows. He wears a red short-sleeved turtleneck with a yellow sash that has an attached golden lighting symbol.

The Flash also wears brown leather gloves over white bandages, green pants, red boots, and a brown turtle shell backpack. To hide his identity, he wears a red mask with lightning designs on each side and lighting-styled tails.

Soon the Flash began to talk to Ruby with a look of confusion shown on his face as he introduces himself, "Uhh… I'm pretty sure I'm the speedster you're looking for. Name's Barry Allen also known as – "

Interrupting Barry's words Ruby voiced her surprise at him but then took notice of the blue aura surrounding Ruby as it vanishes, "The Flash! A tortoise Faunus? Wait if you're a speedster then who's the one who helped me…"

Barry smirks pointing the obvious from behind Ruby as she turns around her eyes widen in surprise seeing Jack come out with a sigh but on his face a smirk showed, "Sigh… I swear Ruby you are going to be the one driving me to the grave. But glad to see you're ok."

*Woosh*

Quickly using her <Petal Burst> pulling Jack by surprise with a hug tightly as her voice trembled a bit in worry, "Jack! You're… really are… ok? I thought something bad have happened when I heard Ozpin say that you were gone along with Team JNPR… I thought I lost another friend…"

Blushing a bit hugging Ruby back he replied patting Ruby's head with reassurance in his voice feeling Ruby's chest close to his, "Yeah… Sorry if I made you worry – and I'm sorry for the show there… The Flash right and is the shell real?"

Ruby's eyes widen as she soon separated from the hug making Barry laugh at this slightly at her acts, "Haha… now that's something you don't see an everyday young couple in love. And for your question, the names Barry Allen and the shell's a backpack, but you should see my tail."

Ruby blushes harder hearing that while Jack has evident red cheeks trying to change the topic with anyone pointing to Barry for his color, "Ahem…! Sure… but wouldn't you stick to the color green than red since you have the tortoise color on you?"

Barry sees Jack trying to change the topic and nods in understanding replying to his question, "I just really like the color red mate. I think it's my color."

Soon enough the girl comes out beginning to introduce herself to them in person, "So do I. The name is Jesse Quick."

Next comes Bruce coming to where everyone is noticing Jack introducing himself, "Looks like we have a newcomer. The name is Bruce Wayne and you?"

Jack's eyes remain calm but inside his thoughts are freaking out seeing Batman in front of him but keeping his inner fanboy out replying to him remembering the situation, "Jack Nights. Team Leader of JNPR I was hoping if any of them are around after hearing from Ozpin. I already sent my clones to see if they are around Weiss and Yang's locations."

Bruce and Ruby nod at this then Bruce turns his head towards Jesse Quick asking in a curious tone, "So if you're the speedster, and not the fox then who is she? You're Faunus shield?"

Barry flashes towards Jesse properly introducing her to Bruce fixing up her golden cape on Jesse, "Not human. Not a shield. Jesse vets' strangers for me."

Jesse replies to the group explaining her reason why she wants to play decoy, "Humans came looking for a Faunus with powerful semblances. They hear talk of some big speedster, then see I'm just good. But not great and they leave us in peace."

*Zoooom*

Zooming in super speed Barry glances around Bruce immediately figuring him out noticing his family insignia then talked to Jack and Ruby, "Of course, none of them were as illustrious as the spoiled rich kid slash boy genius who started a Dust war between the Lloyds and the Schnee – Bruce Wayne, the Bat Faunus. And you. You're a Huntresses and you a Huntsman."

Nodding at that Jack remained silent letting Ruby explain what is going on while asking them for any people like them, "And you – are in danger! We come from Beacon Academy Professor Ozpin says someone is targeting those with powerful semblances, just like Jesse said! The people you raced before Jesse what did these people look like?"

Ruby turning her head towards Jesse began to reply to the huntress in training her response while crossing her arms, "Well… they looked like you. Like Huntsman… except their eyes… something was really wrong with their faces of the time. They wore masks."

Jack chimes in curiously wondering if there were any other factions joining in this event, "Like what the White Fang would wear Grimm mask perhaps?"

Shaking her head Jesse began to explain to them the people she saw were incredibly off, "No they weren't Faunus… they were human for now anyway with how wrong their eyes feel. But the colors in their eyes… they weren't right."

Hearing the news Ruby pleads with Barry to come with him for his safety, "We need to get back to Beacon Academy."

Barry, however, doesn't agree much pointing out his concerns about the problems they are dealing with, "Didn't you hear what Jesse said? Huntsman-in-training hasn't just been sniffing around Faunus with powers. They've been straight-up kidnapping people with strong Semblances. Jesse saw them do it!"

Jesse nods her head in agreement describing the kidnappers to everyone present making Jack's eyes widen at the news, "There was one, a girl with orange hair in an old-fashioned styled off-the-shoulder blouse – Gosh, she talked more than any other girl I'd ever met. But, the girl next to her, with the long red ponytail barely said a word –"

Interrupting Jesse's description Jack's eyes widen in a slight panic already deducing who was the one that kidnapped the people, "Wait! Those sound like Penny and Pyrrha! Are you positive those are the people you described!"

Barry seeing jack being a little too forceful was about to intervene before Jack catches himself almost gripping Jesse's arms before apologizing in shame, "Oh! Sorry I didn't realize I was about to grab you… but… are you positive are those the people you described around to kidnapping people…"

Jesse nods with Barry sighing in relief not needing to intervene feeling a tap on his shoulder with Ruby explaining, "Sorry about him. It's just his… really worried about his teammates since he heard the news of them going missing. I apologize –"

Barry nods in understanding scratching the back of his head and talking to everyone interrupting Ruby's words, "No worries missy. I'll be the same if anyone took anyone I care like ma and Jesse I'll be worried about them to no end. Come along to my Ma's home. We have video surveillance to show maybe they are your friends or not."

Jack just slowly nods in acceptance at this with everyone going towards Barry's home while Jack thinks to himself worried, 'Pyrrha… Ren… Nora… Penny… don't worry I promise as your friend and Team Leader I will save you. Just like you did for me those months ago against the Nightmare Grimm… and Penny with the help against the White Fang and Torchwick... This time I will return the favor!'

"Ma I'm home!"

Entering the home of Barry Allen everyone soon entered inside to see Barry's mom in the flesh with everyone being respectful inside his home.

Barry's mom Nora Allen is a female Snail Faunus with eyestalks as her trait. She wears a purple long-sleeved dress with a frilled hem alongside a white apron and brown curled-toe slip-on shoes.

Nora Allen began to comfort her guest with Barry introducing her to Ruby, Bruce, and Jack with open arms, "Mom! I've brought some friends over for dinner!"

Nora Allen began to politely welcome Barry's friends one by one holding her cooking spoon, "It's always a pleasure to meet Barry and Jesse's friends! I'm Nora Allen."

Ruby began to explain to Nora Allen about themselves with her starting things off, "Pleased to meet you! I'm Ruby Rose."

Next came Jack as he introduced himself with a respectful smile on his face, "Nice to meet you miss I'm Jack Nights. I know another Nora, she's friends with people I know –"

Before not knowing Nora Allen hugged Jack somewhat surprised asking an immediate question to him, "Is everything all right sweetheart?"

Jack retaining his calm mood replied letting Nora Allen finish hugging him remembering the time he hugged his mother back on Earth, "Yes, it's just – it's been a hard day… and this is a nice break with everything going on. Thanks, madam."

Nora Allen's eyes glance towards Bruce Wayne asking him his name, "And what's your name?"

"Bruce."

Nora Allen began to hug Bruce after his brief introduction while talking to him about what they were having for dinner and the safety of everyone present, "I'm Nora, and we have four cheese ravioli. It's not a big apartment, but I'd rather you stay here for the night than risk you kids out there, with all these disappearances."

Jack frowns upon hearing this while Barry shows him towards their tv with attend's all around it gesturing to Jack to follow talking loud enough for Ruby and Bruce to hear, "Mom rigged up the security cameras to keep an eye out of danger – "

Before Barry could finish Jack glanced at the nice lady and then at Barry while interrupting him not believing she could add security cameras, "Yeah… no. That – I mean her do it? Are you positive it wasn't you Barry?"

Jesse smirks at this lightly laughing at Barry's failure to lie before rolling his eyes and speaking the truth to them, "Fine. I rigged this thing to tap into satellite Tv, our neighbor's pricey channels, and half of the security cameras in the Faunus Quarters. Please don't snitch."

Jack agrees while glancing at the screen beginning to turn on while Ruby began speaking to Barry calmly, "Penny and Pyrrha are two of my very dear friends… professor Ozpin said they went missing."

*Bzzt*

The Tv turned on with Barry pointing out Penny with red eyes and Pyrrha with neon eyes looking like they were talking to each other, "Here we go! Like Jesse said – Huntsman!"

That was when the two eyes began to lock into the camera screen before Barry turned it off with the reflections of Bruce, Barry, Ruby, and Jack expressing some deep concerns on their faces.

Ruby soon began to try and convince Barry to be joining with them after explaining the seriousness of the situation, "Barry… I know you don't have a lot of reasons to trust us. But something is taking control of things in Remnant. People, animals, and Grimm. Then pretty soon…"

Jack continues to conversation while clinching his fist while Bruce taps his shoulder hoping he wouldn't do anything reckless, "And if they can control anything…"

Barry immediately getting the seriousness of the situation finished off their sentences realizing how bad things are in Remnant, "They're going to control everything."

A foreboding dreading feeling was felt in the house coming to realize how serious the situation was…
